When a bone is broken, it will occasionally fuse with neigbouring bones
in the process of healing. In this case the upper neck was broken and
the top vertebrae fused to the base of the skull. The other identifying
feature of this skull is its weight -- this skull is solid;
significantly heavier than the average skull.
Finally, the jaw is missing and the bone is yellowed with age.
