BME of course has been around for some time now (since 1994), but, probably more importantly, the subculture of people that surround it has been around cohesively for some time as well. The BME Scrapbook (sort of like a high school yearbook in some ways) is intended to be the first in-print byproduct of that subculture, produced in-house, the way we want it to be.

It's important to understand that this is not a book that I (as in Shannon) am writing about you. It's a book that we are writing about ourselves. So I need your help. For this book to be a success, here's what I need from you:

  • Photos from BME BBQs and events (anything goes)
  • Photos of BME and IAM members (of mods, or funny stuff, or whatever -- photos of you various places, photos of your ultrasound, an x-ray, your grad photo, anything)
  • Photos by IAM and BME members who are photographers and would like to show off their work.
  • Drawings from IAM and BME members -- drawings can be cartoons, realistic, mod related, IAM related, anything goes!
  • Writings from IAM and BME members -- articles, essays, rants, poetry, stories. Again, anything goes subjectwise (stories about going to BBQs, stories about your school, things you've written on your page, quotes, anything at all).
With all submissions, please make sure you tell me who you'd like to be credited, and with photo submissions, please make sure to tell me what is going on in the photos so I can make a good caption (or write one for me). Please send photos at the highest possible resolution, as this is for print, not the web.

I think you get the idea... Send me anything you'd like. This is a book about us! Now some technical details. The book is going to be 5.5"x8.5", as many pages as we can build, and printed in black and white. Any profits will go toward IAM, but realistically I'll sell this book at a break-even price so there won't be any profits -- the point is to have fun.

Submissions should be sent to scraps@bmezine.com (please resend photos to that address, even if you've previously submitted them to BME). Note that I've set a very aggressive release date time-wise, so please send in things ASAP.

Thanks, and any questions can be directed to me via IM.
