Yesterday(6/16/07), I decided I was going to go get a triangle piercing. I'd been thinking about getting one ever since my first genital piercing(a VCH) about two years ago, and reading up on it, mulling it over, and decided that today was the day. I thought that the piercing looked amazing, and I'd read that the effects were pretty amazing too.

But, when I got there, it was gone. The place was being remodeled into a beauty salon.
I went to a nearby Chinese restaurant, and asked the guy there what had happened. He clued me in on where the place had relocated to. I ran into an old friend of mine from high school, and it turned out she was going nearby there, so we decided to go together.
When I got there, I talked to the piercer, Scott, about the triangle. You know, making sure he knew what it was, how many had he done, etc. He'd done two, which is more than anyone else I'd talked to around here, and more than that, he'd pierced me several times before and trained the lady who did my vertical clitoral hood piercing. So I asked him to check and see if I was compatible, and he did and I was! Yay. I was worried, because he said that he'd ten people ask him about it, but only two were right for it. At the same time, though, I'd read some stuff on Rings of Desire about how to test and I was pretty sure that I would be able to, but it was nice to hear it from a piercer.
I made an appointment for the following day(6/17/07). As we leaving, my friend remarked about how glad she was that she'd gone in with me, and how nice the piercer had been.
The next day, I started getting nervous and excited as the time got closer, and I finally made my way over to the studio. Now, I could swear that the guy had said three-ish, but he had it written down as 2-ish. Eh, whatever. He was still there. I waited for his station to get sterilized from the last person, and then had to run and grab some cash after the CC machine went down. We'd also talked about redoing my VCH at the same time, but decided to wait a few days. For the triangle, we went with a curved barbell, which I preferred over a captive bead ring for aesthetic reasons. I paid him for both upfront, which usually helps me to not back out. Finally, I was up on the table
as he put on a fresh pair of gloves. Everything was already sterilized on the tray. The needle looked particularly ominous this time...
He told me that I'd have to take at least one pants leg all the way off(I wish I'd thought to wear a skirt. Oh well.) I hooked my legs on either side of the table, so I wouldn't kick him or close them and jar the needle. He told me that he was taking his time making sure that everything was placed right, and I told him to take as long as he needed, since I didn't want anything pierced that shouldn't be. After about three minutes or so, he made the dots and let me look at them. He asked if I wanted it farther back, and I told him that if he thought I should, go ahead. From what I could tell, he moved it a little farther back, but not much.
Then he put the clamps on! Owwww. This hurt the most of everything. He was having to clamp it AND pull it out to pierce behind it. I was a bit of a wuss, but he already had the needle in so it seemed stupid to back out. 1...2...and the needle went through. It was painful, but not much more than having my nipple pierced. It took a bit longer, though. He slid the jewelry in, and there was no additional pain with that, just a bit of pressure and some pinching. After that, I had a major endorphin rush and I started laughing. It was bleeding, so he stopped up the blood and let me look at it. It was so gorgeous. All in all, it didn't bleed as much as I thought it would, considering the stories I'd read, and the pain was bearable and stopped right after the jewelry was in.
I'm very happy with it and the experience. The only qualm I've had is that I'm not sure whether it's actually a triangle or just a very deep horizontal hood piercing. But I think that's just the paranoid in me talking. Either way, it looks great. I definitely plan to stretch it in the future, probably only up to a 10 gauge.
