Ever since I first realized I liked girls I have been irritated by the fact that I have a short tongue. I got my tongue pierced five years ago, and I had such a pronounced and tight frenulum that the bottom ball would rub against it. So I stumbled across a piercer who advertised cutting work, and asked her if she would consider doing a frenectomy on me. Meg, who is probably the most personable piercer I've encountered so far, said she would do it, if I was built for it. I told her I would stop by her shop on the next monday to introduce myself, and let her decide if I was built for and would benefit from a frenectomy. Yes, I found her on IAM.

This shop is on the far east side of town, kind of out in the middle of nowhere. I instantly liked her, she had big brown eyes, a fun personality. Meg takes me into the piercing room, puts some gloves on, and grabs my tongue with some gauze. After looking at my tongue for just a second she said it would be easy enough, that my frenulum is just a little string of skin. I asked her how much it would be, she said around 30-40 (I think she was happy to do something other than a navel or eyebrow) which wasn't at all bad. After that we talked for a good while, which was nice since it was such a drive, and she was fun to talk to.
Today I got together my camera, some film and called to make sure she was ready for me. I was a bit nervous, but at least I was comfortable with having her do it because I got to know her a bit. I get there and she had to get this girl out of the way who was getting her eyebrow and nostril pierced.
We went to the liquer store so I could get some juice. I asked her a bit about the aftercare and healing time. She said its similar to an oral piercing, I should rinse my mouth out with mouthwash, and avoid solid foods. Meg recommended that I stretch my tongue out at least once a day to prevent regrowth.
The prep was very similar to a tongue piercing prep, only there was a scalpel instead of needle. I decided I wanted to take my barbell out because it would probably get on my nerves and irritate my tongue more. She took a little light, and used it to look at the blood vessels, and marked me. I asked if i could keep the scalpel as a souveneer, and Meg said yes. She had me lay down, clamped me up, and told me to take a deep breath. I was almost surprised at how much it didn't hurt. The scalpel was slightly more painful than actually piercing my tongue, but nowhere near as bad as my hood, or inner labia. It only took a few seconds. I probably took 3 deep breaths before it was done. I guess I then flexed a muscle or something, because i gleeked (i'm not sure how to spell that word... my saliva ducts squirted) on Meg, and started laughing. This is while she was taking off the clamps so it wasn't at a bad time or anything. I tried not to laugh, so I could sit still, but that just made me laugh more. I realized I was done and closed my mouth. I apoligezed for that, but she didn't seem too bothered by it. We took some pictures (oh, yeah, I left out the fact that we took before shots), and rinsed my mouth out. I was very giggly from the adrenaline rush.
I looked at it in the mirror, it made my tongue stick out a little bit more, made it slightly more pointy, and it can move around more without hurting. When I would stick my tongue out before today it would get sore because my frenulum was so tight. Even though it was fresh and mildly bloody, it didn't hurt as much to stick my tongue out. Oh, and there really wasn't too much blood. My mouth was a bit red for about five minutes. It looks very weird, there is one string of skin on top, and two swollen pieces on the bottom. It was vaguely heart shaped.
Right now my tongue is sore from sticking it out so much and playing with it constantly for a good hour afterwards. I had a fun time, and would recommend Meg, she is awesome. I can move my tongue around more, curl it more, and all sorts of fun stuff. I am kind of looking forward to having this healed. My mouth tastes of blood still, and feels awkward not having a barbell in, and having a little swallen tissue around a hole.
