I had a few piercings already and I wanted something new. I hadn't had any new genital piercings for a while, so I decided that I wanted to find something interesting to add 'down there'.

I looked on BME and found the fourchette and liked the look of it.

After a few days (and a few more visits to BME to look again)I decided that I needed information about this cute looking piercing.

Peoples experiences differed so much, some saying it was painful, others saying it wasn't. Migration seemed to be a real problem with it too. In the end, I decided that the only way I'd know for sure was to get it done!

Because of one thing and another, I wasn't able to get to my piercer for a few months, and when the opportunity came to go, I jumped at it.

My husband had the day off from work and was driving me down to Perforations in Brighton, the studio that we have been going to for about 10 years.Even though I've been pierced before, and I know what to expect, I still get nervous, and today I was shaking like a leaf! (I know that piercers see peoples genitals every day, but I still don't like having mine on show). We got to Perforations and lucky for us they weren't too busy at that time so I could be done without a wait. I signed the necessary paperwork, and Dom (who was going to do my piercing) led us both down the stairs to one of the piercing rooms.

One of the reasons we go to Perforations is that all the piercers there treat you like a human being, they don't see you as walking money. Another reason is that they know what they're doing, unlike some of the 'piercers' around. And I know that cleanliness is paramount to them

We got to the room and Dom explained that not everyone was built to have a fourchette, and that he wouldn't do one for me if he thought it would have a high risk of rejection.Because of this, he would have to look at the area and decide. Now came the part I always hate, getting undressed.I put my jeans and underwear in a neat pile and got onto the couch. Then Dom swung the stirrups into position.Dom explained again about making sure I could have this piercing, and said that he was sorry if I found it uncomfortable. He felt the area and decided I could have it done.At this point I was still finding laying there with my legs wide open very embarrassing.Being the wimp what I am, I decided to have the topical anaesthetic. As Dom sprayed me, I wished I hadn't had it because it felt horrible, like the area was getting red hot.He said we'd leave it to do it's work for a few minutes, and started chatting. Dom is a very good piercer (they all are at Perforations) and is also very good at putting you at your ease. So much so that after about 5 minutes, I'd forgotten I was laying there with everything on show.

He asked if I was ready, and I said yes. He started to clamp the area to be pierced, and I grabbed my husbands hand as tight as I could. I've never liked clamps! He said he was ready to pierce and I may feel it slightly. Once again I grabbed my husbands hand and squeezed. I squeezed so hard that I'm sure it must have hurt him, but being the good guy he is, he just smiled. I shut my eyes.I waited for the pain...and I waited, and waited...Then Dom turned away. I wondered if he'd decided I couldn't have it after all? He turned back with a bcr in his hand and said he was just going to put it in. So he'd done it!I didn't feel a thing!I was SO sure that this was going to hurt that I'd worked myself into a state about it.

Dom told me the aftercare routine, and had another little chat as I looked at my new addition in a mirror.Even though it hadn't bled, I thought it may on the way home, so I used a thick sanitary pad just in case.Feeling very pleased, I got dressed again. We went back upstairs and paid. After a quick chat with the other piercers in the waiting room, it was time to go home.It was a 90 minute drive and it still didn't hurt. It was a little uncomfortable on the road out of Brighton (bump after bump) but never painful. When we arrived home, I found it had bled quite a lot, so I was glad that I'd used the pad.It bled a little for the next day or so, but not badly and still didn't give me any pain. The aftercare was simple, I used warm salt water 3 times a day. I also had to be careful when using the toilet, if I knocked it, it would start to bleed a little.

I never had a problem in the time it was healing, it just seemed too good to be true. The only problem was the same as getting any genital piercing, no sex. But, Dom had explained that although penetration wasn't allowed, clitoral stimulation was ok, just as long as we remembered and didn't let it develop into any kind of vaginal play.

After about 8 weeks, it seemed to be fully healed but, I noticed that the ring seemed to be pulling the piercing down and I was worried that it may reject if I kept the ring in.I bought a curved barbell and put that in and since then I've not had a single problem. I'd been told that some women find that it gets in the way or feels sore when having sex, but I've never had any of those problems. The only problem I've had is losing jewellery down the toilet, so I keep a few new pieces just in case.

I'm glad I got it done, it looks good and feels great, I wish I'd got it done years ago.
