But as you get older , sometimes, you have to grow up. I found myself being a lttle bored with life in general and need an outlet to express myself..even if it was only 'to' myself. My first peircing was my nipples...althought they took SO long to heal and I had heapz of problems with them. Then an eyebrow followed, with I absolutely LOVED!! Then the tongue...nose...and I thought I was pretty much done. Till my new employer made me take them all out! I needed the job but was not impressed that this dicision had to be made. I felt lost without my tongue, like I was no longer 'me'. So after working at this job for 12 months, I had my tongue repeirced and tried to hide when the General Manager was in town. I need more peircings, but they couldn't show so.... I'd had my clitoral hood done by Rhys about 12 months prior and was SO thrilled with it ..went back to get s omething else done..the labias were planned for the future,not yet. I made an appointment to get something else peirced but when I got there we had a slight change of plans...I'd seen some more pics of labias and they looked so good!!! I had to have one !!
Hubby was waiting for me outside...he had no idea what I was getting done. Rhys has a very charming personality ;), so it was easy to relax, while he was getting everything ready. As he started the procedure he commented " gee.. you've got really nice labias for the peircing" I thought that was sweet and couldn't wait to see the end result. With Rhys' voice calming me and telling me when to breathe, it was over in a flash, I was only getting one. It looked good in the mirror, I hoped hubby would be as happy with it as I was.
In the next week I looked after my one little labia very well, but as we researched and found it could take up to 6 weeks to heal, we decided they may as well heal together. The following Saturday we went back and had a matching one done! They took about 4 to 5 weeks to heal, using a few different methods advised to be. But mostly after the initial couple of weeks...you couldn't get me out of the pool. The salt water dries it out they say but the feeling out being free and cool in the Australia summer far outways any thoughts of wrapping myself up in cotton wool and staying 'inactive' for all that period of time.
That was over 12 months ago and the stretching is going well. I love to feel the steel inside my skin and without making this story X-rated...well...I found good uses for them ...trust me! I have a bangle that has a 'dog clip' attached, and you can also buy charms for it. So every week or so I buy some more charms and wander around the house jingling away...I call it 'stretching in style'. And when the bangles not attached to my labias, I wear it on my wrist and smile to myself when people comment on "what an unusual peice of jewelery it is".
I still need to explore the 'peircing' side of me..I'd like to try some play peircing. And working them all in with some of my tattoos would be fun as well.
I have a degree in Silversmithing so at the moment I'm designing a range of peircing jewelery, from a wearers point of veiw. Unusual peices and 'one offs'. Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll be able to get more involved in the industry I love so much and maybe score the job of a lifetime, Peircing, manufacturing and designing jewelery.
My ending peice of advice to all you out there who are thinking of having a labia peirced or anything at all for that matter is..don't leave it too long. I'm almost 32, and I think if only I'd gotten into this stuff 10 - 15 years ago.. how much my life would've changed. The labias are great..treat them with respect and they'll give you endless mounts of pleasure and a great conversation topic at parties. Why my 6 year old even wanted to take me to school for 'show and tell'...which I very gratefully declined, of course.
Hubby has the remote control to play with at night time when we're relaxing and watching TV...these little trinkets in my labias and clitoral hood give me something to hang on to as well.
