It had to have been around 5 years ago while working at Pleasurable Piercings, one of the members of the Association of Professional Piercers had stopped by to check out our facility. I spoke with her about the genital piercings that I had and of my interest in getting the 'Fourchette', a piercing that which at that point, I had little knowledge of and had only heard of two or three woman who had it.

At the time I had the clitoral hood and the inner labia done and thought that the Fourchette piercing would make a great addition to my collection. Since no one had yet done a Fourchette piercing at Pleasurable Piercings Inc., I decided to go ahead and "guinny" for the good of the cause. Thank god for people who are willing to sit for the 'first times'.. right? (Nuts? probably so.)

Pleasurable Piercing Inc had an amazing showroom, an amazing jewelry selection, top of the line equipment and a great staff. (and still does I am sure, even though I am not there anymore.) But I guess all in all getting genital piercings for woman can be a bit uncomfortable, especially when you have onlookers learning the procedure as it is being done. Yup thats right, all of the piercers that Pleasurable Piercings Inc had at the time, all came in and watched as yours truly got pierced. Lucky for me right? All my peers got to watch me sit for this rather exposed piercing. GREAT. It actually was not too terribly bad for me, having had genital piercings done before. But still my co-workers? Lord have mercy! However, I must say, the educational part of it was different, they were all very serious, very professional and VERY interested in learning this the correct, safe way. We used a 3/8 12g captive bead ring.

It was easily the fastest and least painful piercing I had ever gotten. I mean shoot, after it was done, I was dancing around Pleasurable Piercings Showroom like the fool that I am. Seriously though, the healing time was less than a week (for ME) and in no time I had stretched up to a 6g. I always have a fairly quick healing time, especially with genital piercings. I think that this is the case for most women, unless you are absolutely funky. And if that is the case, please do not get pierced. But for me, within days I really think that I could have swung from it, or somebody could have. ha ha. My quick healing came as a bit of a shock to me, because while I was talking to the person from the Association of Professional Piercers, she had told me that the Fourchette was a very difficult piercing to heal and they had a high infection rate due to the 'meatiness' of the skin where the piercing itself is located. She actually got wicked descriptive and I nearly backed out of the piercing all together but I am glad I did NOT. I do not know, I guess I was very lucky, because the horrific infection and pain story, just was not the case for me, it was quite the opposite actually. ( lord know I sure am not whining about that!)

The learning process? Well, lets see, the one thing that we did learn from the whole 'first time' experience of piercing the Fourchette was to go deeper. The piercing that was done on me that day was not done quite deep enough and eventually the weight of the jewelry caused such a stretch that.. you guess it, months later while showering, I heard the lovely sound of jewelry hitting the tub. I totally miss the Fourchette piercing. It looks / looked AMAZING. It is a great piercing, easy to heal. Quick, fabulous.

The funny part? I think the thing that humors me the most about the piercings that I have had over the years was the order in which I had gotten them. Ears were first of course (shoot, I was still in grade school for those) nose, navel, tongue then onto genitals and from there - well the rest is just pure mayhem. I believe that at one point I was up to around 25 or 30! Sheesh!

I have been asked over the years what of all of these piercings was my favorite and I am sticking to my story.. THE FOURCHETTE! and my Nape ran a close second!! So I am telling you, LADIES, if you are thinking about getting another or just looking for a starting point for genital piercings, go for the Fourchette. You will be amazed at its healing time, how easy it it to take care of and best of all, how great it looks. GO AND GET IT, you will totally not regret it.
