Piercing PioneersAfter a long and enlightening conversation with my friend and in some ways mentor Jon Cobb -- someone who speaks from experience, having started much of this fire in my and the public's heart -- I have decided it would be best to remove this part of the site.
My intent was to keep people thinking about the possibilities of where all this can go and to keep it evolving. However, in my enthusiasm, I never thought about the negative reprocussions this could have: Body art is not a contest, and as wonderful as it is to see people trying new things with their bodies, the point should never be just to do something new. In addition, any "reward" I could offer simply sullies the real rewards.
Stay true to yourself: If something feels right to you, research it and do it properly. I hope you'll share it here when you do, but realize that you're not a hero because it's the weirdest craziest thing yet. You're a hero if it enriches your life. It's very easy to go down a very unhealthy path when you lose track of that simple rule.
