I LOVE my vertical hood piercing. it happened a little less than a week ago, and I am thrilled.

This was something totally and really spontaneous that I decided to do, and something you would never guess I would have by just looking at me. having it makes me feel really sexy especially because no one knows about it, and it's in such a private spot.

My significant other is totally against it. the thing is, this kind of thing, you do it for yourself, and no one else. so, I did it anyways. He'll get over it, and get used to it. I have a feeling he will love it when he gets to see it.

I'm not quite sure why he doesn't like it, but a lot of guys think that it's sexy. more than I ever knew. That always makes you feel better!

I was really nervous, but I had researched it for about two weeks and read various stories on this website about how they loved their piercing. It just made me want it even more! I looked at a lot of pictures to make sure it was absolutely what I wanted. I researched if it was harmful, helpful, painful..whatever.

Any bad experiences I read were just that it didn't work out so well, and they had to take it out..that was the worse thing that happened.

I was given the advice by someone who already has theirs done to go ahead and get it done while i have the "balls" to. I was really pumped when the day finally came.

Make sure that the shop you go to is clean and professional. That was very important to me.

So, that being said...I go in the piercing shop, and I had to wait like thirty minutes. It almost made me have cold feet, but thankfully I had my best friend with me talking me through it and telling me how awesome it's going to look when it's all said and done. So finally I get to fill out all of my paper work, and head back to the piercing room.

I had my best friend with me so she could hold my hand and comfort me. I absolutely knew I needed someone there to check everything out, and not make me feel so awkward while I'm spread eagle and eye level with my male piercer!! He was awesome though. He didn't make me feel awkward at all. very professional.

He would tell me step by step what he was doing, and was making sure I was breathing! I was kind of jumpy and nervous.

so anyways, he asks me what size bar I want. I don't remember exactly what it was(..it looks like a standard belly button ring though.) pretty much the same size you see in all of the pictures you look up on the internet.

He tells me to relax while he checks out my vein patterns. so please make sure to ask your piercer if you have the right vein patterns. It's something about if your veins aren't lined up or something it could be really bad. If they don't know what you mean, get out of there!

So, he gets me all lined up and marked, sterilizes my area, and he counts to 3 and does the deed. I didn't slam my legs shut or anything, but I read that some people do.

For me, it hurt like hell. It hurt like a bitch. Some people say it's not as worse as your navel. I let out a big "f" word and a JC.

But as for right now, it's a little sore if I move it around a lot. It's tender, yeah. But it's not like an ear piercing where it throbs all the time or anything. it doesn't throb at all!

My piercer said it would heal in like a week, but to take care of it for 3 weeks. Which is like salt water soaks..he said anyways..

To my understanding, when it heals you can put rings in it, straight bars, vibrating ones! and who knows what else.

I was worried that it would show through my bikini bottoms. No worries, it does not show through, thank goodness! even when I stand up I cant see it. It is hidden very well.

I can't wait to try it out, but it will be a while. I want to be really careful with it, and make sure that it heals well.

Ii loveee it though. absolutely!

If you're thinking about getting one, just do it. It's not permanent. you can always take it out. as for me, that little bastard hurt, and it is staying in.

The whole experience was great. Ii plan to get more scandalous piercings! Good luck to anyone who is getting it done!
