After I did my vertical nipples, I was looking for another piercing that could be hidden under clothes that I would normally wear. The idea of having a piercing that was not readily visible to the general public was thrilling.

Because my nipples were still very fresh and I didn't want to irritate them by doing the horizontals, I decided on a genital piercing. I didn't know what type I wanted right off so I browsed the experiences and the photo galleries to find something that was perfect. I found it.

It was called a Christina and it was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. I decided, as soon as I saw it, that I wanted it in the worst way.

I read a few more experiences and realized that this beauty had its price. It was very prone to rejection and was difficult to heal.

My body has never rejected a piercing and the thought of one rejecting "down there" was nothing short of horrifying. I've never had a problem with rejection. My body seems to take piercings very well with no special attention needed to the piercing.

I'm a self piercer. They just seem to hurt less and be more rewarding when I do them myself.

I checked myself out and saw that it seemed as though I had anatomy that was suited for having one. I wiped myself down with alcohol and drew out a couple dots. They looked a little off so I wiped them off and re-did them. I must have done this 20 times before I finally got the position right. Once the position seemed fine for me, I pulled out a sterilized, 14g needle and sterile 5/8" 14g curved barbell and set them out so that they would be easily accessible.

I have clamps and thought about using them before realizing that they would just be in the way and opting to do it freehand. The piercing itself wasn't very painful. A 5/10 at most. The jewelry insertion was a different story. I lost the end of the needle in the hole and put the jewelry in. The leading end of the barbell found the end of the needle and I followed the needle the rest of the way through. Holy fuck that was painful. It burned like nothing else. A few minutes later, it felt fine. No burning or anything. The only discomfort that I ever had was a slight pushing when I sat down sometimes. Other than that, it was a fabulous little piercing.

It swelled a little over the next week or so and oozed a bit but there was no pain. I cleaned it with a diluted alcohol mix and washed it in the shower with a very mild, unscented soap. I didn't mess with it very often until it stopped oozing and the swelling went down. Aesthetically, it's a beautiful piercing and my boyfriend adored it. Sexually, it really isn't functional but functionality is not the reason that I opted for a Christina. However, functionality is the reason that I chose to do a horizontal hood the same night.

After about a month, all the swelling for my Christina went down and there was no pain or redness at all around either of the holes. The balls were a little big so I switched them out with smaller balls. After about a month and a half, I noticed a small section of the barbell was showing at the bottom hole. I knew it wasn't a rejection but had no jewelry that would fit it and be the proper length. So, I left the slightly longer barbell in. It's wasn't too long by very much. At best, it was 1/16th of an inch too long.

This caused some...interesting problems. Somehow the bottom ball kept unscrewing itself from the barbell and I would find it in my panties when I went to the bathroom. I would screw it back on and all would be dandy until I went to the bathroom and noticed it was off again. This was irritating and after about the 6th time the ball came off, I took the barbell out. I had second thoughts and it took an act of will power to keep from putting the barbell back in.

The hole healed up and there are two very tiny spots where the holes used to be. I feel a slight pang of guilt every time I look at the little forming scars.

I miss it terribly and will redo it later on. It's a very cute piercing to have and the pain really isn't that terrible. So, if you've been considering one, go for it. I haven't seen a piercing that's more sexy and feminine than a Christina.

** Note: While I am a self piercer, I do not recommend doing piercings on yourself unless you are absolutely positive of what you are doing and the proper ways to do it. **
