I had wanted a set of six labia piercings for a few years but being a total 'fraidy cat stopped me from completing the project. After getting the first two in the set pierced and finding it very painful I wasn't too sure about finishing. My friend, a professional piercer who performed the first stage of the work, suggested using Xylocaine gel, which I initially though was a total cop out. I have always been in the mode of thinking that if one cant handle the pain, one shouldn't get the work done. When it came to this though, I was more easily swayed. I just wanted them so bad. When preparing the equipment my Piercer told me about his theory on the matter.

So I did it. I'll admit it. I'm not that ashamed to say I sold out and and rubbed a tiny bit of the gel onto the intended areas. I pulled up my skirt, lay down on the table and took a few deep breaths. Even though I had used the topical anaesthetic, I wasn't sure of what effect, if any, it would have. My friend unpeeled the needle packets, unwrapped the clamps and got the two 7mm rings out of their sealed bags as I watched and tried to keep my nervousness at bay. We waited a few minutes for the gel to take its effect, then, after checking out the markings in a mirror, we began.
My friend is very good at relaxing people who are feeling particularly nervous (as I was) by using a very calming, even tone as he explains the process. He allowed me to take my time, and when I felt ready he told me to take three deep breaths. On the third he pushed the needle through my skin. The gel helped, and though it still hurt, it seemed to take the edge off the pain. Instead of the big, shocking pain that made my body jolt from the hips, it was a quick, sharp stinging pain that was a lot more tolerable. I was so happy with the result that I told him to do the other one quickly, and he did. It was the same, not pain free, but bearable. I left the studio feeling very satisfied. I waited two weeks before getting the last stage done. The piercings were sore for about seven days, especially if I had to wear anything close fitting, like my work pants. I used saline to keep them clean and had no problems, apart from the fact that the saline was really cold on my bits, but I got over that quickly. When I went back to the studio I had very little fear, I felt very confident and we got underway quickly. I used a little of the gel again and was surprised at my lack of nervousness. I have rarely gone to have a piercing done and felt so confident. They were pierced quickly with the same seven mil captive-bead rings as the others. I took care of them the same as all the others and they took about a week to stop feeling sore. The only problem I had was when one of the captive beads fell out (who knows how, they were in so tight!) during my lunch break and I spent the best part of half an hour trying to get the little bastard back in place with only my gloved hands, as I have no tools for such things.
I am extremely satisfied with the result. I love the look of my piercings, enjoy the feel of having them there, though I do have to be more careful than I used to, having so many attachments down there. I am told that now I know how guys feel, with all that stuff between their legs and every so often I'll sit down on them wrong and spring up again real quick. I have lost all fear about just stuffing my hand into my pants and adjusting them when they get twisted around each other. The best part about it is that I now jingle and clink every so often, which is something I find hilarious and that no one else seems to get. People seem really confused if I tell them I have so many piercings there and I've had so many interesting conversations trying to explain how they are set out and why I would want that many there anyway. I don't think I will get any more genital piercings, but then again, that's what I always say and I just keep getting more...
So watch this space.
