While surprisingly "normal looking", this hydrocephalic's skull is very unique and excellent condition. The teeth are almost complete and there is only minimal damage to the bone. Due to the hydrocephally the shape is unique and this skull definitely has "character". This skull is extremely rare and it is unlikely that another one will be found on the market any time soon.

An alternate explanation for the shape of this skull is that it is a sagittal synostotic. Synostosis is a condition where the leathery fissures between the bone plates of the baby's skull begin to fuse prematurely...before the head reaches a certain size. The saggital suture is the fissure down the middle of the top of the skull and when it fuses too early in life the skull continues to grow only in its long axis resulting in a head that is very long and narrow.
