I had been planning my next piercing for sometime, I had originally thought to get a horizontal hood. I did not know too many other female genital piercing at the time. I spend quite a few hours on BME looking at photos and such. I came across something called a Christina on my search. To me, this was such a beautiful piercing. I found it was a page I kept going back to and back to yet again when I would go look for piercing photos. I knew it was what I needed to get. I never read and experience about a Christina. Which, I think I am happy about, because I went into the piercer with a head free of preconceived notions about what it would be like.

This was to be my first surface piercing. In such a spot that I didn't really know what to expect. I had a friend of mine take me over to Inkredible Ink, in Downtown Orlando. I had made up my mind to not go to my regular piercer for this for many reasons. I think this experience will actually change where I go for all of my piercings.

PJ was to perform the piercing. I knew he didn't have any experience with the Christina. But I did look through his portfolio, and he has done many surface piercing. And since this is just a surface piercing in pubic area, I felt comfortable with him doing it.

Inkcredible Ink is a nice shop located right in the middle of Downtown Orlando, but this was my first visit there. The place was fairly packed with people out getting spur of the moment tattoos, before hitting the clubs. We had made an appointment. It was about 9:30 or so when we got there. We went in and looked around a bit. PJ came out, and I liked him right away. He was very nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. We didn't talk much in the waiting room. I had to wait a considerable amount of time because of all the other people that were there. I was very surprised to find that I wasn't nervous at all for this piercing, which for me, was a first. I don't usually panic or anything like that, but I really had a nice little inner calm going on for it. This was a piercing that I have been looking forward to getting for weeks and weeks now.

So finally it's my turn. We head back into the room PJ uses for his piercings. It was nothing fancy, but it was clean. We got to talking a bit, he checked out my friends um ... equipment ... because he had been having some problems with his piercing. This got us on the topic of aftercare right off the bat. Discussed the pros and cons of using sea salt and tea tree oil to heal up a piercing.

After about ten minutes or so. It was time! I got undressed. I was wearing tight jeans and huge boots. So it was a bit awkward getting undressed in a small room with two guys. I was instructed to lay back on the table (one of those cushy black padded ones) while he prepped me for the piercing. I don't know what he used to clean it. It made my skin all yellow. He spent a good deal of time going at me with the marker. Drawing and redrawing the marks. This was his first Christina, and he wanted it to be perfect. He talked to me about the procedure and stuff the whole time he was doing this. I asked him questions about surface piercings and the likelihood that it would migrate. He told me, that with all surface piercings, there was a high chance of migrations. Although he felt that by piercing deep and using a curved barbell that this would help narrow the chance of migration.

Finally I was all marked up and ready to go. He fitted with me clamps. Very uncomfortable. I was to take a deep breath in and when I exhaled he would perform the piercing. I was still so calm at this point. Maybe it was me showing off for my friend (who had chickened out of getting his PA done that night). Either way, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in, held it for a moment and released it slowly. I won't say it didn't hurt. Because it did. Not so much that I flinched, jerked, or moved in anyway. Unlike my hood piercing, which was a sharp prick of pain, this was more of a painful sensation that any sort of direct pain. He corked the needle and let my friend snap a few photos for all my buddies at BME.

After that I was home free. He fitted me with a sss 14 gauge curved barbell. That hurt a bit more going in. But after the initial piercing, who cares! Because you know it all almost over. So after my newest bit of jewelry was in my friend took a few more photos. Then I got to stand up and really look at my piercing for the time. I was in love! It was perfect. Nice and straight. I was not bleeding at all. And it looked so good with my vertical hood. PJ asked if he could take a photo of it for his portfolio. I gladly agreed.

He asked if I would stop by again in about 3 weeks, just so he could see how it was doing. He gave me a page of aftercare instructions. But didn't really cover much else, because he said he felt confident that I knew what I was doing as far as cleaning a piercing. We all walked out of the room, me with a big smile on my face. I grabbed a business card and was out the door.

I was expecting the piercing to be at least sore, if not painful. I didn't feel it at all until maybe an hour later. But it didn't hurt, it was just a dull throb. I've had my piercing now for exactly 14 hours. It still has not bled, and does not hurt a bit.
