I had been contemplating a genital piercing for a few months. I was sure that I wanted to have a vertical hood done but I wanted a bit more to go with it. That vertical hood would just look so lonely down there, all by itself.

So began my search for the perfect inner labia piercing.

Naturally I started searching here on BME. I looked at the female genital piercing section. There are pictures upon pictures of pussies made even more beautiful by their wonderful piercings. But what did I want? Me being the odd ball that I am, I do not like the look of CBRs in my own piercings. Barbells seem to suit me better. But barbells in my inner labia? Has anyone done such a thing? It seemed highly unlikely that something like that had never been done...
but where were the pictures? I finally stumbled upon which seemed to be my greatest discovery ever (and what my piercer calls): inverse inner labia. These barbells run length-wise through the labia (up and down). It looked like a painful procedure, but then all I ever hear is that genital piercings do not hurt so badly. Since I had fallen in love with the idea of these barbells in my
labia, I knew that is what I would get. I printed the picture, folded it up, and stuck it in my purse so it would be handy for when the next time I would see my piercer.

It was about a month later that I visited the shop again. I was in asking a question about my irritated nose piercing when I remembered the picture. Before taking it out, I just had to say "Yes, I do always carry pictures of vaginas in my purse." Of course that peaked just about everyone's interest. I took out the picture, unfolded it, pointed to the labia barbells and asked "Can you do this?" His reply was "Oh my god I've always wanted to do one of these!" I guess that answered my question. I don't know who was more excited about
getting this done, me or my piercer! "Just make your appointment anytime!" he said. While Burt had never done one of these before, I felt confident enough in him to have him do this. (He has done all of my other body piercings.)

It was yet another month before I was able to have enough spare currency to have this procedure performed. Oh well... A week before I had the piercing done I was sized up for jewelry (proper barbell length and gauge). I chose to have the piercings done on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The extended weekend would give me some extra healing time. I called up my friend Shannon and asked
if she would hold my hand for me. I knew this was going to hurt and I just wanted someone there with me. She was happy to help me out! Shannon and I got there and the shop was crowded! Burt (the piercer) asked if I would mind waiting until he was done with the rest because mine would take a relatively long time. I didn't mind at all. I filled out my "permission slip" and looked through
magazines while waiting. Soon everyone was gone and it was my turn! It was here that my excitement gave way to fear. I was still excited, but thinking about the procedure was freaking me out. I don't like to get piercings. I want the end result. Yet I am more than willing to put up with the pain to get different parts of my body decorated. So I started to calm myself down. I took off the
pants and sat down. Since Burt does not have a table, I kind of had to scoot back in the chair and put my feet on his thighs while he was sitting on his stool. I laughed and told him this was like a twisted visit to the gynecologist. We laughed. My piercings were to be done at 14g. I wanted to go bigger, but we were fearful of the gauge being too big and mutilating my labia when trying to pierce it. I figure I can always stretch it later. FYI: This procedure was done freehand.

We were ready to begin. Burt got me marked up and I squeezed Shannon's hand. We did the breathing thing and on the third one he pierced. It hurt like hell! The worst part wasn't going into and through the labia; it was poking out the other side that hurt! I SCREAMED when that happened! Once the needle was through I relaxed and laughed at myself for screaming. I couldn't believe I had done that! We got the barbell through with minimal pain and that one was done. Josh (Burt's apprentice) fetched a mirror for me and I was able to see the new piercing. It looked so awesome!!! I was so happy with it! Burt asked me if I wanted to wait to get the second one done. I said no and we then proceeded to pierce the second one. Oddly enough, this one did not hurt as much as the first one. Don't get me wrong, it still hurt and this one made me scream as well, but it went smoother than the first one. (I've found that the second piercing always hurts more than the first because I anticipate t he pain.) The second one did bleed a little bit, but was easily stopped. There. All done! The mirror was held up again and I was
able to see the finished product. Awesome! That is all I can say about it.

After the piercing, I couldn't walk too well. It hurt to walk normally so I had to walk slightly bow legged for the rest of the day. There was a little bit of bleeding from the piercing, but hardly anything. The next day was better, but I still had to be careful.

Over this past week and a half, it has been slowly healing. I can walk normally. Every once in a while I have to readjust myself because something got a little out of place down there and causes pain when I walk. Now I know how guys feel. One little surprise came from this piercing: it rubs. I don't know if the balls move up to the clit or if the new stiff metal that is down there pushes
excess flesh up that then rubs on the clit. Either way I tend to smile a lot when I walk.

So far aftercare has been easy. Although it isn't advisable, I wash this piercing in the shower. I do this because I can get it much cleaner. I have a showerhead that detaches to be used hand held. It's then very easy to clean that very hard to reach place. I can make sure that all the soap is rinsed away, which seems to be a problem with just saline. After I am done with my shower I rinse my new special piercings with saline and pat dry with paper towel. If I
have time and privacy, I will let it air out for bit. After going to the bathroom, I am always sure to rinse with saline (if my saline is not available, I use water. It's better than nothing) and pat dry.

I have been instructed not to have sex for a month. Eep! Unfortunately... I mean fortunately, this is not a problem (no significant other). But since these piercings rub, I am "in the mood" quite a bit. I've found that gentile clitoral stimulation is okay or the use of a vibrator works quite well. The healing labia
need to be avoided at all costs. That means no penetration! As they heal up, I am sure I will be able to be back to my "normal routine".

To bring my story to an end, I have to say that I love these new piercings! Not only do they look good, but they feel good too! If there is one thing that I would to differently, it would be to use a suitable numbing cream on the labia (like EMLA). This was, by far, the most painful procedure I have ever had. Less pain means less squirming and less chance of something going wrong. Not that
anything went wrong with mine, but it could have if I hadn't had enough self control.
