Although I have several piercings I could have written about, I am choosing my Christina because when I was researching it, I was wishing there would have been more experiences to read about. I imagine because it is not as common as say, a navel piercing (you can read my experience about that, too!) and there is not as much info about it. So I chose my Christina as a favor to those thinking about this piercing.
At A Glance Author anonymous When A year ago I thought I would never get a genital piercing. I would look at pictures of them and just cringe at what I thought had to be the most painful experience. I had come across a Christina piercing and thought it looked cute, but enough to get. After a while, I wanted to get a piercing that was different from what everyone else has. I grew up in a conservative family and went to an all girl catholic school so I thought the shock factor would have been fun. I started looking at pictures again and decided that the Christina was for me. Due to its position, this piercing is not really for pleasure reasons but more for aesthetics or beauty. That was fine with me though and I decided to start the piercing process.
I called the parlor and made an appointment for that Friday. My roommate had agreed to go with me for moral support. I am glad she did, as I always need a hand to squeeze when I get pierced. She drove us to the parlor and I greeted the piercers there. My piercer was going to be a girl and that made me feel a more little relieved. Although, I would not have been bent out of shape if it was a guy, it is just any girl questions I needed to ask she would be able to answer them. I decided to go with the barbell so there is less irritation. She told me to undress from the waist down and sit on the table. She measured the area and marked where the needle would go through. She gave me a mirror so I could agree to the marks, which I did. Then I lay down on the table and waited for the pain that I was about to endure.
On the count of three she pushed the needle through. I felt quick pressure and then an intense stinging pain. Yes, it hurt...very much. I will not beat around the bush with the pain. At least with me, it is why I read these experiences in the first place, to get an idea of how painful a piercing is. But as painful as it was, it was not excruciating. If you want the piercing enough, you can endure the pain. After she put the jewelry in, she put an ice pack on it to help with the pain, but I actually found that to be more irritating then relieving but oh well. She said I was able to have sex but to just be careful with it.
The healing process was a little more complicated. Right after I got it done, I could not wear underwear or tight jeans for a couple days. After that, came the typical gunk that comes with every new piercing. Throughout the process it would catch on my underwear or pants and that was uncomfortable. About three months into it, I noticed a little sore developing on the underside of the piercing. I assumed it was just irritation from getting caught on my clothes and when I went to the gyno, she said the same thing. It must have been, because it shortly went away. It took six months for it to heal completely, which is how long the piercer said it would. Now that it is healed completely I can honestly say I am very satisfied with it. I love the shock factor when I tell people or they find out I have it. It was definitely worth the pain and the complicated healing process. Now that I can change the jewelry, I can change it to something that does not catch as much to my clothes. If you are wondering what to change it to, I typically use the top- mount belly rings and they work just fine. They initially have to use a longer barbell when they first pierce it so it has room to swell if needed. After it heals however, regular barbells will work just fine.
If you are contemplating getting this piercing I say go for it. If you are worried about the pain, you can handle it and it's worth it. It really is cute and everyone else will think it is, too. I have not had any complaints about it yet! Good luck and have fun!
