My piercing spree started on March 13th with my first pair of Inner Labia piercings, shortly followed up by a Vertical Hood piercing on March 16th and a second pair of Inner Labia piercings on March 18th.
I was content and happy with my Labia Piercings but felt the urge for a 3rd pair, and since I was feeling more than confident that I could pull off another pair without too much difficulty I didn't see any point in putting the inevitable off any longer. As I had performed this style of piercing before and so recently too, I felt I knew what I was doing so didn't bother with any more research into the piercings, although prior to my first labia piercing I had found BME, BME Galleries and BME experiences were a very good source of information also QOD is available for those with questions that they feel aren't answered by the BME Glossary.
I have found a personal piercing style that I feel comfortable with and although to a stranger it may seem weird, I am happy with the results that I have had thus far whilst following this style, so personally cannot see a problem with how I arrange myself when preparing to pierce.
My routine is to fetch a tray from the kitchen along with a couple of sheets of kitchen paper, a mug of ice and a mug of boiling hot water. On the tray I also place cotton swabs, antiseptic wipes, an antiseptic spray, the piercing needle in it's sterile wrapping, my jewellery, clamps, marker pen, torch and camera.
I set myself up in position on the floor with a towel against the wall and a chair approximately 3 feet away from the wall with a mirror propped up against the chair legs, I sit on the towel with the tray by my side so that I can reach all of the instruments on the tray and then I relax myself and get comfy so that I can get started with the piercing.
I followed this exact same method when preparing for my 3rd pair of labia piercings.
When I was mentally set to go I used the marker pen to set out two pairs of guide dots, a pair for each of my inner labia, then I clamped the left side and shone a torch through the space in the clamps to make sure the dots were correctly lined up, I used the ice to numb myself and whilst holding the piece of ice on the outside of my inner labia I pushed the needle through with my right hand until it was forcing it's way into the ice cube, I then removed the ice and pulled the needle back through leaving the receiving tube in place, with clamps still on I took the first barbell and threaded it into the end of the tube then pulled both tube and jewellery back through the piercing so that I was left with just the jewellery in place.
Before I removed the clamps I screwed the bead onto the barbell because my previous experience had taught me that removing the clamps allowed the blood flow to return and it made threading the ball into place harder.
As soon as the barbell was in place I removed the clamps, the blood flow returned and a steady trickle of blood escaped from the new piercing - instead of cleaning the piercing up I dipped the clamps in the hot water to get the worst of the blood off and then set to work on the right side inner labia.I followed the same routine as I had for the left side, but instead of piercing from inside to outside, I pierced from outside through to inside because it was easier for me, being right handed.
Once again I removed the needle leaving the receiving tube in place, threaded the jewellery into the end of the tube and pulled both tube and jewellery through the piercing. Threaded the ball into place, removed the clamps and then I started to bleed as expected.
I used the antiseptic wipes to remove the worst of the blood and when I felt that the bleeding had subsided I took some pictures then sat back and admired my new piercings. As I am still caring for my 5 previous piercing I'm using the exact same method of aftercare which I took from the BME Glossary, cleaning the area twice daily with a solution of approximately 8oz warm water to a half teaspoon of sea salt. I've also opted to clean my piercings occasionally with an antiseptic spray, as I am finding this method of aftercare seems to be working well for me - although, each persons body varies and so it may not be as good for other people.
I have now set my sights higher, I don't just want to have three pairs of labia piercings, I wanted to attempt to go for the look of Female Ladder Piercings and maybe even a chastity effect. If you're an adult IAM member and would like to take a look at the results of this piercing then you can take a look at the 'Inner Labia' gallery on my IAM page.
I have said this before and I will continue to say it. I have always maintained the thought and attitude that self piercing isn't safe, but I know I will continue to pierce myself but there are many factors that lead me to doing my own piercings. I only hope that people who read this will take the safe option and decide not to pierce themselves, but to go to a professional, reputable studio and have their piercings performed correctly and safely.
