When I woke up one fine Sunday morning, I figured it would just be yet another typical, boring day as usual. To my surprise, there was nothing boring about that particular Sunday at all. It was the day I got my 10g horizontal triangle piercing.

I had put some thought into getting this piercing months ago. I checked it out here on BME, read some experiences, and spoke to someone who has it. I came to the conclusion soon after that it was to be the next piercing I was going to get. All that preconceived planning, however, was totally thrown out the window when I was persuaded to get it done on the spot. With nothing else better to do, I sat in front of my computer and logged onto AIM to see if anyone was online. As soon as my buddy list appeared, a window popped up. It was a friend of mine who wanted to know if I would go with her to get her nape pierced. What better way to spend the day than to go and watch a friend get something done. I immediately agreed to accompany her, got dressed, picked her up, and then we headed to Anomoly in Pasadena.

On the way to the shop, I had told myself that I was not going to get anything and was only going to sit in with my friend and that's it. Of course, right when I walked in, an overwhelming feeling of wanting to get pierced came over me and made it much easier for me to give into temptation. With some persuading from my friend and temptation consuming me, I decided to just go for it. Having not shaved that morning, I was not as quickly persuaded as I would have been if I had shaved. None the less, I filled out the paperwork. There was a lot of prepping that went on due to the fact that my piercer needed to find the correct placement in order for the piercing to be correct. I did not mind at all that it took a while because the wrong placement would have been disastrous and not to mention intensely painful. Once he found a good spot, he marked and clamped me. It was go time now. I took in three deep breaths, held it on the third, and then I was pierced. I didn't make a sound but I did make a face. It was difficult to explain the feeling I experienced. It took me a bit, but I figured out what it felt like by comparing it to other piercing experiences I have had in the past. I would have to say it was similar to a nipple piercing, in that, it had that same sort of internal pain. But unlike my nipples, this one was certainly not a hot, throbbing pain. The pain was a quick and sharp internal pain combined with another sensation that I believe had much to do with the area in which I was being pierced. All in all, by far the best feeling while being pierced I have had as of yet. I bled a little right after and then that was pretty much it. Like my VCH, the pain was over almost immediately after it was completed...well, except for when the jewelry was inserted. Ouch, that hurt. It wasn't until I got home a couple of hours later that I bled a little more. It wasn't too much but it was bloody.

Two days after getting pierced, I woke up in the morning only to find that I had bled a lot during the night. It seriously freaked me out when I turned on the light in the bathroom and looked down to see the blood that was all over my pajama bottoms. I sat on the toilet in order to calm myself a bit, but unfortunately that didn't help much. I was already feeling lightheaded by the time I sat down. The next thing I know, I am face down on the ground not only bleeding from my piercing but now from my forehead. I had fainted and fallen forward, hitting my head on the way down. With all the other piercings that I have, never have I passed out from the sight of blood. I guess there is a first for everything.

I walked away with a minor head injury and with the knowledge that the next time I read and hear that a certain piercing is a messy one, I will expect the worse just in case. I bled quite a bit the first three nights. There wasn't as much blood during the daytime hours, only at night. By the forth day/night, I was seeing a lot less blood. After about a week, I didn't see any more blood at all. It healed up very well and looks really good too. Even with the passing out incident, the whole experience was a good one. I am very happy with my piercing.
