How I got my inner labias pierced...
At A Glance Author Christiana Contact dreddedhippies@lineone.net Artist My friend Sef Studio In his caravan Location Essex, UK They were my fifteenth and sixteenth piercings and I'd decided I'd have them after I got my hood done because I'd had so little trouble with the hood piercing and enjoyed having a genital piercing so much... the feeling of being the centre of attention especially, and also the high I got afterwards!
I'd seen pictures of labia piercings and they were all beautiful, but it was something I intended to leave for another year or so at least before getting done. I also wanted to see labia piercings in the flesh and talk to someone who'd had them done before I got the piercings myself.
As it turned out the first labia piercings I got to see were my own. However, one of my friends who met up with one of her girl friends over the solstice; and the girl had had her labias pierced for nearly five years. She said that it didn't hurt (relatively speaking) and the piercings healed very quickly. However, she had had them pierced at 1.6 mm (12 gauge) and over the years the piercings had stretched to nearly 4 mm...
This put me off a little bit and my labias would probably not have seen steel for years if one of my close friends had not decided to take up piercing other people. Which was all very well - he had a ready supply of other friends who were up for cheap piercings - but then he completely messed up an ear cartilige piercing. Blood everywhere, the plastic sleeve of the catheter came out, his victim saw his own blood and whited out, total disaster.
To cheer my friend up, my boyfriend let him pierce his earlobe. That piercing went okay, but it didn't really satisfy my friend; so, like the sucker I am, I agreed that he could pierce my inner labias. He wanted to do it then and there: I prevaricated a little bit and told him, tomorrow. (Who can blame me?) Anyway, I needed time to shave my pubes - I think going for genital piercings unshaven is impolite, and anyway although normally I dislike shaving down there, I think it is much easier to keep the healing piercings clean with no hair getting in the way.
It has to be said, in case you think I am a total fool, that my friend let me watch him during his third serious self-piercing, which was his frenum. Having watched that extreme experience I (sort of) trusted him to pierce me.
Tomorrow, and the time to be pierced came. I sat in my friend's caravan nervously as he bustled about, boiling the kettle to sterilise the jewellery. His girlfriend and my boyfriend were spectators.
I lay down on his bed, opened my legs. I was incredibly nervous at this point. Not twenty four hours earlier in this very spot the last piercee had had blood gushing down his face. Also I had not had a genital piercing without anaesthetic before - my clithood had been with zylocaine.
We'd decided that the piercings were to be done with 1.2 mm needles, rather than 1.6 mm needles. I was a little insecure about the level of pain I'd have to deal with, and a smaller needle is less painful. And my friend the wannabe piercer was also a little insecure: smaller needles were easier to deal with psychologically.
He cleaned both inner labias, and spent some time marking out where the piercings were due to go. From the start I'd wanted both labias pierced - there had never been any question of having just one pierced to see what it was like. It would've looked lopsided!
The piercings themselves my friend did without clamps: just stretched the flesh a little and popped the needles through smoothly. They STUNG a lot for such tiny pieces of flesh and such tiny needles. Getting the jewellery in place, though, hurt more. Neither piercing was REALLY painful, although the second was easier because of the endorphine rush from the first.
Then my friend reached for the pliers to pop the balls into place in the rings. Fortunately he did that quickly, with no pushing and pulling. It was all over, everything had gone smoothly, I hurt in a new place, but I couldn't move. I think I lay on my friend's bed with my legs open for another five minutes before I actually got the motivation to move. Having my genitals pierced gives me the rush of my life!... I think I will be having more....
It is about two months since now. The piercings were healed within two weeks, there were no problems - the only time I suffered what I think of as real pain was after a wee, for the first few days... owwweeeeee that stung! Cleaning them was nice and easy, just wash as usual. (Good personal hygiene is VERY important for piercings, but you know that already.) No crusties on genital piercings, just sometimes a slightly milky stuff that does need to be cleaned away. As I said, it is easier when the area is hairless.
They do nothing for me in terms of enhancing sex, not like my clit hood piercing; but they are very pretty and everyone who has seen them thinks they look brilliant; they make featureless bits of pink flesh very spangly indeed! And my boyfriend likes them a lot, of course.
The left piercing is slightly wonky, in the grand tradition of home piercing. It is only slightly (or I'd take it out to get it done again), and nobody apart from me has noticed.
One of the reasons I got them pierced at 1.2 mm was the story about the stretchy labias, but although I'm glad I got them pierced at that size - it undoubtedly made them less painful - I'm not happy with them at 1.2 mm, the rings are like cheesewire. I'll stretch them to 1.6 mm and then I suppose I'm hoping that my inner labias aren't as stretchy as some other peoples.
I definitely want at least one more pair of piercings in my inner labias, and I'll probably get my boyfriend to do them next time because they turned out to be easy piercings. (I also want my triangle done, but I'm going to go to a professional piercer for that particular baby.)
Believe me when I say, I've had a few more piercings since my labias were done - only ear cartilige - but that is a LOT more painful and unpleasant than genital piercing. If you want your labias done and you're scared of the pain, don't be. I am just a 17-year-old hippy who lives in a caravan, so I'm sure if I can take it you can too.
