It all started about a year ago. I was looking at pictures on BME with my husband and we happened upon an interesting new piercing that I've hadn't saw before; a fourchette. It was one of the most beautiful piercings that I had ever saw and I wanted it really bad. This surprised my husband. I'm not a heavily pierced person. But I had such great luck with my last piercing, a VCH, that I wanted to give a fourchette a try. He was all for it! I did a lot of research about them a lot of which said that they had a high rejection rate. I kind of pushed the idea in the back of my mind because I was scared that I would do it and then it cause problems and/or reject.

We took a trip to St. Louis right after Christmas in 2007 and we happened to be near Iron Age, the place that I got my VCH piercing. I told my husband that I just wanted to go in and ask about the piercing and to see if the area was ok to pierce. When I got in there and the piercer was looking at me he started talking like I didn't have enough skin, that he would have to use such a tiny ring to keep it from pulling, and that it would take at least an hour to pierce me. He was making such a big deal about it that I got really nervous and upset that I just wanted to leave. Later, I got even more upset because I didn't understand why he was making such a big deal and I had the feeling that he just didn't want to pierce me for one reason or another. The experience totally made me not want to get it done anymore. Everyone knows; if a piercer gives you a bad vibe...find a new piercer.

A few weeks later while running some errands in Springfield, I drove past one of my favorite shops, Kaleidoscope. I had heard one of the piercers that works there and looked him up on BME. His name was Kiki. On a whim, I pulled in thinking I would just to ask him some questions. He was awesome! He made me feel so comfortable. He was very nice and upfront about everything. I asked him if I would have trouble walking because I am a teacher and need to make sure that I can chase my little students around. I also asked him if he could look at my anatomy to make sure that he would be able to do the piercing. After examining he told me that there would not be any reason why he couldn't do it. He did say that he would have to use a smaller ring than he normally would. I put my clothes back on and as he was walking me out I was conflicted in my head whether or not I should just go a head and do it. "LET'S DO IT!" I thought to my self. "Why not?" This was the perfect opportunity. Unfortunately, while he was in there looking at my anatomy, two girls came in to get belly button piercings so I had to wait about a half hour. Then it was my turn...

I went into the piercing room with Kiki and another female employee. He told me to take my pants off and put my feet up. I told him that I was really worried about me flinching and accidently jerking or kicking him in the crouch but he told me that there was NO WAY he would let that happen. HA! He told me to lean back and I watched the monitor screen that they put on the ceiling with fish swimming around. He talked to me the whole time he was preparing for the piercing. All of a sudden there was a sharp prick and I gasped. I looked up and he was already done. The pain lasted just a couple of seconds. He gave me a mirror and I got to look at my beautiful new 16 ga fourchette piercing. I put my pants back on and went out to the lobby to pay. I was so ecstatic that I forgot to tip him. I got into my car and immediately called my husband. I knew he would never believe that I just got my fourchette pierced and that I did it alone! I could not have asked for a better experience with Kiki. He was amazing. The next week I did drive back up there and give him his tip as well as take a friend to get her nose pierced. He is very experienced, wise, professional, and well rounded. I would absolutely recommend him for every piercing!

It's been about 6 months now since I've had the piercing done. I couldn't have asked for a more smooth healing process. I was responsible with the piercing and took good care of it. I even went as far as not having sex for 2 weeks. It was worth it, though. No complications and a wonderfully beautiful piercing. It has no signs of migration or rejection. It doesn't pull during sex and luckily I've only snagged it once with my fingernail in the shower. I love my fourchette! And my husband loves it too!
