Last week I went home to Miami for my spring break. I was talking to my piercer, Noel at New Age Piercing in Coconut Grove about what I could get done. New Age is the best piercing studio anywhere. Inside its beautiful, clean, Noel has his artwork up on the walls, and it just has a great ambiance. They also have their own clothing line and the biggest selection of jewelry I've seen. The rest of the staff rocks too. Lissette, Luis, and Eric are all very sweet people. I will not go anywhere but New Age for my piercings nor do I let my friends go elsewhere. Right now I have both nipples done, my rook, tragus, and an industrial.

I have always been interested in getting a piercing "down there". But I'm already very sensitive, and I'm pretty active with sports and stuff. So something like a clit piercing just seemed like it would be a nuisance. I didn't even know what a Christina piercing was before Noel told me. Immediately I thought it was super cute, and I decided I wanted it. I waited a week so I didn't have to worry about being careful with it during my spring break, and to give myself sometime to get used to the idea. I also checked out the Christina picture you guys have on BME and read some people's stories. I showed the picture of the Christina to a few of my guy friends. Almost every one of them told me they thought it was nasty, repulsive, scary, and one even said if they saw it on a girl they would run away. I didn't get a positive response from many people. For some reason that reaction didn't turn me off from getting my Christina done. I get piercings for myself, not for other peop le. And I knew I really liked this one.

Well the day had come. I called up New Age and asked if I could go in later that day to do it. Of course it was cool. So I drove over to the grove with my best friend, Christina, to get my Christina pierced. I have a few piercings, but the more I get, the more squeamish and nervous I get prior to the piercing. I don't know why. But this time, the nervousness hadn't kicked in. The stories I read on BME made it seem like the Christina wouldn't be that bad. I wore a little dress for easier access. I was ready. I had my best friend Christina stay in the room with me for moral support.

Noel had me lie on the piercing chair (that is like the ones in the dentist office) as he prepared everything and picked out my jewelry. It's a 12 gauge-curved barbell. He raised the chair so my "area" was at a level he could work at. I let my legs hang down on either side of the chair as I lied back and started concentrating on my breathing. I'm sorry I can't really describe the exact procedure; I was closing my eyes and trying to get relaxed. For the people who say the Christina doesn't hurt, you are hardcore bitches. It did hurt like mad for what seemed like an eternity (really only about 5 seconds). It wasn't an instant, quick, little piercing. At the peak, my hips spazzed and I flinched off the chair. I'm sure Noel wanted to smack me. That has to be so scary for a piercer. But then he got me relaxed again. The piercing did hurt, but I was perfectly fine right after, I didn't get light headed at all. There wasn't even a drop of blood, which surprised me. I figure there are so many nerves down there that it would bleed all over me. I'd say the most painful part is the needle pushing through making the second hole on top. Putting the jewelry in didn't hurt at all.

It's been three days since I got pierced. I have been being really careful with my Christina. I wash her three times a day with lever 2000, and then turn it a few times under warm water. I just found out that Lever 2000 has deodorants in it, making it a bad product for piercings. I think I'll switch to Dial anti-bacterial soap today. And I know people have different opinions on it, but I've been using bactine spray as well, I'll probably only do that for the first week. I've also started doing salt soaks at night. When it feels sore, I'll heat up a cup of water and sit with it between my thighs resting by the piercing. That is really soothing and I'm thinking it helps the blood flow too.

The barbell I have in now is a bit long, which helps make it easier to clean, and Noel says it lets the piercing breathe. But it's kind of annoying because the bottom of the ring hits the top of my clit, which jostles the still sensitive piercing around. Once it heals I think that unintentional clit stimulation will be pretty nice, but right now its just annoying. I'll be going home at the end of the semester (about 5 weeks) and I think I'll get a shorter bar then, maybe with smaller balls that have rhinestones in them. That will be cute.

If you have ever thought of getting a genital piercing but are somewhat hesitant, get a Christina! I absolutely adore mine. It's super feminine, beautiful, and sexy. It's by far my favorite piercing. I love the way it looks on me. It did hurt, but it only hurts right when you do it. I feel perfectly normal with it now. I'm still a bit sensitive and sore, but it's very minimal. You'll want to take some extra precautions to play it safe...sleep with a pillow between your knees, don't wear jeans all the time, and watch out crossing your legs. You get used to it, and hopefully in another week or two, I won't even have to be so cautious.

If anyone knows the story behind why this piercing is called a Christina, please email me and let me know. I'm very interested. Also I'm allergic to tea tree oil because it's made from melaleuca trees. Does anyone know of a similar product I can use as an alternative to the tea tree oil?

Oh, and check out www.newagepiercing.com if you are in South Florida. My Christina picture should be up there soon.
