Two years of my life had been devoted to giving my boyfriend what he wanted and constant attempts to make him happy. We had discussed piercings in the past and he had made it clear that my double navel was already too much metal sticking out of my body. That's when I decided I had had enough. Every where I looked there were people with piercings in places that it had never occurred to me to put them. (Keep in mind both Lauren and I give off an innocent vibe for some reason unknown to us, so we kept getting strange looks.) As soon as I told the people at the counter that I wanted a horizontal hood they made it a point to try and convince me that a vertical one is better. However, I had done my research and actually decided that I would get both. I would start with the horizontal first, then come back later and get a vertical. I paid and then looked at pictures until they were ready for me. The wait was not bad, but the longer I stood there the more nervous I became.
Finally, the time came to get my long awaited piercing. I went to the back and was told to strip down and spread my legs on the chair. There was a brief joke about him at least buying me dinner first, and then it was time to mark where the needle would go. He marked my hood with a toothpick dipped in ink, which I hardly felt at all. Then he put the clamp in place. The marking and clamping was not in the least bit uncomfortable. My only complaint was that I did not shave before I came..... The needle itself was not painful at all, just shocking. The only thing that I can compare it to is jumping into a pool full of ice water on a summer day where the temperature has passed one hundred degrees F. Both of my navel piercings were far more painful then this one. I was expecting much worse pain then what it really turned out to be.
The minutes and weeks following I felt no discomfort whatsoever. I could walk just fine, run just fine, I even rode my horses without a problem. No pain, no discomfort. No nothing. There was just a little bit of bruising at first, but it disappeared on the third day. The only problem I have had with it was changing the jewelry the first time. The ball was in there so tight I had to take pliers to each side of the ring and pull in opposite directions until the ball popped off. I have heard that you can use scissors, but I was a little anxious about having something dangerous like that near a very sensitive part of my body (not that I didn't pay to have a needle shoved through it in the first place). In the months following, I have come to find out that the scissor method is far easier and less dangerous than it sounds.
I love my horizontal hood. I have found this piercing to be extremely enticing to males. I have had a few new boyfriends since my piercing and all of them have loved the way it looks and functions! Most guys around here have never dated girls with them. Don't expect random orgasms after you get this done. However, if you cross your legs just right or your man hits you in just the right spot, you will get a very pleasurable feeling!! Apparently, the vertical one is better, but I think it would have been a little too much for me. That's next on my list of things to do though.
The boyfriend of two years was not too happy with me when I came home that night. So when he forced me to make the decision of taking out my horizontal hood piercing or leaving him I thought twice, but decided to keep my new favorite piercing instead. After all, just the thought of the new jewelry in between my legs had given me more pleasure then he had in the two years we had been dating. The decision was easy.
So, if you ask me, get it done! I highly recommend this to all women. Out of my now seven piercings, it is by far my favorite. One warning-- they are addictive!!!!
