Hi all,

Last Sunday 29th december, after much deliberation (my last piercing was my ears when I was 14) I decided to go up to the Manchester Body piercing Studio to have my inner labia pierced. I had been toying with the idea of having a piercing for some time and after looking at a few (can't have any facial ones because of work) I thought that the inner labia looked really nice.

It was actually the stories posted on BME that persuaded me to go for a piercing of this type, although the story about the bloodbath nearly stopped me. I had looked through all types of genital piercings. While my piercing had to be discreet, I did not want certain types, such as nipple, ouch! or belly button, as it seems everyone has these now. I wanted to go for something discreet and a little bit different from the norm. I studied the pictures and read all the stories and then put the idea to my girlfriend by text. She thought I was joking at first, but after I went to all the trouble of finding out about the best studio to go to, etc, she began to take me seriously and also began to really like the idea.

So, turned up at the studio. No nerves, honest and told them what i wanted. I paid up front, and was asked to go into the piercing room which was very clean and white with a black leather, what looked like a dentists chair (no stirrups....lol)! I was told to take off my 'bottom things' and get on the chair. First thing was applying the anaesthetic, lignocaine. This was sprayed on and burnt slightly and then went warm and then numb. Apparently, in the UK we are much more up for using anaesthetic. I'm not really into pain as pleasure so the number I could get it, the greater the experience would be for me. The studio was great, really clean, really professional in appearance. Sort of like a modern dentist!!! I chose a 1.7 BCR as I wanted a slighly thicker ring to avoid tearing.

Anyway, once the anaesthetic was applied, I put my clothes back on for 10 minutes and looked at the jewellry on display. This is when I started to feel really nervous. Well it's not everyday someone sticks a needle through your bits is it? I went back into the room after 10 minutes and off my pants came again. Louise got hold of my inner labia with a clamp and asked if I could feel anything. Feel what? was my answer.

The next thing I felt, as I was talking to my girlfriend at the time (yes, she came in with me to hold my hand ... I am a wimp), was a dimly sharp feeling, no pain, and I asked 'is that it?'. Louise said yes, just putting in the jewelry. And that really was it, there wasn't even any blood!! It was really wierd. i could actually feel the needle going through the labia, but that was it, it was just a feeling. I think that if I hadn't asked about it, I wouldn't have known anything really.

After the jewellry was inserted I was shown the piercing with a mirror. I was really pleased because it looked alot nicer that I thought it would. My girlfriend was impressed too which is a double bonus. After I had seen the piercing I got dressed, yes I wore baggy trousers, then I was given the aftercare sheets and left. All I can say is thank god for anaesthetic. I have a sneaking feeling that things could have got alot more painful than they were had it not been for the Lignocaine.

Anyway, its now six days since the piercing and at times it has been uncomfortable. For the first two days I simply lay around with my legs wide open. Walking and putting my legs together was really uncomfortable and stung more than ached. I've kept the whole area clean by using salt water and antiseptic disinfectant, although I've found that urine is the best cleanser because it contains ammonia.

I tried turning the ring the first couple of days, which was okay when I was sat in the bath, but stung like mad once i got out. Now I can feel the piercing, but I'm less aware of it and it really does look fantastic.

As a tip for anyone wanting this done :-) for the first few days, wear very baggy trousers and no knickers.

As for the piercing studio, they were extremely professional, clean and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone. :-)))))))))

I'm that impressed with the way this ring looks that I am now considering going to have one on the other side, just to even things up. For anyone who is considering this type of piercing, have it done. It looks great and doesn't feel too bad now either!!
