Been there, done that!!

Most of the stories I've read here are from young people. Well this is to show you that some of us "older generation" like the sexy piercings also.

I saw the first pictures of genital piercings while my husband and I were surfing the net. We both thought they were real sexy. Needless to say, we started calling around to see if anyone in our area did below the waist piercings. A year ago, no one did. We surfed the net once more and found a studio in Atlanta, Ga (2 hours away) that did them. We planned a day off from work. I wanted it during the day, during the week, so there would be fewer people there. I'm not an exhibitionist of any kind. I'm a professional, a nurse, working with the public and I want my private life private.

I arrived at the studio and met my piercer, a woman who made us feel right at home. No snide comments about older women getting more piercings these days. She set me up in her chair, used betadine to clean me off, then on a deep inhale, in went the needle, then the jewelry. I had myself a new horizontal hood piercing with a surgical steel captive ring in it. Wonderful. We traveled home and all was well for about one week. Then I started to have an allergic reaction to the surgical steel. There was no infection, no redness, no drainage at the site, just tissue protruding out the entrance and exit holes, like my body was trying to spit out the ring. I knew if I tried to have the ring exchanged for a different metal, it would be excruciatingly painful going through that raw tissue, so out it came. I let it heal over.

Well I still realy wanted a piercing. So I went to a local piercing studio and purchased a niobium captive ring. I decided to do an inner labia piercing myself. I went to the drug store and bought a large tube of extra strength ora gel and gobbed the whole tube on my labia and left it there for 30 minutes to try to numb the area up some (I'm really not into pain). It worked. It didn't numb it completely, but it sure helped. I sat on a chair with my legs propped up, leaned a mirror up so I could see my labia, found the spot I thought would look best and shoved the needle through. After the initial gasp it wasn't bad. I quickly passed the ring through and voila - my piercing was complete. I had a ring through my right inner labia. I put on a tight pair of panties wtih a peri pad in place. I knew direct pressure would help keep it from bleeding. Well it's hard to get direct pressure on your labia. It bled so much I thought for sure I would have to call my gyn doctor - and wouldn't that be cute. I knew all bleeding stops eventually, so I waited. It took a little while, and I probably saturated a couple of pads, but then it clotted off and stopped. It bled a little off and on for several days if it rubbed the wrong way. I took frequent hot baths - to keep the area clean and to generate blood flow to the area to promote healing. I know my original piercer said no tub baths, only showers for several weeks, but I figured if doctors have their female patients soak in a sitz bath to clean their episiotomy sites on their perineium after delivering a baby then it had to help a piercing site there too. It took about 7 days for the pain to completely be gone and it not hurt when it was touched or manipulated. Another week or two and it was completely healed.

But now I wanted another one. I'm not brave enough to do all of them at the same time. After the right labia was completely healed I decided it was time for another one. A vertical hood piercing came next, then when that was healed, a left labia ring. The healing time varied with each piercing, but they healed without problems.

I still don't make it known to even my female friends that I have such a thing as gential piercings. They would definitely think I have lost my mind. When you look at me, you don't see some wild, outlandish hippy type person. I am just a regular person who happens to like body piercings.

So just remember you can't judge a book by it's cover. Someone may look staid and proper on the outside, and be hiding all kinds of kinky things under their clothes. I may even be your mother!!
