OK, I have been wanting to get a pair of outer labia rings for quite a while, and every time I stop my my piercing artist's shop I talk to her a bit about it.

I knew that I wanted to do it alone, and that I wanted them both on the right side, placed relatively high. I basically just decided to go and do it, so I hopped in my car and headed across town.

She has done almost all of my piercings, including my nipples (ten months ago). She is very talented, and trustworthy. She makes a lot of her own jewelry, and everything is sterile and safe. When I came in, she knew what I wanted, and she said she was basically just waiting for me to say when! She said she had thought I would do it last time I was in...

Anyway, I picked out two titanium captive bead rings, one smaller in diameter than the other. Talking to her about the placement, she said she thought the smaller one would be better in the higher hole, and the larger one on bottom. I originally thought that I would have wanted it the other way around, but I trusted her, and now they look really nice – I must have been crazy to think about having the other way! She knows what she is talking about.

So I stripped from the waist down, and got on her table while she prepared everything. We talked about the healing time, which she said would be probably about as long as it took to heal and how long it took my nipples to heal. As for cleaning, she said to wash it once a day in the shower, and/or nightly salt soaks. About pain... she said it is a bit of tissue to go through, but it is soft (compared to the nipples), so it wouldn't be incredibly bad. I wasn't scared of the pain anyway, because I was pretty much just prepared for it at that point. You have to acknowledge that it is going to hurt, because obviously a sharp piece of metal if slicing through living tissue without anesthetic! ha.

Also, she mentioned that most people prefer one on either side, so my placement is kind of rare... but ever since I have imagined having them they have always been both on the right in my mind for some reason, so that is what I wanted for sure.

She cleaned me off, and marked the positions. On went the clamps, and I stared up and the ceiling, grabbed the side of the table with my right hand, with my left hand clenched in a fist, and I am sure my face was scrunched up.... She counted to three, and whoa... there it went. It hurt quite a bit, but it was over very quickly, and was nothing unbearable. I didn't feel her thread the jewelry in or anything, it was pretty much numb at that point. She wiped the tiny bit of blood there was, and basically waited for me to coagulate, which took little to no time. Time for the second... I was kind of apprehensive at that point because I know that the second nipple piercing hurt –exponentially- more than the first... but so be it. Clamps went on, another count to three.... and boom it was over in a flash. It hurt, but not more than the first did. Another quick and painless threading of the jewelry, and it was over. She cleaned it up, and handed me a hand mirror to check them out. We were bot h really happy with the placement. They are far enough apart that a third could be pierced in between them if I ever desired, and the bottom ball of a vertical hood piercing would be basically in between them too.

I didn't scream, puke, pass out or flinch and kick anything.

I gingerly put back on my underwear and loose pants, expecting there would be some slight bleeding, but there wasn't ever any. Paid and tipped her, and I was out to my car. I learned that walking around wasn't really a problem as much as walking up stairs, or getting in & out of my car... hurt a twinge but nothing serious.

So now they are about three weeks old, and lovely. The first week they were extremely sore, and constantly discharging a white substance, which I assumed to be normal. I cleaned them every day, and abstained from sex. By the middle to end of the second week they were doing ok as far as soreness, and now they aren't sore at all. I wouldn't, however go and tug on them right away! I think that they are really beautiful, and I am really happy I got them.

Now, in another two weeks I am scheduled to get my vertical hood done, which I am really excited about! Especially after reading about the stimulation.... I am anxiously awaiting that one.

All in all, the labia piercings are definitely more aesthetic in nature than anything, with moderate pain and fairly easy healing. I am thinking about perhaps getting one more labia ring on the left side in the future. We'll see.
