I got extreme2 membership to BME a couple of months ago for submitting a story and have been searching for my next piercing ever since. I came across the photo of the Christina piercing and fell in love; I knew then that I had to have it.
At A Glance Author mememe Contact mememe@bme.anon When N/A Artist Mike Location Banbury I started off by talking to my friends about it; they all hated the pictures on the site and could not understand why I would want it done. My boyfriend was also very apprehensive but knew that if I wanted it pierced then he could not have stopped me getting it done so reluctantly agreed.
My friend was due to get tattooed on a Friday, when I work; the idea was that she would make an appointment for me to get it done at that studio at a later date. I trust Mike, the artist, completely, he has tattooed me and pierced me before with wonderful skill and great advice on aftercare so I knew I would get it pierced with him and no one else.
When the Friday approached I found out that work had given me the day off due to some complicated policy so I ended up going along to make the appointment and ask more questions about the piercing. I must say that there was not many questions to ask as BME had provided me with so many of the answers to my questions, the rejection and migration rate etc, I would say that anyone looking to getting pierced should read as many stories on here as possible as it gives you a real understanding of the care you should expect to have to give it, as well as the results.
So anyway I was at the studio. It turned out Mike was free and was staying to oversee the apprentice who was doing my friends tattoo. Now I'm a believer in fate, not only did I get the day off of work unexpectedly but also Mike who's normally up to his ears in work was free. I asked him if he could do the piercing then and there, after clarifying what part I meant, he agreed and set up his studio for the piercing.
I asked him about what size the bar would be, he showed me a surface bar which he would then bend into shape to fit my measurements. He went through the whole speech about the hygiene procedure and the risks involved, rejection migration and infection. My moral support friend told me that she would hold my hand though she did not want me to get it done, and so we went into the studio area.
I went and sat on his chair, he locked the door to the main studio so that we would not be disturbed, and put up a screen between me and the rest of the studio so that it was just Mike, me and my moral support friend. I then pulled down my trousers and pants, to be honest that was the most daunting part; flashing at a friend, after that was done it was all fine. Then my friend getting tattooed passed out. Mike went to go check on her, leaving my friend standing next to me while I was half naked.... this was awkward I just mumbled about being scared as hell. But soon enough the adrenaline kicked in and I was not afraid of the pain or the fact that I was half naked in front of a friend who was about to see me get pierced. Mike soon returned after my friend came around.
He cleaned the area (pre-shaved) and took measurements. Then bent the bar to fit me and marked the holes. Then he put the clamps on, which hurt A LOT, at the bottom more than the top it was burning pain. After checking everything over once again he said ' I'll make this quick for you', I breathed in deeply then on my out breath he pierced me. It stung, the most intense pain for about five seconds. There was some discomfort when he took the needle out, and more when he put the bar in. after that that was it, no throbbing pain I got after my other piercings, nothing but those few seconds of pain and discomfort. I stayed still lying down for about a minute. My friend said that she thought it was gorgeous. Mike cleaned up the few drops of blood and told me I could stay lying down for as long as I wanted as I looked a bit pale (I felt a bit dizzy). After the dizziness had worn off I got up and looked in the mirror at my newest piercing. I loved it, it was exactly how I thought it would be, there was no redness, and it was just perfect.
After my friends tattoo was finished and we paid we left and went to a friend's house to show our newest modifications, after flashing to one friend I had no reservations at flashing a few more. They all agreed it looked better then what they thought it would and could not believe I went and got it pierced when I was only supposed to make the appointment.
That was two weeks ago. Since then it swelled up slightly but that's gone down. Its now healing fine, I'm cleaning it regularly with antiseptic and trying to avoid getting soap into it in the shower. My boyfriend now loves it and everyone who has seen it thinks its sweet. Anyone considering this piercing should be aware of the risks and pain factor, but I think it was well worth all of it, as I love it, I'm just plucking up the courage to tell my mother.
