So I got it again. What I lovingly refer to as the "piercing itch". It's like clockwork. Every six months or so, all of a sudden, I need to get something. I already have 21 piercings 6 in each ear including my conch and tragus, my nostril, tongue web, nipples, upper and lower navel and a surface piercing on my stomach. Facial piercings are kinda out for now because of my job, so it just seemed logical my next piercing should be below the belt.
At A Glance Author Mary Contact marybowen@comcast.net When A month ago Artist James Watts Studio Miraculous Creations Location Worcester, MA, USA I was originally thinking of getting a vertical and horizontal hood, I loved the look of the two piercings together, and I thought I had the correct anatomy for it. I talked to my piercer, James Watts, and he suggested to me that I go for a vertical hood and a triangle. I had heard of a triangle before, but was never really sure what it was. He explained to me looks wise it was very similar to a horizontal hood, but it was a deeper piercing that passed through the inner labia and behind the clitoris. I completely trust all his advice when it comes to piercings so I decided that I would do the vertical hood and triangle and I would do them both in one sitting.
For the first time I decided to go to this piercing alone. I had always brought a friend for moral support, or a hand to hold, but this time I felt better going alone. The car ride is about 45 minutes most of which my mind was racing. My nerves weren't that bad, I was mostly thinking about the fact that I had to drop my pants in front of James.
Once I got there we picked out the jewelry and started to get everything set up. I had his first appointment, but some girl came in wanting her belly button ring changed so I told him to just take her first since we would be taking about an hour. So... a few more minutes of waiting, then it was my turn.
He explained everything that would happen, and showed me all the tools he would be using then he told me he would leave the room so I could get undressed and to call him in when I was ready. So I took my pants and everything else off, draped the cover sheet over my stomach, got ready and called him in.
He cleaned me up, which was VERY cold, but anticipating the pain, it was the least of my worries. James made me feel totally comfortable, and the fact that my pants were off, didn't make me uneasy at all. He took lots of time to carefully mark for the triangle piercing, and after about 10 minutes of that, I was ready. He warned me to be aware of my body during the piercing, because the natural reflex to something like the piercing, would be to close my legs. So I focused myself and he told me to take a deep breath in and he would pierce me when I exhaled. I breathed in and as I exhaled I felt a sharp intense pain and I didn't close my legs, but my body did jerk a little bit. Luckily I didn't hurt myself or him. It was kind of a lingering tingley kind of pain. Afterwards it really felt like after an orgasm. I was really sensitive to touch, so him trying to put the jewelry in was quite an experience. Next he did the vertical hood. Same procedure, except this time the pain wasn 't as intense, but it had the same orgasmic affect. Also, the vertical hood bled, a lot, for most of the day actually. So word to the wise, even if you think you've stopped bleeding, wear a panty liner for the first day, otherwise you might ruin a good pair of pants.
After he cleaned me up and everything, he left the room and told me to call him once I was dressed. Once I put my pants on I could already tell walking around would have a whole new appeal for me ;). He told me to take it easy if possible, don't drink alcohol that night (it thins the blood and could cause excessive bleeding), and to check the balls to make sure they are on securely on a regular basis. I left the shop completely thrilled with the piercing and how James had done.
I went to work that night and honestly, I wasn't uncomfortable at all. I did however cancel my plans to go dancing that night. I got out of work and was surprised by a message from James saying he hoped I wasn't to sore, and to call if I had any questions or concerns... what a nice guy :).
It's been about a month now, and I can say it has been BY FAR the easiest healing I've ever had to do. I only clean it once a day now, and that is barely necessary. I haven't go to "try them out" yet, but I am looking forward to it.
Another successful experience and piercing thanks so James.
