I had gotten a hood piercing a year and a half or so previously and then about two months or so before, had gotten a surface piercing on my pubic mound. I spent a great deal of time trying to determine what I wanted to look like "down there" and so decided that matching inner labia piercings would be the way to go. I spent some time looking at pictures and determining what I wanted before decided that matching inner labia piercings were the way to go.
I went down to the Pin Cushion after work on the day I had decided to go for it. There were some people there hanging around with David, the piercer on duty. I am also friends with David, so it was cool. He asked what I wanted to do that day, as I was on a bit of a piercing spree, and I told him. I wanted to do both sides that night. There weren't two silver 16 ga rings in the shop that night, though, so he went looking through what he had and there were several multicolored rings, used to pierce navels. Laughing, I said, "I want green ones!" So, briefly, I was the "multi-colored snatch" girl. We briefly discussed placement and I started filling out the paper work while he went outside to smoke for a minute.
Mental preparation for genital piercing is something that I can't really describe. You know it is coming, and you know it is going to hurt A LOT (my genital piercings hurt more than any other piercings that I have gotten), but you want the piercing and so are willing to go through with it.
After filling out the paper work, I stepped outside with David and the folks he was talking to and we discussed piercings and hair and what was going on, it was relaxing and that was good. When he finished his cigarette, we headed back inside and he started to get ready. I sat on the table and babbled nervously about something, I don't really remember what. Then, when he had all of his equipment set up and was ready to get started, he looked at me and said, "Okay, you have to take your clothes off now." I hate getting naked in front of anyone, the shop's particularly unflattering lighting made me anxious, but I was going to go for it, and I had been naked from the waist down there before, so I took a deep breath and took off my jeans and underwear. Dave spread a piece of paper towel across the end of the table and apologized for not having a more professional "gyno table" that had stirrups. I said that it was fine, and sat on the table. I put on feet on the nearby counter and on the trash can and then began to seriously prepare myself.
While Dave was putting on his gloves and putting on his "serious piercer" face, I started chatting about a story I had heard about a girl who had gotten some inner labia piercing and had used topical anesthetic before getting it done. This was something that sounded good to me as I like the look of genital piercings but not the pain you have to go through to get them. We were discussing whether or not the girl was "deserving" of the piercing as I felt that as long as you end up with them, you should be good to go. Dave thought that you needed to go through the pain of the piercing in order to be truly "worthy" of it. He put the clamp on my first labia, it pinched, a lot. At first, I thought he had pierced me and hadn't said what he was doing ahead of time, but no, it was just the clamp. I guess I have sensitive labia. As I was thinking that the pain couldn't get any worse, we started the deep breaths and counting to three, then he pierced me. I jumped some and wis hed I had had some of that topical anesthetic that the girl in the story had. Dave told me next time don't jump, or it would screw him up, and it turned out that he had scratched me with the needle, but it was really my fault. He told me at the time, though he denied it now, that I could knee him in the head some other time, just not while he was trying to pierce me.
We had to wait a while between piercings. As I was gathering myself after the first, Dave started talking about where to put the second. My labia are rather lopsided and rather than putting them right next to each other, he thought it would look best if I had the piercings in the fleshy parts on both sides rather than trying to line them up. That was fine with me. I had to lay there and recover for a while and he asked if I wanted to wait and do the second piercing another day. I said no and began to steel myself for the next piercing.
There was a SHARP pain as he put the clamps on again, and I looked at him between my legs. He looked up at me and said "Oops, got both of them there." I laid back down with a thump as I said, "That HURT!" He responded that maybe he would have left it that way and I wouldn't notice the piercing and jump. I told him, "the quicker you do it, the sooner it will be over." So, instead of a long time of preparation, three deep breaths and it was over. I was "multi-colored snatch" girl for real. I waited a few minutes before hopping off the table, gingerly getting my clothes back on and heading out.
Aftercare was really easy for me. Anti-bacterial soap and saline solution for about two weeks and they were healed. So, if you can make it through the pain of the initial piercing, it should be no problem afterward.
