I decided, after having gotten a vertical hood piercing last July, I would have my inner labia pierced this July. I have been fascinated with body piercing for quite some time. There is something about a body pierced by metal that I find both erotic and beautiful. Unfortunately, I have had to limit my piercing to areas not seen or my ears (most people do not question multiple ear piercings). I currently have a total of 14 ear piercings, 4 lobe each ear, 2 cartilage each ear, and 1 rook in each ear. I also now have 1 vertical hood piercing and my newly pierced inner labia. My husband, who is unpierced, cannot understand my fascination with piercing, but does not stop me--he just shakes his head.

I had been looking on BME for quite some time and decided my inner labia would be my next pierce. I went to the Bearded Lady in Northampton, Mass to have my rook pierced (a great pierce! I love it--heals quickly with little pain) and asked how much it would cost to pierce my inner labia. Amiee stated it would cost $25 plus jewelry. I told her I was allergic to stainless steel. I found this out last year when she did my vertical hood piercing--the piercing would not heal and itched like mad--not a pleasant feeling at all. I suspected I might be allergic to the metal so I replaced the barbell with titanium and within a week it was healed. All this I find odd since I can wear stainless in my ears. I decided to order two 12g 3/8" titanium CBR. I got a call two weeks later stating the rings were in. Since she does walkins only, I decided to go down on a Thursday to get pierced. I live an hour away and headed down to get pierced, but sometimes this just do not go right and this was one of those times. I got stuck in construction traffic and didn't get to the shop until 1:10 p--the shop opens at 1:00 p and she already had two people in there waiting to get pierced. I couldn't wait so I decided to try again on Friday and give myself plenty of time to get there. I headed back down on the next day with my husband and was the first person there. I removed my shorts and underware and sat in the chair. I was quite nervous even though I had been through this all last year when I had my hood done. Amiee got everything ready and asked me about placement--did I want the rings side by side or staggered--I decided on staggered. She cleaned the area and proceeded to mark where the piercings would go. She had me stand up with the rings in place--a tricky thing when there is nothing really holding them. After they were both marked and ready to go, she put the clamp on my left labia first and told me to start breathing. I closed my eyes and after two breaths she said she would pierce as I exhaled on my third. Shit it hurt! I could feel the needle going through my labia all the way up to the top of my head. Then that was it, no more pain. She put the ring through and put the bead in. No pain at all. She then got ready to pierce my right labia. I closed my eyes again and started breathing. As I exhaled, she pierced and this time it hurt even more than the first time. I could almost taste the pain. Finally she was through the the ring was in..again no more pain. Amiee stated she did not use clamps on the second pierce due to the location of the pierce. There was very little blood, considering when I had my hood bled quite a bit. I paid Amiee and left very happy with my two new piercings. I went to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant with my husband. There was a little burning sensation while sitting there eating but not bad. We went home and all was fine until 6:00 p. I decided I would rinse off the rings with some saline solution--big mistake because as soon as I did I started to bleed. They didn't bleed alot, but to me it seemed like a lot. They bled a little during the night and quite a bit the next morning when I decided to clean them up. I soaked them in a cup of sea salt water over the toilet for about 5 minutes, after that no more bleeding. They were tender for about a week and by the end of the second week no more pain. I find it to be a great pierce for me..some interesting sensations have come from the rings rubbing against my pants. I would also definitely recommend going to The Bearded Lady. Amiee takes her time, things are sterile, and she knows her "stuff". Since I discovered her shop through a friend, I would not go to anyone else. My next pierce I think may be another inner labia across from my new right piercing. I don't think I care to much for them staggered and would like to even things up a bit..but who knows.
