Hello All!!!

I had been thinking about a genital piercing for quite some time. I decided about a year ago that I would look great with some outer labia piercings. I wanted two, done at the same time, because I enjoy symmetry. I did some research, and the more I looked the more I decided that this was the piercing for me.

I talked about it with my fiancée, only to find out that he wasn't really wild about the idea. When we met, I had already had my nipples and my belly button pierced and though he said he did like the look of the piercings I had, he didn't think I needed any more. He's quite conservative, but seeing as he liked the piercings I already had, I figured he probably just needed some time to get used to the idea. He did say he thought that the Christina piercing was nice, but that wasn't what I wanted. I mean, my body is my body and I can do to it whatever I wish, however, we are going to be spending the rest of out lives together, so I didn't want to do something that would be a major turnoff for him.

So, months went by and every once and a while I would mention it and ask what he thought. I told him about how fun and sexy they would be and showed him pictures I found. I really think it is an attractive piercing and eventually, he came around. One day somewhat out of the blue, he asked me when I was going to get it done!!!

Unfortunately the hours of the piercing studio in town aren't very good for me. So it took me a while before I finally made an appointment. It was a Thursday evening, when I called to book the appointment, I was planning on making it for the following Wednesday because I had already taken it off work. I knew the studio had recently had a grand reopening, because they had moved, so I asked about the hours of operation. Crazily enough, because of their extended hours, I was able to do it the next day!!!!

I was so excited that Friday when I went into work, people kept commenting on how happy and glowy I looked, so I guess my excitement showed! I just sort of said I was in a good mood. I enjoy piercing and body mods, but I work in a rather conservative environment, so don't have any facial piercings and the piercings I do have aren't ones that I tell everyone about.

So after work, my fiancée and I went down to Creations. I wore a skirt, because we were going out to dinner after and I thought pants might rub too much. My fiancée asked me why I was wearing underwear and I explained to him that I had read about some people experiencing bleeding with these piercings, so it was just a precaution.

We entered the studio, it was quite a lot larger than it was the last time I was there, as they had moved, and they had a much larger selection of jewelry. There was the piercer, Matt, another guy, and a girl there. I'm not sure who the guy was, but I assume he worked there, as he was behind the counter. The girl asked me if it would be possible for her to watch my piercing, as she hadn't seen it done, and was thinking of apprenticing as a piercer. She also mentioned that she wanted to do that piercing on herself, so wanted to watch it being done first. I had no problem with that, the more the merrier!

So we went into the office type room where the piercing is done. It is a bright room with a high ceiling, and looked very much like a room in a doctors office, though more relaxed looking. So Matt asked me to have a seat, as he washed his hands. He got out all the equipment, clamps, needles, cork, jewelry and set them onto a little stainless steel table.

The girl asked me if I was nervous, which I was of course, at least a little bit!!! The moment that I had been waiting for had almost come!

Matt spent a lot of time marking my piercings to be sure that we had a good placement. The girl asked some questions about depth and position. He asked me to take a deep breath and exhale. He pierced on the exhale and man, did I ever jump. I had read that this was quite a painful piercing, as you are going through a lot more flesh than you are compared to something like a VCH piercing. However, I was not quite prepared for the intensity. When I had my nipples pierced, it hurt when the needle went through but not really after, and I think that's what I was expecting. It hurt. A lot. And it wasn't super quick, the needle went through quickly and so did the jewelry, but the pain just kept coming for what seemed like forever, but what I'm sure was only a few minutes.

Matt gave me a break between piercings, as he hadn't booked anyone after me. He told me just to let him know when I was ready. I'm not sure how long I waited, but it didn't feel like too long before I was ready to go again. So onto number two!

I thought the pain would be worse for the second piercing, one, because I was expecting it, and two because the first one had hurt so damn much. He put on the clamps and erased the marks. I made the mistake of looking down and seeing the needle, and whoa!!! So I asked him to just give me one more minute. As he had already erased the marks, he left the clamps on, which looked quite funny. So a few deep breaths later, I was really ready this time.

The second one hurt, but not nearly as badly as the first, which surprised me. The anticipation was much worse, but I didn't jump the way I did for the first one. After Matt put the jewelry in, he was going over the aftercare again, and asked me if I was feeling faint at all. To my own surprise I was! I was almost seeing spots. So I just lay down and he got me a drink of water. In a few minutes, I was feeling just fine.

We went back out to the front, paid, tipped, thanked him, and very gingerly walked out. Walking wasn't too uncomfortable, which was lucky as I had to work the next day. I found that it hurt when I touched my new piercings for cleaning, and sometimes when I sat things would feel, well not exactly comfortable. I didn't experience a lot of bleeding, though there were a few spots. However, my right labia was VERY bruised by the next day, quite purple and not very pretty. The other side didn't bruise at all. Three weeks later, the bruising has faded and healing is progressing quite nicely. I'm going to shave for the first time since the piercing, as I was a little nervous about irritating my new piercings, which my fiancée calls 'the twins' –kinda goofy but cute.

I'm not quite sure how to describe the placement of my piercings. I had read that outer labia piercings were always done slightly off from one another to prevent rubbing, but mine are perfectly lined up. They also are not on the same angle as most of the outer labia piercings I had looked at. Matt marked them on an angle so that the ring is higher on the outside of the lip than it is on the inside, it looks SUPER and it is really comfortable.

I love them, I think they're beautiful, and I can't wait until everything is completely healed. Yay for piercing. Am I going to get any more piercings? Probably, though I'm not entirely sure what. I think maybe I would get a Christina, as it's quite a pretty piercing. Happy Piercing!!!
