After deciding nigh on six years ago that I wanted a triangle piercing, doing a tonne of research and speaking to people about whether or not I would have the appropriate anatomy for the piercing, I finally had it done and after a few days with my new addition, I couldn't be happier with it.

Being the tops guy he is though, he promised he'd give me something to make me "feel special" before he said goodbye and, after a few not entirely serious suggestions of it, we decided that triangle piercing would in fact be the perfect parting gift seen as at the time a cutting wasn't going to be appropriate.
From the word go Wayde was totally honest and professional, admitting he hadn't performed a triangle before but had done his research extensively. I asked if he was confident doing it to which he said he was and that was good enough for me. I have a lot of respect for Wayde's work and the standard he upholds and I know he would never do anything less than fantastic – particularly on a friend.
The next day we talked at length about the procedure, my options for jewellery and whether or not any kind of anaesthetic would be appropriate. We decided on a 14ga, 12mm circular barbell (with intentions of stretching in the future) and using Emla cream because I'm a wuss! The next stop was probably the hardest part of the entire procedure – taking my pants off for the first time and letting someone I considered a friend play around with my genitals. Once again, Wayde was nothing but professional and it didn't take long before I was at ease and talking as easily as I would have, had we been sitting fully clothed at the pub having a beer. Having confirmed that my anatomy would suit, and marking the piercing, we put a little Emla around the area and waited out the hour for it to kick in.
The time rolled round and I was back on the table again, pantsless, with a leg over either side of the table and very nervous! Wayde assured me he would make sure I was relaxed the whole way through and that I was breathing properly before he did anything to me. Thanks to nerves, it seemed like an age that Wayde played around with my genitals again, feeling for the exact right position and ensuring that he wouldn't lose the place with the clamps on, he tightened them up and I got my first taste of exactly what I was in for. Although the clamping didn't hurt as such, it did make it abundantly clear that the Emla wasn't going to offer me a pain-free experience. Marked up, ready to go and with my ankles wrapped firmly around the legs of the table so I didn't flinch, kick out or do anything else to mess up the process, Wayde picked up the needle and gave me the usual deep breathe in... and relax as you let it out...
The piercing itself was exactly like I'd read about. A really sharp, intense pain but oh so quick! I didn't even have a chance to yelp before the needle was through and despite my expectations of more discomfort fitting the jewellery it was all fine and I had a beautiful new piercing that I'd wanted for years which sits perfectly around my vertical hood to make a neat little cross with the four balls.
I didn't know what to expect as far as bleeding; I'd read stories on BME about fairly bloody affairs but seen as pretty much no other piercing I've ever had has bled a great deal I wasn't entirely convinced. As it turns out, there was just enough blood to justify wearing a pad for most of the evening, but I could of gotten away with just a liner. I haven't experienced any pain since the piercing, but the swelling does make it a little uncomfortable to keep my legs together (lucky it's not miniskirt weather!), there's a little bruising around the area, which three days on seems to be disappearing and the blood the past few days has been present, but really minimal. All in all, the piercing is perfect aesthetically, the experience wasn't nearly as traumatic as I expected and my only regret is not going to a bigger gauge (stretching is going to be a bitch!) and not being tough enough to go without Emla – but that's mostly a pride thing. Despite talking to piercers that had done triangle piercings (albeit not many) before, I don't think I could have made a better decision than to go with Wayde and there's a certain pride that goes with popping his triangle cherry!
It may only be a couple of days in, but so far mild saltwater soaks seem to be doing just fine keeping my piercing clean and healthy. I just can't wait for the swelling to go down so I can test drive this baby!
Like all good stories, this one lines up the perfect sequel. At the end of the procedure, pants still somewhere on the floor, we had a quick anatomy 101 class relating to how girls' urethras work and now Wayde has a new piercing to research and in time I'll have another story to tell...
