What, why and previous labia piercings

This experience is about the forth and fifth piercings of my outer labia corset. I plan to have six piercings altogether, three on each side of my outer labia, and I want to be able to chain and padlock them. I want to do this to make my pussy mine, and this is also the reason I'm doing them myself. There's a picture below showing what I want done. If you can't see the picture click here.

The experience of my first two labia piercings is here. Since then I have done another pair at the top, one of which I placed wrongly and had to be removed. After the successful was initially healed and the scar tissue from the failed one gone I decided it was time to pierce the forth and fifth ones. I decided to do them both on my right outer labia, one above the other, instead of one on the left and one on the right, so that they wouldn't run together during healing. Also, I'd decided to use EMLA and thought it would be easier to anaesthetise just one lip.

Why Anaesthetic?

I think I should explain why I decided to use anaesthetic. I asked for advice on the BME email group on how I should go about applying it, as one part was on mucous membrane, the other skin. I did get some helpful advice from a nurse about timings, but I encountered a lot of prejudice about me using anaesthetic as people thought it would take away from the experience, and that I had to get through the pain to 'deserve' the piercing. Also, I was told by a piercer that no woman he pierced had needed anaesthetic. This is why I feel I should explain myself... The first time I did the piercings I experienced the pain of doing it totally without anaesthetic. It was very painful, as when I self pierce it is slow, but I do feel like I gained a lot by working through the pain to get the piercing. I had a lot of resolve at the time and lots of reason for wanting to battle through the pain. It was a good experience for me, and the piercings turned out great and perfectly placed. However, with the third and forth piercings I found I was distracted a lot by the pain and couldn't handle it as well. It distracted me with my placement of the piercings and the piercings weren't placed as well as they could have been. This resulted in one of them being so uncomfortable to heal I had to take it out after a few weeks. I didn't want to make this mistake again. I felt I had experienced the pain them before, and I was also curious about how a piercing with anaesthetic felt.

Applying EMLA

I chose EMLA as I'd heard it was very effective and made things very numb, and also as it didn't need to be injected, as I wouldn't have done that as I don't have the experience and it'd be too risky. I bought it from BMESHOP and read the instructions carefully. I'd been told by someone on the BME email group that the outside of the outer labia was classed as normal skin and the inside mucous membrane, which is what I'd thought anyway. The instructions said that on normal skin it had to be covered with an airtight covering and left on for an hour, for mucous membranes it had to be left on five minutes and didn't need an airtight covering. I decided to put it on the outside for 55mins, then uncover and put it on the inside. Getting the airtight covering on my labia was pretty hard. I put the tetraderm patch on that came supplied but one of my other piercings burst it, and it wouldn't stay on the inside. In the end I used the patch, clingfilm and lots of black insulation tape the make the area airtight. It looked really odd, but worked. It looked like I was wearing clingfilm and tape granny pants! Getting the tape off was the most painful part of the whole procedure, I'd put loads on and it really hurt to get off.

Preparing Equipment

While I was waiting for the EMLA to work, I got to work on sterilising my equipment. I don't have an autoclave, so I couldn't sterilise my equipment properly. However, as I only I use my equipment myself and don't have other people's germs to consider I decided that boiling them in water would be sufficient to get rid of bacteria. I should, ideally, however, have used an autoclave. I put my clamps, cork, jewellery, scissors and metal bowl into a saucepan of boiling water and boiled them for 20mins. I scrubbed the tray I was putting my equipment on thoroughly with ditto (a disinfectant) and covered it in clean kitchen roll. I then scrubbed my hands and arms thoroughly with antibacterial soap, and took the clamps out holding them by the handles only and being careful not to touch the ends. I used the clamps to take out the bowl, being careful not to touch the inside of the bowl against anything, and put the bowl on the tray. I then took the jewellery out of the saucepan using the clamps and put them in the bowl. I also used them to take the scissors out of the saucepan and out them on the tray. I put the cork on the tray, and the ends of the clamps in the bowl. I also opened the needles into the bowl, being careful to only touch the outside of the packet and not the inside. I put an open tube of KY jelly with a blob of KY on a disinfected saucer on the tray. I also put a mug of saltwater and some cotton buds on there. There is a rather blurry picture of the equipment I used below. If you can't see it click here, here and here

Piercing Procedure

I then washed off the EMLA and removed my clit hood ring, as it would get in the way. I wiped my labia down with an antiseptic wipe, and marked where I wanted the piercings carefully in the mirror. I removed my clit ring I scrubbed by hands again and settled myself back down to where I was doing the piercings. This was sat on a cushion (covered with towels and tissue to soak up the blood) on the floor with a mirror balanced on a speaker in front of me. I then used the clamps to pull put my labia out. I found it easier to pull the labia out with the clamps first, as I could better manipulate the needle and see what I was doing. I lubed the 14g cannula needle with KY and pushed it through the to marking, the EMLA had worked well and I hardly felt anything. I had decided to use 12g SSS 10mm long bars to allow for swelling. I pulled out the needle, leaving in the cannula tube, and snipped the end of it off with the scissors. The drop down threading of the 12g bar fitte d perfectly inside the cannula, and so I could push the cannula out and the jewellery in this way, while protecting the inside of the fresh piercing from the threading. Unfortunately part way through pushing in the jewellery it fell out of the tube. I could get the cannula tube back through, or the jewellery, so I had to re-pierce. This time I threaded the jewellery through ok, even though it was hard to place it because of the amount of blood, and screwed on the ball. I then repeated this procedure for the markings below, this one was more difficult to do because of the amount of blood in the area and because it hurt more because the EMLA had worn off a bit. I got the jewellery in though.

Aftercare

After the piercing I cleaned up the blood with clean kitchen roll and wiped down with an antiseptic wipe. I put my clit ring back in. I put on a clean pair of knickers with a sanitary towel in to soak up any excess blood. I kept this on overnight, after that there were only a few spots of blood for the next day or so that a panty liner dealt with fine.

To take care of the piercings I just washed as normal twice a day using unscented soap, paying special attention to the piercings. I found this to be quite sufficient. If however I had had problems I may have switched to a non-scented antiseptic soap, or maybe a saltwater soak in a shot glass if things had got too crusty or sore. Luckily they didn't.

Healing

I found thongs uncomfortable to wear for the healing, though not as uncomfortable as last time when the piercings were further down. I also made sure my trousers weren't too tight while they were healing.

After 2 days I lost the ball from one of the piercings, unfortunately as I didn't have another 12g ball I had to stretch up to 10g. Although I shouldn't have done this so soon, luckily it didn't affect the piercing noticeably. The other piercing I waited 2-3 months before stretching to 10g. Really, I should have waited slightly longer, until it was at least 3mths old and well healed.

The swelling goes down more and more over time. Now, approx 9 mths after getting it pierced, the top piercing has been able to be downsized to a 6mm long bar. The original two piercings also have 6mm long bars. This was done gradually as the swelling went down gradually; it went to 8mm bars 6 mths or so after piercing. Now that its healed I take the bars out every week and soak them in hydrogen peroxide to clean them, as otherwise they can get a bit icky. I've also tried putting in 5 CBRs as jewellery, however I didn't find them as comfortable as bars. It like someone on IAM once told me, it's like sitting on your keys : )

Unfortunately, the second piercing (the middle one) wasn't pierced straight. I suffered with hypertrophic scarring and it was very painful when sitting down sometimes. Office environments aren't the best for healing genital piercings! I tried changing jewellery for a CBR to give the scarring space as the barbell was rubbing on it. This just irritated it further. I tried downsizing, which made it more comfortable, but I eventually realised it wasn't straight and took it out. I will wait for it to heal and re-pierce. This is one of the reasons its best to go to a professional

Disclaimer

Its best to go to a piercing studio rather than self pierce, as professionals will have better idea of placement and will be more clued up on surgical sterility. Don't self pierce unless you have a knowledge if anatomy, and don't use anaesthetic unless you know what you're doing with it. I do not recommend that people copy these procedures.
