My favorite piercing of 22 |

I recently got a Christina piercing after waiting for so long. I have always wanted to get one and alas I finally got the courage to go and get it done. I had been thinking about it quite a long time since I saw it on BME. I read the few experiences that were on the board because I wanted to know as much as possible. I thought it looked really neat, but I was unsure of how well I would be able to do the normal things in life. My job requires an immense ammount of walking so it was crutial that I was able to preform normal tasks.I went into the piercing studio after a long time of thinking of the pros and cons of the procedure. As always the pros outweighed the cons. I asked if he had ever done it before and he was more than happy to provide me with names and phone numbers of previous satisfied customers and to me that was very impressive. I was so extremely happy that I was going to go through with the procedure. I decided to wait till I had a couple of days off in a row just incase it needed a few days for me to adjust to it.
So last weekend I decided I couldn't wait longer before having my next piercing, and that it would be a Christina. I went to the shop, to gather some more information. I had seen it pierced with a captive bead ring, and also a curved bar bell. I went ahead and chose to have it done with the curved bar bell in hopes that it wouldn't grow out and I honestly hoped that my body wouldn't reject the piercing.
I went to the shop with my best friend. I was kinda nerveous, but then I was thinking of how much joy this would bring once it was healed. I was hoping it would not hurt too much. I have had many piercings and none of them had really hurt, but I hadn't had anything pierced below the belt and I was scared of the pain. But it's like the saying says... no pain...no gain.
Finally I walked into the piercing room. It was so clean and neat. It looked better than some doctors offices that I went into before. He was ready and he made sure that I was ready as well. He took my id to assure that I was of age and I filled out these wonderful forms. I assume that they are for both of our protection.
There I was laying on the table. He was gathering all of his tools and the suspense grew in large ammounts by the second. I was rather nerveous and having my friend there with me helped me quite a bit. Some places are really strict about not letting others in the room, but I was glad to know that I would have my friend by my side at all times during the procedure. After I removed my clothing he disinfected the area. It was a cold substance and it gave me goose bumps. Then he marked where the curved bar bell would be placed. After I looked to give him assurance that it was correctly marked he placed the clamps on. A lot of people have complained that the clamps were painful, but that wasn't true in my case. After the clamps were on I was told to breath in and before I could react the needle was already through and the jewelry was just about to go in. I was really surprised that I didn't cry or scream but I've always been good at taking pain. Getting pierced is such a rush for me, and honestly I think it's highly addictive. Everytime I get a new piercing I start to think of what I can do next. Some say it's a fad, but I think of my piercings as a part of who I am. I absolutely loved the way it looked.
The piercing doesn't hurt or interrupt me walking and doing the normal things that I need to do. It isn't sore but I know it will take a long while for it to heal like 3 or 4 months. I've been cleaning my piercing with warm saltwater. It has been working exceptionally well. I encourage anyone who wishes to have this piercing to do so. It looks great, and there isn't a whole lot of pain involved. My friend has decided that she too wants to get a christina piercing and I'll be there just the same way she was there for me. My boyfriend loves my piercing just as much if not more than I like it. I think my next project is going to be my tragus.
