Once upon a time I'd still fret about whether or not a piercing was going to hurt before I went through with the procedure. Reflecting now, it seems like that was lifetimes ago. Presently my only considerations are aesthetic appeal, balance, and practicality. I don't want to appear cluttered, yet at the same time I don't want my mods to appear too sparse. I'm fixated on symmetry, and I need everything to be proportional. And last but not least...I won't pierce something unless I think it will be sticking around for a while.

I've had over 50 piercings, and I've done more than 2,000 play piercings. While musing over my mods one night, I came to a strange conclusion. With all of these piercings, why have I never done any genital work? Well, as soon as that thought crossed my mind, there was no stopping me. I just had to choose what I was to have done. It didn't take too much consideration. To start, I knew there would be more than one piercing involved. I wanted labia piercings, and lots of them. But what else? Christina, hood, triangle? After hearing from one of my heavily mod'd friends that triangle piercings were painful, I had to check it out. You know...just to see what all the fuss was about.

After years of questioning fellow female piercees, I decided on what I was to get done in less than 10 minutes. I knew that it may be worth my while to finally go ahead with some genital work, and nothing was hindering me. After recently breaking up with my boyfriend and becoming willingly abstinent, I wouldn't have to hold off on any sexual activities to let my junk heal. One rainy day, while spending time with my wonderful friend Dino, who is, coincidentally enough, a piercer, I randomly got the urge. No more waiting. I was going to start a labia project.

I wasn't sure how many holes I should go with. Two seemed to be insufficient, while eight was just too much to do all at once. We decided on 6. After looking at a bunch of pictures on BME, in addition to hearing horror stories, I had found more than enough reason to stray from rings. They have some obvious advantages with healing, but my body accepts piercings VERY well, and I don't want a sagging ANYTHING. Let alone a sagging vagina. Anyway! We both thought that 14 gauge curved barbells were the way to go. And for the triangle, a 12 gauge circular barbell. I'm generally all for the large gauge piercings, these were just a test run. Dino prepped and cleaned her station, prepared all 7 of the needles, laid out the jewelry, and we were good to go.

I dropped my drawers and she directed me to the chair. It probably would've been easier if she had gyno stirrups, but letting my legs hang off the edge of the seat worked as well. It took her a while to decide on the positioning for the triangle, but the rest of the piercings were marked up rather quickly. We joked around for about 15 minutes, I drank some juice, and it was time to begin.

I told her to start with the labias instead of the triangle, because I didn't want to get burned out on the first pierce. She grabbed a 14 gauge needle off the tray at random, pinched my left labia [no clamps used on these babies], and said "I wonder if this is going to make your eyes water." Well, that one didn't. It was a little rough, being the first one and all. I tensed up a bit, no outcries or anything. She slid the barbell in after the needle, screwed on the ball, and voila...we were 1/7th of the way through the procedure. The next one went through a little easier. The third was cake. As was the fourth, fifth...the sixth stung a bit, for some reason. It was closest to the pubic mound, on the right side. My eyes still didn't water. Everything was in place, except for the Triangle...

I didn't build myself up for the pain, at all. I had just gone through with 6 piercings, without so much as flinching. Dino tried to make a big deal out of it, as she was putting on the clamps. "HAHA, you're going to squeal like a piggy. This is going to be good," she said, and chuckled. My reply? "Dude, just fucking do it! I bet it's not even going to hurrr-urr-urrrrr..." *insert 12 gauge needle beneath clitoral shaft* "...urrrrrrr-TTTTTTTTTTT, FUCK!" Yeah, that one stung. A lot. Dino laughed her ass off as I sat there frozen, partially shaking. I tried to laugh too but it sounded forced, so I gave up, and said "Ow." She inserted the jewelry, which also kind of stung, and we were finished. I think I cursed because I lost track of that whole mind-over-matter thing. I wasn't "ready," so to speak. But it was a good experience, for sure.

All in all, I'm thrilled with the results. My vagina is now 10 times more exciting than ever. Healing wasn't bad at all, I was pretty swollen for a few days, but ibuprofen helped me get back to work right away. Sea salt soaks work wonders, in two weeks I was completely adjusted to my new metals and I wasn't the least bit sore. It's been about a month, and I'd say they're fully healed. I'll keep taking care of them regardless. If you're considering some genital work, just go ahead with it. Think about how much the piercings will mean to you. Pain is relative, and the piercings will stick around just about as long as you allow them to.
