I've had this piercing for 6 hours and I already love it.

I've wanted a genital piercing for a very long time, but it was one of those things I wanted, but never did. Well, today I got the money (the whole procedure cost 70 bucks) and, after reading many, many stories on BMEzine about vertical hood piercings I was almost sure that I was going to get one. If I hadn't heard all the positive feedback from the women here, I wouldn't be so sure about getting the piercing at all. When I got to the piercing place I immediately started talking to one of the employees who herself revealed that she had gotten a genital piercing which she happened to love. She told me that this certain type of barbells looked great on her, and after asking her whether the procedure was painful or not, I was reassured by her response that the pain was practically minimal. So, the piercing itself cost $30, plus the cost of the ring - $24, plus numbing gel - $6(probably a great help, it's still sensitive even if it isn't the clitoris itself), and the cleaning kit was $8. With tax, the whole thing cost me about 70 bucks, but it was well worth it.
I got in the room, and the lady made it seem a little like jail because the only thing she said was "underwear and pants to your knees". I felt a little awkward, but I figured it didn't matter. So she put the numbing gel on, then I waited for 20 minutes outside and went back in. She told me to take undies & pants off again and sit down on the chair. It felt really weird, like a very open gynecologist visit without the blankets or anything...I decided to put my discomfort aside and waited until the piercer found a good spot for the ring to go through (I liked it) and she told me to take a deep breath in and out. When I breathed out, she put the needle through - a sharp pain that only lasted for a second. The part that actually hurt was threading the barbell through, but once again it was only for a few seconds, and realistically it's not a pain that makes you scream out loud or anything. Either I was too excited, or the piercer was ready for me to get out or something, but I didn't even take a look at the piercing before getting out of the room. Maybe it was partially because I was uncomfortable being naked in front of a very silent person, but I refrained from looking at it until I got back home and I loved it so much that I made my friend come look at it - she liked it as well and thought it looked pretty.
Contrary to many stories I've read about this piercing, it felt completely normal to walk right afterwards, though I did feel like I had to walk sort of gingerly to my car. The area of the piercing stung for probably the next 45 minutes in the way that any new piercing stings, but nothing exceptionally painful at all. I was completely capable of driving, walking, and somewhat jogging as well an hour after the procedure. The hole bled very minimal, just a tiny drop was all I saw afterwards and it looked amazingly pretty right after I saw it in the mirror. The girls I've talked to have said that the piercing heals very quickly and I can already walk around painlessly as well as move the barbell around to clean it without any pain, though right now the area is still a little swollen.
Really, this piercing is wonderful. It automatically makes it look so much better and you feel like you're carrying around a secret (though I couldn't keep it one). Anyone who's doubting getting this piercing should definitely go and get it if they truly want it, but "have never gotten around to it". It's a very short procedure that hurts for a few seconds at the most for what I can see will be a lifetime of satisfaction.
One thing I would suggest is getting a piercer who is friendly and enjoys doing what they do because I didn't feel the person who did my VCH was at all happy to be there, which made it even more weird to be silently undressing in front of them. Make sure that this piercing is really what you want for the right reasons because for one, it's a lot of money for a tiny hole in your hood and two, some people really can't handle pain well and/or can't really be that comfortable being naked in front of strangers.
Honestly, if you're thinking about it, just do it now.
