I have a pair of piercings "down below", that I love, and have yet to come across anyone else with the exact same piercing placement, so I'm not sure how to classify them. Last September, I found myself yet again craving the needle. My job at the time was conservative and forbade visible piercings or tattoos, so none of my modifications are visible( I am no longer employed there and hoping to change that). I was at a loss for what to pierce, as I already had my navel and my left nipple pierced, as well as an eight gauge horizontal hood piercing, and one stretched 2g. inner labia ring. I called my piercing studio, and just made an appointment for "some piercings", i figured that I would just add more labia rings.

When I got to Art of the Ages, bringing my friend who had been assigned the duty of wuss prevention , I still wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I knew I wanted at least two piercings, somewhere in my genitals. Outer labia piercings have always sounded like too much hassle, Christinas seemed too decorative(as opposed to sexually enhancing), and I didn't want a fourchette yet, as I had no sexual partner at the time, and I wanted selfishly,a piercing that I could enjoy myself. My piercer isn't fond of vertical hood piercings, because he feels that for most women, they overstimulate. I have friends that back up that statement.

So, after much deliberation, Phil suggested that we pierce the other side of my labia, to even it out, and then put two piercings very low in my hood, one on each side, down at the bottom of my hood near my clit. So they're not horizontal piercings, as they don't connect with one ring, but they're not vertical, either, or at least they don't have the traditional upper central placement that almost all vertical hood piercings have. I guess you could call them side hoods.. I just call them my hoodies.

Then came the easy part, after the piercings were marked. I am used to having clamps on my crotch, so they didn't bother me. I wanted captive bead rings. We had decided on 14 g. to start out with, as that skin is pretty thin on me. The needle went in... NOTHING could prepare me for that sensation. I barely felt my other genital piercings, and my nipple hurt a lot, but these ones TICKLED! Almost to the point where I had to pee again, although I already relieved myself about fifteen times beforehand. I almost made him stop after the first hole, it was so intense, i guess because the placement was very close to my actual clit, and because I am really ticklish anyway. It felt like there were tingly nerves radiating through my whole body, almost an electric sensation. It wasn't like any pain I had known before, it was just really bizarre. I tried to tell him that I was done for the day. But then my friend did her job, and started making fun of me. "dude, you can't wimp out now. It would look stupid with just the one side", she said. She was right, I looked in the mirror, and the right side of my hood looked very naked. I decided to go through with the other side, and I'm glad I did, even though the right side was just as tickly/painful as the left. They look beautiful, although I was shaking from the procedure. I had to put off my third hole for another day, because my endorphin rush was kicking in, and I felt high and lightheaded. My friend didn't pick on me too much, I guess because I went through the first two. They didn't bleed at all.

I was lightheaded for a few more hours, but there was no pain at all. I felt better after I'd had a drink (chocolate milk). Even if one of my other rings hit against them, It didn't hurt! I cleaned them about three hours later, and could easily twist the rings.

I cleaned them religiously with antibacterial soap for the supposed two week healing time, but really, they were healed in two days. It was great, even as they were healing, just walking to the car felt pretty good. Since then, I have stretched them to twelve gauges, and plan to eventually buy segmented rings for them, as the only discomfort I've experienced from them has been the beads sometimes pressing too hard against my skin. They were the fastest healing piercings I've had, and no complications. My advice for someone who wants to try this is: don't try to put one ring in both piercings. It's really annoying if you wear pants at all, ever! Also, you may not have much luck with horseshoe barbells as the beads tend to twist off. If you are ever in the State College area, I highly recommend Art of the Ages, they're the best!
