January 1st, 2000: |
Welcome to BME's new look for this year. I hope you like it, it took many,
many hours of programming to make it do a few of the neat new tricks. The
personals as well is being reworked. Other than that, enjoy, and let me know
if you see any Y2K glitches that slipped through -- I'm sure there are a few.
I've redone the indexing system, and there are lots of other changes, both
now, and that will be unveiled over the next month.
|
| |
January 10th, 2000: |
BME is sucking up as much as 15 gigabytes of bandwidth a day! This number is
so obscenely high that I will soon be taking steps to correct these numbers.
I haven't quite decided how yet, but do expect some changes soon.
|
| |
January 11th, 2000: |
You asked for it, you got it. BME CD-ROMs are available again! (And T-Shirts
again soon too).
|
| |
January 13th, 2000: |
Check out the new shirt design! Thanks Caitlin!
|
| |
January 20th, 2000: |
Well, users are starting to get killed for fraud. Don't think I won't notice
when your account downloads data from Milwaukee, Aukland, and London all at
once. On top of that, to the folks in England who have been port-scanning my
server lately, I've been tracking your IP numbers and will pass them on to
your ISP if you insist on continuing.
|
| |
January 23rd, 2000: |
Ice Storm!!! Thanks to an ice storm, Bell's T1 to our credit card
server is offline as of about 6AM EST this morning. That means that you can't
currently do toolstore, video, or t-shirt orders, nor can you sign up for
a subscription, nor can I send you your free subscription. I expect it will
be back up some time tomorrow.
|
| |
February 9th, 2000: |
You may notice that there are a few less experiences than normal this update.
That's not because less people are sending them in, it's because we're trying
to be more selective as to which ones we slip through... So, you can be more
confident that the majority are worth reading, instead of having to wade
through piles of crap before finding a valuable experience.
|
| |
February 9th, 2000: |
MODCON 2000 invitations have been sent out. If you didn't get one, but were
supposed to, let me know! Or if you want to come, email me about it.
|
| |
February 11th, 2000: |
Loyal e2 members: You now have a dedicated "what's new" page so you don't
have to search so hard to find your updates. Thanks for you patience!
|
| |
February 17th, 2000: |
Got your own web page and want to spice it up a little? Check out the new
Your BME section.
|
| |
February 20th, 2000: |
BME updates are being posted to rec.arts.bodyart again. Also, a faster
Ethernet card has gone into the server, so you should notice some speed
increases.
|
| |
February 23rd, 2000: |
As you can see I've been rebuilding the gallery layouts. I hope you like it.
Feel free to send in suggestions... I'll do the fullsize update tomorrow.
|
| |
February 24th, 2000: |
OH NO!!!! As you may know, BME is currently being produced on a portable.
Well, that computer fell off of my desk for the last time, and now has no
more display... So unless it miraculously fixes itself, there will not be
any updates until I get a new computer. With any luck that should be dealt
with by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Sorry for the inconvenience.
|
| |
February 25th, 2000: |
As I promised, something big and exciting: Check out
BMEradio!!! Broadcasts start
soon!
|
| |
February 29th, 2000: |
I've fixed a scaling problem in my BME robot program, so you should notice
a significantly higher quality on many of the images. In addition, I will
be out of the country from the 14th to the 18th of March, so there will be
NO email responses whatsoever during that time period. No updates either,
but I've been putting stuff aside and will do a huge update both before I
leave and after I come back to tide you over! PS. If you see me in London,
come and say hello!
|
| |
March 11th, 2000: |
Well, enjoy this update, because it'll have to last you a little while.
I'm in London this week -- So no email responses, no BME/store shipments,
and no updates. Assuming there are no plane crashes, you can expect a hefty
update shortly after I return on the 18th.
|
| |
March 18th, 2000: |
I'm back, so thinks will be on track again shortly. Luckily everything ran
smoothly while I was gone... Vacations freak me out. By the way, thank you
to all of you that have been helping to support
StopDrLaura.com. You're doing a
good thing.
|
| |
March 22nd, 2000: |
BMEradio.com does its first broadcast on Friday! Check it out then! Also,
the live chat room has been expand, give it a visit and you'll find it busy
any evening.
|
| |
March 24th, 2000: |
A few things to tell you. First, BMEradio is up and running. If you have the
chance, please visit it and tell me what you think. Second, I've redone the
BME Toolstore, and added a few new items (xylocaine jelly, scalpels, surgical
staplers, and saline refill kits) to the online ordering. Third, I've restocked
the t-shirt store to reflect what I have (Classic shirts for example). Finally,
come back on Sunday for an image update... Thanks!
|
| |
March 26th, 2000: |
Sorry the chat system was down for so long... It was beyond my control.
I don't know what happened, but it meant a couple of sleepless nights for the
folks at Xoom/Parachat... Their chat servers were totally offline. Anyway, it
looks like it's working again now. By the way, this had nothing to do with
the recent upgrade. The timing was just a coincidence.
|
| |
March 31st, 2000: |
Very exciting news: Check out the FREE BRANDING
contest that BME and Blair are sponsoring! Hopefully it will produce one of the
best brands ever done. In addition, BMEradio has a great new interview with Blair. Check
it out!
|
| |
April 1st, 2000: |
Sorry -- no big April Fool's prank this year. The mailserver for my CGI's
got its plug pulled (and of course no one told me) so I had a bunch of damage
control to do. It also means that any experiences or questions-of-the-day
sent in after about 11 AM yesterday (Friday) didn't make it to me. It's
all working again now, but if you didn't get a response to what you sent
in that time period, PLEASE resend it... If you want to amuse yourself with
last year's prank, here's the URL:
Adding and Subtracting. Enjoy!
|
| |
April 3rd, 2000: |
Well, they've done it. BME has been added to "the index" in Germany.
Check out the article in BME/news.
|
| |
April 5th, 2000: |
Some good news today... I spent the last day updating BME's utilties, and now
the tattoo mini-portfolios are properly credited, and the PUBLIC genital
piercing sections now have lots of sample images. Also, we've been doing lots
of great BME/radio interviews. I have got Tom Brazda, Keith Alexander, and
Kurt Wiscombe all waiting in the finished queue. BTW, this update was done
while listening to Negativland's Helter Stupid -- one of the greatest albums
of all time. They're on tour right now, don't miss them!
|
| |
April 5th, 2000: |
Woo-woo! A couple hours of programming and we now have an IMAGE SEARCH ENGINE!
|
| |
April 7th, 2000: |
Check out the new interview with Kurt Wiscombe on
BMEradio!
|
| |
April 15th, 2000: |
First, go check BMEradio.com -- there's a great new interview with Tom Brazda.
Second -- how do you like that shirt on the cover? It's BME's super-rare new
shirt. Only 36 will EVER be printed. They're on a variety of different colors,
and best of all, the backing of the design is SILVER FOIL! (Ooooo, pretty!)
Anyway, if you want one for free, here's the deal: You have to have helped out
BME by having sent in photos. If you have, email me the EXACT URL of the photo
you sent in, your size of shirt (by the way, I have LOTS of baby-t's, so if
that's your size you're more likely to get one), and your name and mailing
address. If you all like this, I'll print up cool promos ever month or two to
thank all of you for helping BME and "the body modification movement" in
general... ;-)
|
| |
April 18th, 2000: |
The shirts are ALL GONE... So don't email asking for one. I will do more
of a NEW design in a couple months, so keep your eyes open.
|
| |
April 19th, 2000: |
Good news to all of you that have been emailing me about it: BME/Boy and
BME/Girl shirts are available again! There aren't many though (about thirty
of each), so if you want one, order soon. I probably won't EVER run them
again. Also, they're in the second edition colors -- really nice and bright
-- not the fairly pasty pastels that the first edition ones were in.
|
| |
April 20th, 2000: |
Go over to BMEradio.com and see the new interview with Gary Winters! Also,
both the BME/Video store and parts of the BME/Toolstore will be shutting down
soon. The Video store will be served online only. The Toolstore will be
still there in part -- but not everything will be available to non-contributors.
It's not there to make ME money; it's there to help out people who help out
BME. Since hardly anyone is helping out in return for these items, and
really unmotivated to keep doing it. Those of you that are "friends of BME"
just email me when you need stuff and I'll help you out. I can't emphasize
enough how thankful I am to everyone that helps out BME.
|
| |
April 28th, 2000: |
First, go check out the new BMEradio.com interview -- Keith Alexander is
playing right now. Also, the streaming server is finally installed, so you can
now FAST FORWARD if you want to (for example, if you don't like the song).
Although I still recommend you download it all -- then you can listen to it
as you please. Also, thanks to Mel/Lobes for the photos from the Philadelphia
convention! Anyway, full update will happen tomorrow, but enjoy the convention
photos.
|
| |
May 3rd, 2000: |
The semi-finalists of the branding contest have been announced! Follow the
link on the opening page of BME (the one that says "FREE BRANDING") to see if
you're there.
|
| |
May 5th, 2000: |
Go to www.BMEradio.com and check out the new interview with Erik Sprague (Amago
the Lizardman). Also, the winner of the branding
contest has been announced. As a "consolation prize", all of the
semi-finalists and winners are getting a special t-shirt that ONLY THEY get!
Oh, and sorry about the cover! ;)
|
| |
May 8th, 2000: |
BME is now managing in a couple of mailing lists. Check them out by clicking
on mailing lists on the opening page... Also, THURSDAY is Caitlin's birthday!
|
| |
May 9th, 2000: |
Just a little update today... But some good news:
BME/Video just got itself a SWEET new machine -- an AMD Athlon 800mhz CPU,
Adaptec U2W SCSI with THREE (yes, three) 18.2GB 10,000RPM U2W drives, 512MB
of RAM, a Truevision DV500 card, and various other pieces... So, in about a
month or so, you can expect to see serious streaming video content and
interactive CDs!!! Woo!!!
|
| |
May 10th, 2000: |
Some updates to the toolstore: first of all HEGAR sounds are FINALLY back
in stock. Secondly, I have added a few items: new needles, syringes, sutures,
and some new saline kits. Third, I think I've simplified the order process
a little. In addition, check out the great profile/interview with Jason
Sand.
|
| |
May 10th, 2000: |
OH, and to the assholes that have been sharing your passwords -- your accounts
have been terminated and your credit card companies have been notified. Sorry
to everyone else -- that's why BME has been so slow for the past 24 hours.
|
| |
May 12th, 2000: |
Go check out new interview on BMEradio.com with Marcel... Especially if
you have always wondered about what kind of person gets castrated, you
will really enjoy this one.
|
| |
May 13th, 2000: |
Just a little update today, but I should mention that BME is going to take
advantage of its new video-editing facilities and finally shoot a piercing
documentary! The good news for you is that if you are in Toronto, BME will
pay for your piercing and jewelry if we can film it! Follow the free piercing
link on the opening page of BME for more information.
|
| |
May 18th, 2000: |
First of all, go check out BMEradio.com! I've added a great new interview
with Jon Cobb, a piercer I consider one of the most important figures in
this subculture, even though he's been out of the limelight for a few years.
Also, if you're going to be in Toronto on MONDAY THE 22ND, come and launch
fireworks with me... Go to BME's upcoming events to find out where.
|
| |
May 19th, 2000: |
Wow -- Check out the MAJOR New York City 2000 convention coverage! Thanks
to Shawn Porter and Billy Caldwell for all the great photos.
|
| |
May 23rd, 2000: |
First, go check out the photos by Mishel Castro in BME/art (if you can't
figure out how to get there, go to BME/news from the main index, and then
you'll find her there). Second, BME's fireworks party was so much fun that
I'm going to have BBQ's and mini-parties/munches all summer. Click on
mailing lists on the opening page to join the list to get invites!
|
| |
May 24th, 2000: |
Note to everyone who has an American Express card. We just got the following
letter: "We have determined that it is no longer commerically practical for
American Express to continue to conduct business in the adult content Internet
industry. Therefore, your merchant agreement is terminated." So... If you have
a membership on an AmEx card, I will not be able to renew it, nor will I be
able to process any more sales (toolstore or membership) on AmEx cards. We will
still be accepting VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and JCB.
|
| |
May 26th, 2000: |
Check out the new interview with Allen Faulkner on BMEradio.com! In addition,
sorry for the delay in update and email... I poured a soda on my Toshibas
keyboard, toasting the machine!
|
| |
May 27th, 2000: |
Sorry it's just a little update. I'm still catching up on things after having
wrecked my computer. There will be a much bigger update tomorrow, plust some
VERY VERY VERY exciting news.
|
| |
June 1st, 2000: |
First, go check out www.BMEradio.com and listen the the interview with
Cat (who
is on the cover right now). Also, a quick warning: I will be at the TED
conference (www.tedcity.com for those that are interested) from Wednesday
the 7th until Saturday night. Which means that NO EMAIL, NO UPDATES, NO
QUESTION OF THE MOMENT... NOTHING
until Sunday. BME/radio news week may also be a little behind. Sorry!
If it makes you feel any better I have been developing some very cool new
software that'll add some neat new features to BME. Hopefully I'll have some
of it up and running at the start of the week.
|
| |
June 8th, 2000: |
If you head on over to BMEradio.com,
you can listen to an interview with Fakir Musafar!
|
| |
June 11th, 2000: |
You may notice that BME is finally using a new image layout. Now images are
not constrained to 640x480 -- since most people are using larger screens than
when BME first started, higher resolution images are being printed when
available. In addition, the overall quality should be slightly higher.
Enjoy! (BTW, the distorted thumbnails is something that I'll deal with later!)
|
| |
June 15th, 2000: |
Sorry for the silence there (QOD). Anyway, check out BMEradio.com -- this
time there's actually full video rather than just audio. You can watch a
tongue splitting procedure being done! Well... I'm going to bed now. I have
a bad sunburn, spent a few hours getting tattooed, and have been scrambling
to get everything ready for ModCon -- so if you haven't gotten the email
response you were waiting for, that's why.
|
| |
June 17th, 2000: |
Note that this is just the first batch of NIX2000 photos being posted. Check
back over the next half week as we'll be adding more photos as they are
developed, thanks to the hard work of Phil and Caitlin.
|
| |
June 18th, 2000: |
Lots of new stuff! A totally new look for BME, a polling system, DIY beading
kits for sale in the toolstore, and new photos in the toolstore.
|
| |
June 20th, 2000: |
Thanks to Caitlin for the MASSIVE NIX2000 photo gallery! 88 new photos in
that section today.
|
| |
June 22nd, 2000: |
Today was the third and final update to the Toronto NIX2000 convention page,
by far BME's largest convention coverage to date. Also, note that due to the
time constraints of ModCon, there will be no BMEradio.com broadcast this
week, but it will be back next week. Also, there probably won't be a BME
update until Tuesday either since I'll be busy with ModCon. Anyone who's
coming, see you then!
|
| |
June 26th, 2000: |
Well... ModCon is over, but I didn't get to see much of it. I spent the first
half of that day in the hospital. Luckily, thanks to the efforts of Shawn
Porter, Phil Barbosa, Tom G., Ed C., Carolynne, Steve Haworth, Erik, Allen,
Don, and a WHOLE BUNCH of others the event was a huge success. Now some bad
news: my doctors have told me that I have to cut back on my stress levels as
that is having a very serious impact on my health. Which means big changes on
BME over the next six months. I don't want to shut it down, but I may have to
step back a little. I'm working on tools both for increased automation, and
for moderation of the image galleries by various trusted people. Anyway, you
know I'll keep you all updated. Huge image update in a day or two.
|
| |
June 29th, 2000: |
First -- go check out BMEradio.com (it's back) for video of an ear scalpelling
procedure... Something that you don't get to see every day! Also, I've changed
some of the membership returns for experiences, but in return have added a
free sample image from BME/extreme to the cover page that updates every half
hour.
|
| |
July 5th, 2000: |
Check out the new T-Shirt designs!!! They're ANGRY! Now when someone asks you
a stupid question, all you have to do is point at the front of your t-shirt.
They're ultra-limited (only 20 in each design), so get them while they're hot!
|
| |
July 6th, 2000: |
First of all, go check BMEradio.com
for a very cool interview with body modification artist STEVE HAWORTH.
Secondly, today was yet another day of serious fraud. If this trend doesn't
stop, the entire site will be shut down for good; both because I can't
afford it financially, nor do I need to have my sweat and blood and that
of the people I care about be constantly taken advantage of.
|
| |
July 11th, 2000: |
Sorry for the delay in this update -- I actually FORGOT TO UPLOAD the last
one! So at least this one is nice and HUGE. I've been very busy... The ModCon
book prototype just got finished (looks GREAT), and I'm ahead of myself with
the BME radio interviews -- Todd Bertrang will be on this Friday, and Mark
Pantalone will be on next Friday.
|
| |
July 13th, 2000: |
First, as it's "Friday" or thereabout, go check out BMEradio --
this week we talk to Todd Bertrang. I've also started re-doing the layout into
something a bit more clean. I hope you like it. Also, in a few days BME will
have POSTERS (woowoo!) available.
|
| |
July 17th, 2000: |
If you haven't already noticed, BME now has POSTERS for sale (click the link
on the opening page of BME). In addition, that new line of slogan shirts is
almost all sold out and I will take them off the market as of probably
THURSDAY -- when I will also announce the availability and design of the
BMEboy2 and BMEgirl2 shirts...
|
| |
July 18th, 2000: |
First, if you're squeamish, don't look in the nipple removal gallery in
BME/extreme -- it's absolutley terrifying! But *EVERYONE* should take a
look at the new BME/boy2 and BME/girl2 shirts... Damn are they nice!
|
| |
July 20th, 2000: |
Another update to BMEradio! Go check it out, you can listen to a new interview
with Mark Pantalone.
|
| |
July 24th, 2000: |
Bet you were all wondering where I went! I've been here, working hard -- just
not on BME. I have the ModCon book totally done, as well as a VideoCD (that
you can play in most DVD players and computers as well). It'll be ready for
sale some time in the first week of August, and it's absolutely beautiful...
One of the best body modification documents EVER made in my opinion. Doing it
has been so much fun that a second BME book is already in serious planning.
Project Drop Out, Tune In is also rolling ahead nicely with a lot of interest
in it, so a holding company will be up soon. Also, the Church of Body
Modification project will be coming to Canada soon -- I met with the lawyers
earlier this week on behalf of the Church and there's nothing to it. Anyway,
enjoy the update.
|
| |
July 26th, 2000: |
Well, the new BME Boy/Girl shirts are about 70% gone. I'll fix the stocking
in a day or two, so if you don't see your size (for example, XXXL boy shirts),
they'll be back then and you can order them before someone else does. Also,
there's a BME BBQ this Saturday -- come one come all. It starts between 6PM
and 8PM, but come any time you want.
|
| |
July 27th, 2000: |
OK, so it's not really much of an update -- just some new files added to
BME/HARD (although for the many fans of the GEM gallery, you'll enjoy it),
more as an excuse so I could tell you about the new interview on BMEradio.com
that's up now. It's with David Vidra, check it out, it's important.
|
| |
July 31st, 2000: |
This upload was done using a new robot that automates the process even more.
It's a first step in BME being fully update (experiences, images, etc.) on a
every few minutes basis. "Soon" there will be people akin to moderators who
will have the ability to approve image submissions, so it won't be limited
by only my time. Anyway, I'm working on it! (BTW, don't email me asking to be
a moderator, if I need a moderator, I will contact you later).
|
| |
August 3rd, 2000: |
A lot of exciting things today. First of all, the ModCon book is finally (after
more than two years in the works) ready! It is, in my opinion, one of the most
remarkable documents of body modification ever created -- I say document because
not only is it a book, but each one comes with an hour-long VCD that will play
in most DVD players and computers. In addition, there's an interview with Dr.
Stubbs on BMEradio right now that I think is one of the best ones I've ever
done. Finally, for RAB fans, there's a photo of lish's incredible backpiece
(in the Oriental tattoos section).
Enjoy it all!
|
| |
August 8th, 2000: |
I'll do a complete update tomorrow, this was just a teaser. Also, the BME
T-Shirt Gallery is finally online! If you have a picture of yourself (or
someone else) wearing a BME t-shirt, send it in for 15 minutes of fame. ALSO,
I WILL BE AWAY FOR TWO WEEKS STARTING ON SUNDAY THE 13TH. I am taking an
extended road trip -- from Toronto to southern California and back again to
get a high-power laser system for my business partner's other company... So,
if I know you, and you live somewhere along that route, drop me a quick email
now telling me how to get in touch with you and I might hit you up for a place
to have a shower. It's the first time I'll have been offline (let alone not
working) for more than three days in about five years!!!
|
| |
August 10th, 2000: |
Warning: There will only be one more update (probably on Saturday) before I
leave for two weeks. So make the best of them! Anyway, if you head on over to
BMEradio.com you can listen to the new
interview with Luis Garcia.
|
| |
August 13th, 2000: |
I am out of here! From now until the end of August, I'll be on the road,
driving seven thousand miles in search of the American Dream. See you there...
|
| |
August 25th, 2000: |
I'm back from vacation! Give me a few days to collect myself, get caught up
with the toolstore stuff, and all that. You can expect an update on Monday,
and I've already started working on it! Thanks for your patience. OH, and
you can check out lots of pictures from my trip by
clicking
here (or just go to my homepage).
|
| |
August 29th, 2000: |
Check back tomorrow for lots of new scarification pictures from Blair!
|
| |
September 3rd, 2000: |
Well, if you haven't noticed, I wrote a piece of beauty pageant software...
Anyway -- here's a little picture update for you, and there'll be another
one tomorrow with a bunch of really neat stuff. I've also finally updated
the upcoming events list.
|
| |
September 4th, 2000: |
Sorry for the downtime on the CGIs last night. It might happen again later
this week as we move that part of the site to a more robust server. Enjoy
the update!
|
| |
September 7th, 2000: |
Sorry for the downtime with the CGIs -- All of that has now been moved to a
much faster, and dedicated solution. I'll probably be adding some cool new
stuff soon. Also, don't forget everyone that there's a
BBQ this Sunday (and another one in two or
three weeks).
|
| |
September 9th, 2000: |
WOW! Check out the shirt shop! BME has it's biggest new run of shirts yet,
including a new shirt by Dingo, two limited edition extreme shirts, and a
very cool new hooded sweatshirt design (with silver foil ink)!
|
| |
September 9th, 2000: |
Oh, and don't forget: BME BBQ tomorrow!
|
| |
September 13th, 2000: |
Check out the new LOVE gallery in the culture section! Any couples that have
met through BME, please send in your photos so I can add you there!
|
| |
September 18th, 2000: |
First of all, that interview with DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill) that I promised you
is at BMEradio (click the link at the top of the main BME page). Enjoy!
|
| |
September 20th, 2000: |
Just a little update today -- had to run out to the airport and pick up a
friend. More tomorrow!
|
| |
September 22nd, 2000: |
Don't forget everyone, the pageant starts tomorrow morning! If you want to
enter (and win some nice prizes) you have to do it by midnight today. No
entries will be allowed once the pageant has started.
|

First of all, go check out BMEradio.com -- I've added a new interview. Second,
I apologize to anyone who feels mistreated by the bug in the pageant (what
happened is that it reverted to an old voting record and ran the expirey
cycle -- so, users were reverted to their status as of three days ago). However, a big fuck you goes out to
the assholes that emailed me nasty letters about it. That sort of thing really
makes me want to stop building toys. And no, unlike what those people were
emailing me claim, I don't make money off the pageant. Yes, BME makes money off of
paid memberships. But it makes nothing off of the free parts, and the free parts do
not sell new memberships overall. If I was in this for money, BME would look
like, and market itself like a porn site. And it DOES NOT. I had thought that
people would appreciate toys and tools like the personals, the pageant, the
question-of-the-moment, the polls, the glossary, etc... But if I am wrong,
then maybe I should just start running this like a make-all-the-money-I-can
venture. If I scrapped the free stuff and the toys I'd probably double my
profits. But that's not why I do this. So don't worry, I'm doing my best
to ignore the assholes, and I appreciate all of you that email supportive
messages -- so, keep enjoying the toys, I've got some new ones up my sleeve!
But realize that they might have bugs, so don't get too mad when they malfunction, it's just supposed to be
laid-back fun. Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday, so no new update until probably Monday!

October 1st, 2000: |
So... Does anyone that reads BME have experience doing natural language
processing? I want to build some real intelligent searching into the new
glossary and QOD archives and could use some advice. If you do, drop me an
email. Anyway, enjoy the update. I'll try and add some pictures tomorrow.
Don't forget to keep voting on the pageant, we're getting down to the final
bunch -- thanks to everyone who's playing, even if you've been eliminated,
you still have my congratulations and I hope you had fun.

Lots of cool pictures today... even uvula piercing!

October 5th, 2000: |
Hey! As of midnight tonight (Thursday) we'll be down to the final round of
the BME Pageant. So vote! Vote! Vote!!! Every day! When you wake up on Sunday
morning the winner will be announced, and then on Monday, the new pageant will
begin (and you'll have until next Saturday to enter -- tell your friends).
|
| |
October 8th, 2000: |
First of all, the first pageant is completed!!! Congratulations to Frances and
Mateo (the big winners), and to everyone else who played. For complete winner
list, and to see the new pageant (topless!) and enter in it, go to the pageant
page. Anyway, I got tattooed today, and I'm taking tomorrow off to do the
thanksgiving dinner thing (Thanksgiving comes early in Canada!), so next update
is Monday or Tuesday. Enter the new pageant!!!

OK, so I'm operating on too little sleep and too much ZZ Top, so don't be
surprised if there are some typos in this update. There are however a couple
of really cool additions to BME/extreme -- check out Jerome's WILD forehead
saline injection... The punchline of the story is that he got all dressed up
after doing it and went out to a cocktail bar -- People didn't know what to
think. Especially since he could push on it and form indents -- making it look
like he'd been hit with a pool cue. In addition, there are some GREAT transdermal implant photos. You wouldn't think they'd heal
in an arm, but they did!

October 14th, 2000: |
Woo! The new pageant has started!!!! AOL members welcome (but I will be watching
you), and there are some cool new features...

October 15th, 2000: |
I am so tired! I probably shouldn't tell you about it yet, but if you want
to see what I've been working on, go to
iam.bmezine.com -- Feel free to play
with it if you want to, but do realize that we're talking pre-Alpha stuff
here and I've only completed about 25% of the programming. If you do play
with it, and you experience "odd" behavior, please do tell me though.

October 18th, 2000: |
So... Where have the updates been? Well, the BME box here at my house is dead.
I've taken the drives out, put them in another machine, and have installed
Windows2000. Which meant two things: first, it meant I was back up and running,
but second, many of my utilities stopped working, including all of the ones
that handle doing updates. I *think* I've got them mostly fixed, and that's
how I did this little update to test things. However, I'm operating on a few
hours sleep for the WEEK, so I don't think I can quite grind through a full
size update today. I'll try and get one out to you tomorrow. Oh, and I hope
everyone is enjoying iam.bmezine.com...

October 19th, 2000: |
Finally, a nice big update. I think I have my robots converted for Windows 2000. It was worth all the
work because now they run three or four times as fast!
Lots of very cool stuff in this update, so I hope it was worth the wait!

October 27th, 2000: |
Well, the IAM site is growing well; it seems to be building into a real
community -- everyone is welcome there, and it's easy! Even if you have no
computer experience, you can add a page. It's as simple as just filling
out some forms. Anyway, some neat stuff in this update, and some cool stuff
all ready for the next one (even some female anal piercing photos, a VERY
rare piercing).... and... Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

October 29th, 2000: |
OK, as always, right as I'm about to take a break, everything goes wrong at
once. I type two periods instead of one, and instead of trashing some old junk
files in a Eudora subfolder, I delete the last two weeks of mail I've gotten.
And there's no "UNDO". On top of that, the IAM and CGI server mysteriously
shut down last night. It wouldn't even reboot when the power was cycled. No
idea why. Anyway, I *need* this break. If I don't take it, I'll go bonkers. So,
I'll be in Philadephia until some time on Friday. Enjoy the update. If something
breaks this week, I'm sorry, and I'll fix it when I get back.
Oh, and just to reassure you -- I have done a complete off-site backup of the
CGI and IAM sites. So... If something REALLY terrible happens, we won't lose
more than a week of stuff.

November 3rd, 2000: |
Well, as IAM readers know, I cut my vacation short. I just can't stop working!
Ack! Anyway, enjoy the update, and there will be another one tomorrow evening
(an image update).

November 4th, 2000: |
Wow! Lots of amazing stuff in this update, especially in BME/extreme and BME/HARD. Also,
check out the two ears (one in the rook section and one in the
industrial section) destroyed by infection. I saw the rook one in person.
The infection appeared right after the piercing (at a reputable studio) and
within days his ear ballooned in size. Doctors tried to drain it, but there's
only so much that could be done -- now his ear lies flat against hit face and
it's AT LEAST 20% smaller than his other ear. The industrial infection
totally fucked up the guy. His ear is a totally different shape.... Ack!

November 14th, 2000: |
Hey, the classifieds are back, and better than ever! Sorry they were gone so
long.
|
| |
November 17th, 2000: |
Today is the all Lucas Zpira / ART-KOR update! Wow! There's some amazing stuff
here today. I put the mods in the free section, and added a huge ART-KOR
section to the bonus galleries in BME/HARD. One of the best things added
there yet... But... In the next few days I have something equally exciting.
One of BME/HARD's old friends has healed from his wounds and has returned
with a full-on 100% real DEEP stabbing picture set. Trust me, it's incredible
stuff. I'll probably add that on Sunday.
Enjoy the Lucas Zpira photos!

November 20th, 2000: |
A navel on the cover of BME? Yup! Look at that, a 1/2" navel on Frances Sand.
I just thought it was important to show the world that even the navel piercing
can be turned into something more than what you've been tricked into thinking
it is. Anyway, enjoy this update; there's some great stuff in it. Also, in the
next couple of days, there will be an update including two new galleries in
BME/Art, along with some other great stuff. Oh, and BMEshop.com will be up
VERY soon. Sorry for all the delays.
|
| |
November 24th, 2000: |
First of all, THE STORE IS FINALLY UP! Go to BMEshop.com and
have fun. Also, IAM has become a solid
community that's even begun having BBQs. Let's see... Keep an eye on the shop
as more items are added over the next few weeks. Finally, now that I have a
little bit of spare time, I hope to get a video server up and running before
the new year. Oh, and if you're wondering why BME was offline for an hour and
a half this afternoon it's because of fraud (password sharing in this case,
which literally means MILLIONS of hits every ten minutes)... That user has
been banned, and had himself blacklisted from pretty much every online credit
card processor now.

November 27th, 2000: |
I think that BME updates have been particularly good lately -- people have
really been sending in nice stuff. In addition to the normal galleries, this
update sees TWO conventions covered, as well as a couple of BME/ART galleries.
In addition, the QOD staff will be changing soon -- as you may or may not know,
it is a rotating line-up, and we're almost ready to change. So, if you have
questions that are specific to some of the non-professionals that have been
helping, make sure you ask them this week. In addition, if you feel that YOU
have what it takes to answer questions in the second wave of QOD staff, just
email me and I'll send you a "test set".

November 30th, 2000: |
Woah! 110 experiences in one update!
|
| |
December 6th, 2000: |
My god! 150 new experiences today! They're coming in so quickly nowadays, we
can barely keep up... Tomorrow I'll have new images for you, including lots
of nice surface piercing photos sent to me from Azl in Montreal. Oh, and for
those that like video... I've finally got my editing suite up and running
again, so I should be able to start serving video very soon.
|
| |
December 18th, 2000: |
It's almost the new year, and I have A LOT to do on the new video site... so
I might not do another update until January 1st (and make it a HUGE one)...
But we'll see.....
