Christina And It's Tendency To Migrate.

When Three months ago
On a whim one summer day, I got the brilliant idea to get another genital piercing. After already been through the process of three other genital piercings, deciding upon a new one on a whim, wasn't such a big deal.

After making my appointment to have it done, I spent approximately two days on the Internet viewing all the possible female genital piercing locations. I wasn't having second thoughts about getting another piercings rather I was second guessing it's location.

When all was said and done, I opted for the Christina and arrived at a local tattoo and piercing studio to have myself pierced once again.

To my surprise, the man who was to pierce me (also a personal friend), had never before done a Christina. I was somewhat worried, but knew he was a quality piercer as he had done four of my previous piercings which all turned out great. Since this was his first Christina, he gave me a deal under the agreement that he would take a picture of the piercing immediately after the jewelry was inserted, and another picture once the piercing had completely healed. I readily agreed.

For those of you whom have not had the experience of getting this type of piercing, let it be known that my personal experience with this particular piercing is that it hurts minimally, looks beautiful, takes a vast amount of time to heal, but unfortunately, the outcome wasn't half as pleasing as I had hoped and expected.

After I had lain back in the surgical chair, having the positioning of the piercing marked out, and having said markings inspected, both myself and my piercer were satisfied. Then the joy of the initial puncture was made.

There was relatively no pain, although I did feel a tingling sensation surge throughout my body (a definite perk of getting any piercing, if you were to ask me). There was a minimal amount of blood (keep in mind this is a surface piercing), and it was over in the blink of an eye. I was satisfied with the results, as was the piercer.

The piercing, minus the redness and somewhat swollen area around the actual captive bead ring, looked amazing. I was so excited that it turned out well, and looked so complimentary amongst my other three genital piercings which had included a horizontal hood, and both outer labia piercings.

With the joy of having an attractive new piercing, I did my best to take care of it. I followed all directions which were printed out for me after receiving the piercing, and made every possible attempt not to have the fresh piercing get aggravated by any type of outside source. I didn't hesitate to call my piercer at the first sign of a problem. However, this only lasted so long as I found that my panties would often force the CBR (Captive Bead Ring) to either press to the left, or press to the right. Basically, for long periods of time, the ring would sit either to the left or to the right causing it to begin healing in said position. I'm not a piercer, and don't claim to be an expert, but it seems to me that having pressure on a CBR surface piercing which forces it to stay in any one position other than 'upright' - can and does have negative effects on the actual piercing. I believe that this began the migration process.

Within a few weeks, the area around the piercing was extremely red and swollen. I didn't have much pain, except for when trying to reposition the CBR in an 'upright' (making it perpendicular to the skin) manner. I quickly learned that soaking in a warm bath prior to moving the CBR, made the process more tolerable by loosening up any of the, now dying, skin which was clinging to the jewelry.

Nonetheless, slowly, day by day, the ring was being forced out of the skin. With each passing day, there was less and less skin holding the actual jewelry in place until one day, whilst taking off my panties, I head a little "ting" sound. The ring has completely pulled through the skin, fallen onto the floor, and left it's inevitable permanent marking upon my skin. I was left with what would become, a scar.

Although there was absolutely no pain when the ring fell completely out, I was still upset. I had enjoyed the look of the actual piercing for the short duration in which I had it, I was just saddened to know that I'd never get the opportunity to 'dress' it up with new types of jewelry and such. I was also looking forward to attaching chains from each of my four genital piercings and taking pictures, to be considered as art by fellow body modification enthusiasts.

Needless to say, the piercer didn't get the beautiful before and after series of photos which he had been hoping for. He did however, still take the after photo, to show future clients what can possibly happen with such surface piercings. I only wished that I had seen such photos prior to getting the Christina. Before and after photos serve their purpose of giving clients a first hand view of possible outcomes or drawbacks of any given body modification procedure. A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say.

Before I conclude, I urge everyone to do their homework. Get on-line, read the experiences of others. View before and after pictures. Speak to your local professional and be clear of any and all outcomes which you may fall victim to. Everyone heals in a different manner, what did not work for me, might very well work for you, but you can never be too knowledgeable on any topic concerning your body and/or your health.
