I am 19 years old and the only modification I have are stretched lobes. My parents refuse to pay for my education if I "mutilate my body." It is a really terrible feeling being told you cannot control your own body. There isn't much I can do to get around my parents, so I have basically had to accept the fact that I will remain mostly un-modified until I am financially independent. One thing I can do to get around them is have hidden peircings. I looked into getting a Christina because I think they are feminine and beautiful when done right. In October after a while of contemplation I decided I would go ahead and do it. Next I needed to find a an experienced peircer who was familiar with surface peircings.

I went into Cowpok and talked to Chris. I had only heard good things from their shop and decided that talking to him was a good first step. He measured me and we talked and decided to pierce it with 10g tygon. He would have to prepare the jewelry so my friend and I went to get something to eat. When we went back he said he didn't have the right size balls to use with the tygon and he would rather not try to pierce it anyway. As much as I wanted the peircing right then and there i realized that he was right and peircing it with the wrong size jewelry was a terrible idea. He re-measured me for a surface barbell and said he would call me when it came in.

A month went by when finally I called him back to see what was going on. We set up an appointment. The day of the appointment he messaged me and asked me to call him. I did and we decided we were going to wait another week so that Jakk at express yourself could punch and taper it while Chris watched and learned how. I agreed because I love the idea of helping someone learn and one more week isn't that long. So the week went by and then it was the day for it to be done.

My friend and I drove out to Express Yourself. Jakk, Chris, and Lindsey were all there waiting. I signed all the forms and then went to the piercing room. Jakk set everything up and then cleaned the area and made the markings. It was really reassuring that everything was so clean and that he changed his gloves several times. Jakk was also really good about making sure the placement was perfect and I was happy with everything. He told me what the steps were going to be and what exactly he was going to be doing. He asked me if I was ready and I said yes.

He punched the bottom hole first. It took three twists of the punch and I heard a tiny little crunch. It was a quick sharp pain and then a slight burning sensation. I took a minute to catch my breath and then he did the top hole. This one hurt a little bit more but was still not an intolerable pain. It bled though and I felt the blood rush out, it was a strange sensation. Next he pushed the taper and jewelry through. This was a fairly painful process but was also quick. It just felt like an uncomfortable pulling and then a pop as it was pushed through the top hole. Next he screwed the bottom ball on the surface bar and cleaned me up. This was the first time he had used punch and taper on a christina but I never would have known because he didn't seem nervous at all and did such a great job. It was a little sore after and I felt like I had to waddle around but it actually wasn't that bad.

This morning it wasn't really sore when I woke up but it feels strange if my pants brush against it. I am using sea salt soaks a couple times a day. They are really soothing but difficult to maneuver in that area. If you have this type of peircing I would suggest trying a bunch of different methods of soaking to see what suits your anatomy best but what I do is use a very shallow clean small glass bowl and fill it with warm sea salt solution. Then over a bathtub or standing in a shower, put the dish over the peircing so that it sort of suctions to the skin. I leave it on there until the solution is cold. It would also be easy to soak a sterile gauze pad in the solution and careful hold it over the peircing.

I would definitely recommend Jakk as a peircer. He is very professional and sanitary. The piercing looks great and I am really happy with how it turned out.
