Okay. First off, I'd just like to say that you should not do this on your own, or have anyone do it who is not a professional. It could mess things up a lot and cause you a lot of grief.

Okay, with that said, let's begin. I'd wanted both my inner labia pierced for a while, now. I'd had the right side pierced years before and had removed it, but now I wanted both. The whole semmitry thing. So that was the plan to do, last night. My boyfriend, J. would pierce both my inner labia, then we'd take a nice hot shower together. I figured the warm water would feel good.
We both started setting up things. Him and I have both done lots of piercings before, but this was his first time attempting this one. I set out rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, plenty of paper towels, and 'sterilized' the new jewelry by boiling it. (I know, I know. Use an autoclave!) We got everything set up in the bathroom, and I sat up on the counter.
I didn't really remember the pain factor about the last time I had my labia pierced, so I was nervous. I only remembered it burning when I went to the bathroom. But on with it... J. marked the spot on my right labia that I wanted pierced, and took a flash light to check for veins. Only one vein, but it was to (my) right of the spot to be pierced. So we were good. Or at least J. thought. He stretched out my labia so it was taught, and told me to take a deep breath in. I did, and I could feel him poke me so I jerked and told him to stop. This was the beginning of a long process.
Again, he tried it. Again I felt the poke and yelped for him to stop. I don't get it. I never used to be such a pansy when it comes to piercings. J. left the room for a few minutes, and I sat on the counter with my legs spread; holding the needle and hoping I could do this. I poked at it, just to test the pain. (I know this was a dumb idea, too. Don't do it.) It didn't feel too bad.
J. came back in the room, and asked if I was ready yet. I said yes, and breathed. I again jerked and told him no. (What a loser, right?) I told him to just poke me. He did, and asked if it hurt. I said no, and to do it harder. He asked again if it hurt and this time it started to. Then I could feel the needle go through to the other side. I told him to stop. So I'm sitting there with the needle through my labia - not even far enough for the whole hollowed point to be through. I told him to come back in a few minutes, so I could gather myself.
J. asked if I would do this if I went to a professional piercer. I said no, so he asked me not to do it to him. I said I'd try, and again asked him to come back in a few minutes. When he left I started fiddling around with the needle, grasping my labia and pushing the needle through little by little. Finally I got the tapered part through, and slid the needle about half way through. That part didn't hurt at all. So I called J. back into the room, and he smiled that I'd gotten it. He asked if he could take a few pictures with the digital camera, and I said yes. So he took the pictures with the needle still through. I plan to submit those to you, by the way.
After taking the pictures, J. washed his hands, and got the jewelry. For the time being, I decided to put a short labret stud in the hole. There's a little red jewel at the end of the ball, and I thought it would look really cute. J. put the stud in the back of the needle, and slid it the rest of the way through, then put on the ball. It looked so cute, and now it didn't even hurt.
Again I would advise you all to not do this at home. Really, don't. I only did because I trusted both myself and my boyfriend, J.
So far it hasn't really bothered me. It was only done last night though, so who knows. The hot shower afterward felt really good on it; and it doesn't really burn when I pee. I have a trick for that. When I had my son the hospital gave me a little bottle that you fill with water and squeeze on yourself when you use the rest room. I've been using that when I pee, so I don't even notice.
