I got my Christina piercing sometime in June of this year. It was gone by mid September. I'm extremely sad to lose it, as I consider it to be probably the most attractive of all female genital piercings, but lose it I did.

On the day of the piercing the decision was somewhat spur-of-the-moment, although I had been considering this piercing for some time. My outer labia piercings were just about healed, and I decided I wanted to add a third genital piercing, so my boyfriend and I headed to metal fatigue in Bournemouth. To be honest, I don't remember much of the actual piercing (I never do) except the insane bout of giggling which almost inevitably follows. I remember it being quite a sharp pinching feeling, but there was very little blood. The walk down the many, many, many stairs out of metal fatigue was fairly difficult, speed bumps on the way home were erm.. bumpier than normal, and I had a stinging sensation for the rest of the day, although the feeling was more irritating than unpleasant.

The next day, while at work, I learned that lacy underwear would have to be put on hold for a while. Now, really I should have realised this before putting the lacy underwear on, but getting dressed for work while half asleep kinda does that to your memory. Over the top went my too tight work trousers (cheap bastards won't give me new ones), and I went to sit behind my checkout in Sainsbury's. After working about an hour, I felt a painful tugging sensation in my knickers. I managed to escape to the bathroom, and discovered that the top ball of the piercing was completely through one of the little holes in the lace, and stuck. Removing the stuck underwear from my new piercing, was needless to say, quite painful. I shoved tissue between the piercing and the lace to keep the two apart, and went back to work, where the piercing continued to throb for the rest of the day. Lesson learned, no more lace for me.

The early healing stages were fairly uneventful, there was no bleeding, and very little pain, considerably less swelling that when I had my outer labia pierced. In fact, it seemed to heal so quickly, with so little pain, that I almost forgot it was there, which was where the problems really began. I started catching it on things, like the elastic of my underwear, and then it hurt. Oh yes, it hurt. This is where the irritation began.

To begin with, sex had no effect whatsoever on the piercing, and it didn't bother me at all, but when it began to get irritated by the constant catching (perhaps I'm too clumsy for these things?) sex, in particular, missionary position, made the piercing feel quite uncomfortable. Shaving was another problem. My preference down there is 'all off', and this was made much more difficult. I would catch the ball on the razor, knock the piercing, make it bleed. I tried pushing the bottom ball up, to kind of push the top ball out of the way, but that didn't really work. I tried removing the top ball altogether, but even then I couldn't get the razor around it accurately. Finally I gave up and bought some hair removal cream. I figured that as long as I cleaned the piercing thoroughly afterwards, the cream couldn't be as irritating to the hole as shaving was. I was wrong.

A small red bump began to appear underneath the top ball, but increasing the heat and frequency of sea salt soaks made this go down, and the general level of irritation decreased.

Just when things were beginning to go along swimmingly and I thought the piercing must be settling down and getting on with healing, I lost it. It was something of a surprise when it happened, the barbell simply fell out of one of my trouser legs while I was at college. By the time I was able to escape to the loo, the hole was long gone, not that it would have been a good idea to try to reinsert a barbell that had clattered onto the biology lab floor, but there you go. The only thing I can figure happened was that I must have caught one of the balls on something, and loosened it enough to fall off, leaving the barbell to fall out, escape from my underwear, and work its way down my trousers. Now there's a small red dot where the piercing used to be.

I will hopefully try this piercing again in the future, and try to be less clumsy with it, because it is simply my favorite looking female piercing, and even after having it only a short time, somehow I don't look 'right' without it.
