I've been into body piercing for a number of years now, but it's only been this last year that I've been interested in 'pleasure' piercings.

I've had my nipples done many times (improperly, always with earrings), and my nose is pierced twice. A few months ago, I had my nipples re-done at Ritualistics, and I love the added sensation the piercings have given me. I'd definitely recommend it for any

woman whose nipples don't respond as well as she'd like. :)

Before I get off-topic here, I first thought about getting a genital piercing done three years ago. But I wasn't that comfortable with the idea of someone poking a needle through my private parts, so I never got past the research stage. After having my nipples done, I changed my mind - I figured if I could tolerate the intense throbbing pain of swollen nipples (and anyone who's had their nipples pierced will know exactly what I mean), I could stand just about anything. So lo and behold, I checked out BME and finally made the appointment for the following Sunday. I had Monday off to recover, what did I have to lose?

The day of the appointment, I showered and shaved extra carefully - after all, body hair could be a hindrance to the healing process - and made my way down to Divine a little later than I'd hoped. Luckily Tara could still fit me in. She led me to the back of the studio and into the room where the piercing would be done. It was super clean,

but I was nervous anyway. My knees were shaking so hard, I thought my legs would give out. But Tara was excellent, she assured me that all we would do at first was talk about the piercing. If I changed my mind at any time, I could leave. She really put me at ease by answering my questions honestly and describing the different piercings I could have done; she even drew a few pictures to give me a more visual idea of the differences between them. Finally I decided on a triangle AND a horizontal hood. It was time for me to take off my pants and climb on the table so she could decide see if my body was built to *be* pierced this way.

After examining the area, Tara told me that I'd be better off with a triangle and a vertical hood - the triangle wouldn't leave enough room for the horizontal piercing, and it (the triangle) needed enough flexibility to heal properly. A vertical hood sounded good to me, too; I've heard that vertical hoods tend to have more sensitivity

than horizontal ones, so the idea was anything but unpleasant to me. I lay there visualizing how it would look to take my mind off the discomfort I knew I'd be experiencing soon.

Tara walked around the room gathering all the equipment she would need, taking the time to explain how the procedure would go and what I would be doing during the piercing. At this point, I was starting to get nervous again, but luckily I'd brought my best friend along to hold my hand. As soon as Tara had laid everything out, she marked me with a felt pen and handed me a mirror to see if I liked the positioning. I did. It was time for the actual piercing to begin.

Grabbing my friend's hand, I concentrated on lying very still so that Tara could position the receiving tube and the clamp. (I have to admit, I giggled when she slid the receiving tube in. I couldn't help it - I'm ticklish.) The clamp was a little uncomfortable, but I knew it would be nothing compared to what lie ahead. Finally, it was time... Tara told me to taking a deep breath in through my nose, and to let it out through my mouth. In... Out... In... And the most excruciating pain I've felt in my life! I squeezed my friend's hand in a death grip and bit back the scream. Luckily it was over in a few seconds. I breathed a sigh of relief. Tara smiled. "Okay... Are you

ready for the next one?"

I bit my lip and clutch my friend's hand, squeezing it even tighter. Breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... Even WORSE pain (The second piercing always hurts more than the first), and then my triangle was done. "I'll give you a few minutes to relax before we do the vertical hood", Tara said. "The triangle is done, it looks nice. Take a look." I picked up the mirror and angled it down so I could see my new piercing. She was right; it was beautiful. The pain was bad, but it was worth it.

A few minutes later, it was time for the third one. "Ready?" Tara asked. I gulped and nodded, grabbing my poor friend's hand for the third time. And breathe in... YOOOOWWWWWTCH!!! I heard my friend yelp at the pressure on her hand as I nearly jumped off the table. I think my right thigh missed Tara's head by inches. (I still feel really bad about that.)

"Hold still, I don't want to hurt you," Tara said. "Relax your legs so I can remove the needle."

"Is the ring in yet?" I whimpered.

"No," Tara answered. "You jumped before I could get the ring in."

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry," I answered.

"It's okay," Tara told me. "Just let me clean it up and we can try again." I guess I was bleeding pretty heavily. But it was my own fault.

"You mean we have to do this again?!" I didn't know if I could stand having another needle anywhere near me. My legs wouldn't quit shaking long enough for me to even consider it.

"It's up to you. We can either try it again, or you could come back and get the vertical hood done after the triangle has healed." Tara

leaned back and examined her work. "The triangle looks just fine on its own, you know. It's really pretty."

I swallowed and nodded. "I think it'd be better to come back another time. Two seems to be my limit, I guess." I sighed. "For someone who prides herself on not being a wimp, I sure turned into one quickly."

"Don't feel bad," Tara smiled. "Everyone has a different tolerance for pain. You did fine."

I breathed a sigh of relief. It was finished. And it looked sooo nice!

I climbed off the table gingerly and walked over to where I had put my pants. I expected to be in a lot of pain, but surprisingly all I felt was a mild discomfort. As I got dressed again, Tara gave me my aftercare instructions and offered to answer any last questions I might have. I didn't have any, since she had explained the whole

procedure so well. So I thanked her and told her I would see her in a few weeks for my check-up.

*******

I can't believe it's been four weeks already. I'm going in for my check-up this weekend, and I'm happy I'll be able to tell her that my triangle's healing nicely. For me, this was a very easy piercing to heal - very little swelling, absolutely *no* bleeding since the day I had it done, and a very pleasant, freely-moving captive bead ring.

Maybe I'll ask Tara to put in an iridescent ring for me... I'd like to change the ring to a heavier gauge so I can get even *more* pleasure out of the best piercing I've ever had done.

As a side note to anyone considering a triangle, I'd have to say - go for it! The few seconds of pain you go through is well worth the pleasure you'll get. :)
