I have been seriously thinking about getting a triangle piercing for months now. I did a lot of research, which is important to do with a piercing like this. I was sure that I had the right anatomy and I knew how important it was to have an experienced piercer. However, I did not know if there were any piercers in the area (Frederick, Maryland) that had experience with doing a triangle piercing so I planned to go somewhere like Rings of Fire in New Orleans, or Infinite in Philadelphia. Although I've always wanted to visit New Orleans, I did not see myself getting there anytime soon and I was ready for this piercing, and did not want to wait. I did a search here on BME and found out that the local piercer, Brooke Corvelli, had experience doing Triangles. I knew Brooke because he used to work at Timebomb at he had pierced me before.

Today there was a huge snow storm and my boyfriend and I were walking by the tattoo shop (we live right next door) and decided to talk to Brooke about maybe getting it done today, since there was not much to do anyway. Why not, right? Brooke was great, he explained the piercing and showed me his portfolio, it was quite impressive. After talking to Brooke for a while, we decided to wait a few hours just to make sure I wanted to do it, plus I had had a few drinks so I though it best to give it some time.

Because Brooke had pierced my conch and rook a while back I knew his personality a bit and I trusted him. Plus I felt very comfortable at this new shop because everyone there is very friendly. So, we went back a few hours later and decided to go for it. I was only a little nervous, but Brooke is very easy going and professional so it made it easier. After Brooke was all set up I went back to the table (with my boyfriend), and well, took off my pants. I did not feel uncomfortable at all. I thought that the hardest part of the piercing would be taking my pants off, but it was not bad at all.

The table was very comfortable and sterile (there was a pad/paper put down), and there was a nice screen set up for privacy. My boyfriend was allowed to stand next to me, on my left, and I was happy he could be there with me. Brooke again explained the piercing to me, and made sure he had the exact correct spot. It took some time, but I liked that he was very picky because that is a pretty important place down there. I think that I got a little nervous at this part, but once again, Brooke was very helpful.

The forceps did not really work, so he used a receiving tube, which I actually had never heard of before, but that was fine with me because usually the forceps are the most painful part. I did not actually get to see how the receiving tube worked, but I think it just went on the other side and kept the needle straight once it was pushed through.

All the tools Brooke used were fresh out of the package and he took care to make sure everything was sterilized. He was even careful about not touch the paper towel roll with his gloved hands after the piercing.

Anyway, after everything was ready, Brooke got the needle, and I grabbed my boyfriend's hand. Brooke was very calm and that made me calm, at first the only reason I knew that the needle part was coming was because of the look on my boyfriend's face! :)

I was told that this was the most painful female piercing ever. Well, to tell you the truth it felt great! Hah. There was only a slight bite, kind of like a nipple piercing, but when the needle was pushed through there was a rush of good feeling (that is the only way to describe it). I did not have the urge to squeal or curse or anything. I just shut my eyes and squeezed my boyfriend's hand. It was quite an amazing experience. I remember letting out a nice big sigh afterward. And it looks great too! The jewelry went in fine, I got a horseshoe shaped ring (14 gauge), and he was careful when threading the bead. He squirted water on it, I guess to wash off all the blood (there was a lot of it). The water felt nice, and I got very excited that it was all over and I finally had my triangle!

The piercing DID bleed A LOT, however there is not much discomfort and the bleeding has stopped. I recommend this piercing to any girl, as long as they trust their piercer. Brooke said that I handled it better than most girls, but I can truly say that it is VERY bearable and worth it if you can get up the courage to do it! Also, make sure you have someone there with you to hold there hand, it is very comforting.
