I started on my body modification in January, 2000. I lived fairly close to Eugene OR, and had heard that High Priestess was the place to go, if you were searching for highly qualified, safe, and SMART individuals to help you along in your quest for self-improvement. The first time I drove north to have body piercing done, I called ahead to make sure that there was time/space available, as I was interested in having multiple piercings done, during one session. I spoke with Georg on the phone, he assured me all was good, and to come on up! Very friendly, very upbeat, which of course, gave me confidence in his ability and his knowledge. ALWAYS A PLUS!

When I arrived, I was given the opportunity to look through a portfolio of work that had been performed at the studio, and to look at their immense collection of body jewelry. My god! I had NO idea the selection of what was available, until I was shown the display cases. Talk about wow! It really gave you the opportunity to play with the idea of what the different jewelry would look like, how to further compliment your body piercing, etc etc.
Well, it was finally my turn, and we talked about what exactly I was looking to get pierced, namely my hood, and possibly one other. I had always wanted to have my genitals pierced, but wasn't necessarily certain of what exactly I should have pierced. I discussed my fear of having my clitoris pierced, simply because I had heard of the negatives effects, such as loss of sensation, etc etc. Can you IMAGINE such a thing? I knew that wasn't what I was into, at all, so we talked about the triangle piercing. Georg explained the procedure, the placement, and the asthetics of such a piercing. His knowledge was superb, giving me the confidence in his own ability. It's not everyday that you let someone between your legs holding a hollow needle, with the intention of causing pain! That takes a lot of trust, and confidence in your piercer! Georg also asked my permission to allow another High Priestess piercer, Lisa, to sit in on the session. I had experience with Lisa previously, when she and Georg did a tandem nipple piercing on me, so I didn't have a problem with it at all.
Well, the room was set up, time to get nekkid! Talk about nerve-wracking though, your body gets pumped up into high gear, knowing that you're about to embark upon a new journey into your own ability to overcome, and ride the wave! I started shaking, and my hands were cold, but Lisa helped me to focus on my breathing, while Georg talked me through the marking and placement of the clamps. That in and of itself is slightly embarrassing, simply because of the personal contact between you and your piercer, especially for the triangle piercing. The wonderful thing is how professional the crew is at High Priestess. You never have the slightest doubt that they know what they are doing, and they go out of their way to set you at ease. The clamps were in place, time to focus, and get myself into that special place, ready to embrace the upcoming wave. Deep steady breathing, maintaining calm, and the needle is pushed in. Now, for me I wasn't a stranger to the "experience" of piercing, HOWEVER! It was a shock to me, and my body of course, protested. Apparently I jumped so far I pulled out of the clamps, and Georg had to finish the triange free-hand. It all took place in a matter of seconds! I felt like such a looby though, because I had jumped. But Georg assured me all was well, and we got ready for the vertical barbell through my hood. Talk about WOW! My body was already rushing from the adrenaline, and then to add the second piercing? just WOW! The vertical went quicker than I expected, but after the triangle, of course the vert didn't hurt nearly as bad as I had expected it to.
Now off to "aftercare" procedures! I was already familiar with seasalt soaks, for the amazing healing benefits. But now that I had such an array of jewelry, Georg passed on the idea that I might want to start bathing in a tub with seasalt, properly sanitized, and properly diluted, of course! Walking, however, became a completely new experience for me! You NEVER REALIZE what you are rubbing on before you are modified in the genital region! GOOD GOD!!! I had been warned, of course, that I would start walking like I had just been on an 11-hour elephant ride! But reality is just never quite as you pictured it in your head! I suddenly had to adjust my wardrobe, as well. Those merely "comfortable fitting" jeans are a thing of the past, that's for sure! Suddenly I understood the desire for loooooooooose and baaaaggy!!!!
As for the bleeding associated with genital piercing, of course I had the same as I'm sure most other ppl. I bled, I wore protection, it was uncomfortable, to be sure, but more than worth it! I didn't panic, simply called whenever I felt I had a concern. That was the best part, I think, knowing that no matter how stupid or silly the question, the piercers at High Priestess always cleared the matter up, and always let you know you weren't stupid for asking questions. Talk about a great crew! The next time I am in Eugene, I'll be stopping by the studio for more mods!!
