Well, my name is Shannon. I have 24 piercing in all. I don't think that I could do without even one of them. I'm always looking for new and inventive places on my body or new techniques to use. I was always into piercings and tattoos. I was about 8 when I decided that I wanted to get my nipples pierced (of course that didn't happen until 11 years later). That 11 years still did not scare me from what I wanted to have done to my body. After getting my nipples pierced I wanted my next piece of art to by my vertical hood ring.

I decided that it was probably in my best interest to go and dig up a little dirt on what I was thinking of doing. I asked women who had it done, people that knew woman who had it done, and so on. I heard stories of infection, constant bleeding, and women never able to have orgasms after the piercing. I love the sex my fiance and I have and I couldn't imagine what a bad sex life could do to our relationship. It was that thought that almost made me decide that as badly as I did want this done I may not get it.

So my next step was actually talking to the woman that would be doing this procedure. I guess if anyone can tell you what your about ready to get yourself into it would be the person that is going to do it to you.

I went to the House of Pain in Creston, Ia. It is the closest shop around. I live in a very small town of Corning, Ia. Many of my friends had had piercings done by her before and she had pierced my tongue the year before. She was known locally for doing a great job and being an easy going person. I walked into Amy's and told her what I wanted and asked if there could be any complications. She stoop there and talked to me about the vertical hood piercing, and even got on the computer to bring up pictures for me to see. She explained that a vertical hood piercing was actually not that bad. Although, for some women it hurt worse than for others.

Amy told me that if she had felt that there could be a complication she would just tell me "No." That made me feel quite a bit better. I guess knowing that she wasn't in it for just the money and actually cared about my safety helped my nerves a little bit more. She has now done 7 more of my piercings. I went back home that night and again got on the internet. I tried to find people that I could email and ask questions to. After staying up most the night trying to decide what it was I wanted to do I went back to Amy's the following day.

I wore a pair of sweat pants thinking that I would have trouble walking and not wanting anything to rub on me after the bar was pit in. It was more uncomfortable having a tube in my vaginal area than laying naked in front of a woman that I barely knew.. There was a sharp quick pain, and it was over. I got up and walked with out a problem. I was super excited to see that it didn't really effect that part of me any a bad way at all. In fact walking is still a great pleasure of mine. Especially up and down stairs. I now am very good friends with Amy, her being one of the only women that has been up close and personal with me and a way like that, and I love the vertical hood ring. I have had it for a little over a year now and am pleased to say that not only do I still have orgasms, but they are far longer and more powerful than what I had been given before hand.

Thanks again Amy for making my sex life better... I encourage anyone that is considering getting this done to talk to your expert first and make sure you know your upsides and downside both... It's always better to go into something with your eyes fully open. You know what to expect. Your chances of infection, migration, tearing, and so on. You should also be sure that you feel comfortable with the person that is about to stick a needle through your body. Although many teens think its cool to just randomly stick things in themselves. IT'S NOT!!! Be sure to look at your options before you decide to do something like this. Although a piercing may not be forever your scars and consequences may be. you may change your mind or find out that you for sure you want it done.. just be safe about things first
