I've been reviewing a lot of experiences lately and had a bit of a guilt trip about the fact that despite having 8 piercings and tattoo myself, I'd never written any of them up. I could start with my first, a self-done labial piercing, completed with a set of compasses and a wine cork about 16 years ago, since cautionary tales probably have as much value as trouble free experiences. Instead, on account of its relative rarity as a piercing, this is the story of my Princess Albertina.I've always been heavily into symbolism and this piercing could scarcely be more symbolic. I had recently separated from my husband and partner of 21 years and started a relationship with Allan, Bearcub to those on IAM. The PA was my way of showing Allan that I was ready to commit to a future with him. I guess you could liken it to an engagement ring, though it would be a little less obvious to passers by! Also since Allan was going to perform the procedure, we maximised the shared aspects of the experience.
The Build Up
I travelled up to Edinburgh, a 4 hour drive, lost in my thoughts. I hardly noticed the journey. In addition to the PA and an additional outer labial piercing we were planning to spend an evening of light bondage and play piercing so I was a morass of excited, scared and loving emotions. For those of you who know me from IAM, the strawberry picture was created on the first day and in a rites of passage moment I was able to let Allan play pierce my clitoris, but that's a different story that I will write sometime, I promise. If you can't wait you can always go and see what happened in our shared gallery on BME hard. Allan had ordered the necessary needles and between us we had a wide selection of jewellery. I had read as many experiences on PA's as I could find though I couldn't locate anyone in the UK who had a PA. For his part Allan spoke to Patrick (MasterPatrick on IAM) who had performed the procedure on a number of occasions. It seemed that it was a rarely performed piercing on account of the difficulty in "getting in there to do it", the supposed high chance of infection and the pain inflicted on the recipient.I have never been aversed to urethral sounding, actually I quite like it, I couldn't see that the infection issue could be so bad, since we weren't going anywhere near my bladder and urine makes a great antiseptic wash, so all I had to manage was the pain. That was one of the reasons I wanted to complete the play piercing the night before. My logic was, "what can possibly be more intense than having a needle poked through your clit!"
The Procedure
Evening fell and my opportunities for prevarication and procrastination were gently removed by Allan. It was time. We had a brief discussion about which size needle to use. The smallest possible was my choice. I reasoned that if this worked, it had to be an easy piercing to stretch! Plus I was absolutely bricking it (UK term for being as scared as an extremely scared thing indeed!) I chose the initial jewellery to be a 1.6mm 15mm internal diameter CBR, that I think had previously resided in Allan's ear.I lay on the bed and prepared mentally while Allan got things ready at his end. I have only sketchy memories of what happened, fortunately the procedural photographs are in the BME hard PA gallery and I'm sure if you are interested Allan will be happy to answer questions.
Allan was using a cannualted needle, sorry I don't recall the gauge, but it's safe to assume it was just right to take the 1.6mm ring afterwards. I spread my legs to the point of discomfort and Allan slipped the needle (cannula pulled down over the tip) into my urethra. It was a little uncomfortable, I guess more uncomfortable than normal sounding due to my slightly anxious state, but perfectly ok. I was really worried about inadvertently clamping my knees around Allan's ears as the needle went through and possibly wreaking internal damage to myself, so contrary to normal advice I tensioned the muscles in my legs and pulled my knees apart with my arms. I was really scared, despite enjoying play piercing I don't like pain, not one little bit. I was so tense I noticed that I was getting cramp in the thighs and biceps. My teeth were clenched so tight it hurt. "Ready," I said, "what for said," Allan, I've already done it!
That's right I did not feel the needle pass through my urethral wall. Allan stuck a cork on the needle while he took a photo, then he removed it and fed the ring through the cannula, put the ball in and we were done. I almost felt cheated, though I did have a wide range of aching muscles the following day!
Aftermath and Learnings
There was a little bleeding, no pain, no infection and no problems. The first time I passed urine I got a few blood clots and an amusingly pink stream, but that was it. I'm not good at healing but I think this was fully healed in a week. I was right about how easy it is to stretch, I was able to get up to 4mm in one go about a month later. There was no pain associated with the stretch, just a strange dull sensation. and it feels more stable for having larger diameter jewellery.I also have a triangle and vertical clitoris hood piercings and can honestly say that I get more in-use stimulation from the PA. I found that I can wear a barbell inside out, i.e. with one ball on the outside of the piercing and the other end inside my urethra, pointing towards my bladder and my g-spot, which provides unique sensations. Allan and I have to be careful about jewellery clashes. He has a PA and an ampallang, both of which have a propensity for getting caught in my PA if we are careless. I also have a few problems with Allan's amp balls getting caught in my stretched urethral opening if I'm not wearing the PA. It feels strange and probably a lot more serious than it really is. I can imagine that this would be worse still with an apadrayva!
I guess the only other complication is jewellery changes. I'm not the world's most flexible person and I'm not too long in the arm. The PA is in a dark, dampish, relatively hard to get at place, which means that getting the closures attached in damnably fiddly while dropping them necessitates a good shake out!
So in conclusion; if you can stand having anything in your urethra and can find anyone to go through with the procedure, I can wholeheartedly recommend getting an Albertina.

Thank you Allan. I love you.
