Yet another semi-spontaneous piercing. I wanted some metal in my pants, but didn't really want a vertical hood, since that's what everybody else had. I loved the look of a Christina but was not satisfied with just its aesthetic appeal. I wanted something that would combine the cuteness of a Christina with the sensual function of a vertical hood. I browsed through the BME encyclopedia and stumbled across the article about the Nefertiti piercing. Almost immediately, I thought to myself, "This is what I want in my pants." I asked around on BME for piercers experienced enough to do one, but my search turned up no results. I put the idea of this piercing on the back burner, as I was looking into scalpelling my lobes at that point.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Brian Decker Studio Industrial Tattoo (visiting) Location Berkeley, CA One morning, I had received an IM broadcast from Brian Decker. He said that he would be in the area doing work in late August. I immediately thought of the Nefertiti piercing and asked him about it, as I had seen his work on BME and was really impressed with it. He said he had done this piercing a few times and would be comfortable doing it on me. I ran to the bathroom and did a quick q-tip test, just to make sure my anatomy would accommodate the receiving tube. I measured out how long I wanted the bar to be and set an appointment for August 26 at 1:30. The timing couldn't have been better; school wouldn't have started yet, but I'd be back in Berkeley by that time.
After a fun Welcome Week at school, Sunday arrived on my doorstep. I woke up that morning thinking, "Holy shit, I'm getting my yaya pierced by a stranger I only know from the Internet." I had lunch with my friends a the lovely dining hall (sarcasm) and headed down to Industrial around 1. My girlfriend met me there, and we waited for Brian to set up. He first marked out where the 1 1/2" bar would exit, and the bar he ordered was actually too short; my hood was really long, so I'd just end up with a long hood piercing. He looked for a longer barbell as we waited. He found a 2" bar and a 3" bar; I opted for the 3" bar, since the 2" bar didn't make much of a difference. Brian bent the 3" bar and put it in the autoclave while we sat in the piercing room. The machine finally beeped, and we were off.
I laid down on the piercing table with my pants around my ankles, and my girlfriend and I giggled at the awkwardness. I slipped my hand into my girlfriend's hand, which made me a little less nervous. After Brian cleaned around my hood, the fun began. He put the receiving tube under my hood, but only about 1/4". He had a hard time getting the receiving tube close enough to ensure that the needle wouldn't nick my clit, and at times it'd be really uncomfortable or even painful. We nearly gave up, but one last time did the trick. The receiving tube was uncomfortable, but I would bear it. He was ready to pierce and told me to take deep breaths. I started breathing deeply and staring at the skylight. I felt the needle go in, and it wasn't that painful. However, as it went deeper, it hurt A LOT, and I nearly crushed my poor girlfriend's hand. A few short seconds later, though, Brian said that the piercing took less time than he had expected and quickly put in the jewelry. I looked up and saw a bead sitting nicely above my clit. My girlfriend held a mirror for me so I could see my parts, and it looked amazing. My hood had already swelled, but the beads were where I wanted them, minus the extra bar that was sticking out from under my hood.
He cleaned up a bit and told me to wait and see I if would need to shorten the barbell. At this point, my girlfriend had to leave to give an interview, but I was thankful she was there for me. We talked about aftercare and heat compresses, and then I carefully pulled up my pants. I tipped him with all the cash I had on me (only 15 dollars), but thanked him profusely for being so professional and caring during the whole procedure. I was really lucky that someone as experienced as Brian was able to do this piercing for me.
It has been about two weeks since the piercing, and healing has been uneventful (a good thing). A few days after the piercing, my hood had bruised a lot; I was really afraid my hood had gotten gangrene and that it was going to fall off or something. The bruising spread to my outer labia, but it went away after a few days. Aftercare was just washing the piercing with Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree soap in the shower. once a day. For the first few days, I was walking like a duck to prevent from rubbing against the new piercing. My friend kept making fun of me for it, but I didn't care; I had fucking metal in my pants, and it was cute as fuck (plus, I was excited to see how it'd work for sex haha).
Overall, the experience was positive, though the swelling and bruising was terrifying and the receiving tube didn't go in so easily. I would really make sure that your anatomy can really easily handle a receiving tube and find a really experienced piercer. I would HIGHLY recommend Brian for any complicated piercing, as he knows his anatomy very well and has a very professional manner for everything. The piercing wasn't the most easy and easily tops my list for most painful piercing (combined with the receiving tube, I was ready to yell obscene words), but if you can handle about thirty seconds of discomfort, it's totally doable.
