Let me start by saying that I work in the medical profession and I definitely have to present a clean image when I am at work. So, this means no visible tattoos or piercings. For me, the really cool part is that work has no control over what is underneath my clothes.
At A Glance Author Miss P Contact Miss P@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Sara Wooten Studio Immaculate Piercing Location Columbia, SC I researched getting my vch done for a long time. I even checked out the APP website (Association of Professional Piercers). There was only one person listed in the state of South Carolina. Anyway, the shop that she owns has gotten very good reviews so I thought I would give her a call and ask her some questions. She was very patient, she wasn't pushy and she seemed really nice. Pretty much everything she told me was comparable to things I had read on the BME site.
So, I arrived the next day (no appointment necessary) and told her I wanted to get my vch and both nipples done. She had me sign a bunch of forms, went over aftercare, helped me pick out my jewelry etc. Then she had me verify all the items that came out of the autoclave that a black indicator strip was present and that the package was indeed sterile. She explained everything step by step and she washed her hands and changed her gloves multiple times. The room was very clean and I really didn't feel that weird laying on the table in a butterfly/frog position with no pants or underwear.(Knees apart and soles of feet touching). I think having a female piercer made it a lot more comfortable for me.
First she just took a look at my anatomy, then she marked the spot and then she cleaned everything really well. The soap felt cold and slimy. She used a receiving tube, which is to make sure that the needle goes into the tube instead of actually poking the clitoris itself. She explained everything step by step, told me exactly when she was going to touch me etc...
So, I am doing ok at this point other than the fact that I can't stop shivering because this room is so cold. She has me take in a deep breath for 3 seconds and then she does the piercing when I exhale. Oh my God, it hurt like nothing else I have ever felt before and I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I don't think twice about going to the dentist, and I barely flinched when I had my tattoos done(both ankles and top of foot). The pain is a really sharp, burning pain. The good news is that the pain starts to subside after about 30 secs. Within 5 min, the pain is more like a twinge. She threads the jewelry quickly and gives me a hand held mirror to take a look. I chose a titanium straight barbell with purple balls. The size is 12g and 9/16.
So, the drive home was weird between the bumps and trying not to let the seatbelt brush my newly pierced nipples. As far as aftercare, the best advice I can give is sleep with breathable underwear to bed, shower at least once a day and LEAVE IT ALONE. Your hands are filthy. Don't touch it until its healed. I tend to take 2 showers a day because I am surrounded by germs all day at the hospital. I have been using the satin soap they gave me once a day and then just rinsing with water the second time I take a shower. There was a couple of drops of blood the first 2 days but after that I barely noticed it. After the first week, I tightened the balls right after I took a shower. (Righty tighty, left loosey). The piercer said to do this once a week.
This brings me to my problem. It has been about 12 days since I had it done and I really don't even know it's there. I mean when I walk up stairs I can feel it tickle a little but as for the rest of the time, I don't even notice it. Maybe my expectations were too high?? So, I am going to wait a few more weeks and then go back to the shop, explain this to the piercer and perhaps get a curved barbell instead with a bigger ball. Any suggestions??
I really have not tried to play with it too much yet. I guess I'm a little nervous about it hurting and plus I am really scared of it getting infected. I'm not really in a serious relationship right now although I have mentioned it to a few of my guy friends. It's so funny, because their eyes light up right away and they then immediately ask if they can see it. I just smile and tell them, maybe... if their good!
