I hadn't planned on getting a piercing today, yet here I am with one. The thought of my spur of the moment "recklessness" makes me grin. Sometimes I wish I'd be more spontaneous like that. But on with the story.

I planned on visiting my piercer, Burt at 3rd Dimension, today. He had been bugging me to stop in. Since I was without my son and I had a few extra dollars in my pocket, I decided today would be perfect for it.
After stepping out of the shower, I had the idea of seeing if my vertical hood piercing would stretch at all. I removed the curved barbell from my hood for the first time ever. I lubed up my 10g taper and slid it right in. There was minimal resistance. Wonderful! Only I didn't have any 10g jewelry. With the taper held in place with rubber O rings, I headed downtown to see about some replacement jewelry.
It was nice to be back in a piercing studio. The smell. The atmosphere. The people. How you can miss it sometimes. Burt and I started chatting. I told him of my stretch this morning. He said "Come on in back, let's take a look." As someone who gets piercings for sexual reasons, I have my clothes off every time I'm in there. I find that rather amusing. I stripped off my pants and undies and had a seat on the now paper cloth covered chair. Burt put on his gloves and took a look at the situation. He had a 10g ring he put in there for me. He noticed that it had migrated to my right side quite a bit. This was something I had realized quite some time ago but was not overly concerned with it as the piercing still rubbed me the right way. He was looking at it and said "You know what would be really awesome? If we pierced a center 10g and put a curved barbell in it. Then we could have a 10g ring on either side of it." I loved that idea! I asked "Is there room down there for that?" He said there sure was. Ah yes, the perks of having large genitalia. "Oh my god, let's do that!" This had me all excited! We just mapped out a nice little hood project.
The debate now was, do we use the existing hole as one of the side rings or do we take it out and repierce? Burt didn't think it was far enough to the side. We both hated the thought of taking out a perfectly good piercing, but its placement wouldn't be right. I said "Since I've got my pants off and everything, why don't we just pierce now? Then it will have time to heal before we do the next one." Burt was in total agreement with that logic and asked if I was sure I wanted to do that. "Why not?" I said with a smile. "I've got my pants off and enough money. This is a good time for it." He took out the 10g ring and set that aside to be autoclaved for my use only for the future side piercing. Unfortunately Burt did not have a 10g curved barbell for this. Instead we are ordering one and healing this center piercing with a 10g ring. This is perfectly fine with me.
Before I continue, I must make clear that this piercing was going to be placed quite differently than last time. This time it is being pierced not in the middle of my hood, but right up near the top. Also, this is being done with a 10g needle, not a 14g like last time. Two very big differences.
Burt started prepping for the piercing. This was pretty exciting! Such spur of the moment boldness on my part! I found one flaw to this though: I wasn't mentally prepared for it! This was a problem. I began to focus inward and concentrate on how I was going to make the pain less. I thought to myself "My first hood piercing didn't hurt that much. This shouldn't be that bad." Burt finished prepping my genitals and we got ready to pierce. I started with the deep breathing. We do three rounds of this. On the second one he likes to poke the tip of the needle in a little. I suppose this is to get a sort of "anchor" on the placement. Let me tell you, that little poke in hurt bad. In fact I thought he had pierced it. I was upset and worried when he told me to take another breath. I knew in an instant that if that tiny little poke hurt that bad, this was going to be a lot worse. I breathed in deep and breathed out slowly. STAB!!! Okay, Burt doesn't stab, but to my mind that's what it felt like. I involuntarily pulled my hips away from him even though I tried very, very hard not to. The poor guy had to keep a tight grip on the needle and receiving tube with all my bucking around. Burt just said "I gotcha, I gotcha." I assumed he meant that everything went in ok and on the mark. It did. He then quickly got the jewelry in and everything was set.
"Holy shit!" I exclaimed! "That fucking HURT!" I smiled though. Yes, it hurt badly but really, the pain only lasts for a minute. The poke through is always the worst. He said that he knew it was going to hurt badly because of the higher placement and the bigger gauge needle. He asked if I was ok. I certainly was. My after-pierce adrenaline rush was setting in and I just needed a minute or two to let it pass. He then did the after-pierce cleaning up of my genitals and blotted up the little bit of blood that came with the piercing.
I got my clothes back on and paid and tipped Burt for his well done job. I hung out at the shop for a while yet, to let the adrenaline rush pass and also to do some more planning in regards to future work. Immediately after, my piercing was a little sore, as one would expect. I was, however, able to walk perfectly normal without causing extra pain. I would say that within an hour, the pain was no longer noticeable. If I didn't think about it, I didn't even realize I had new work done.
I went to a book store for a few hours after leaving the shop. When I did get home, I had to take a good look at my new metal. There was a tiny bit of blood spotting in my underwear from the piercing. There was also some dried blood on the ring. I gently cleaned the area with a cotton ball and some saline solution. There was a tiny bit of fresh bleeding from this cleaning. I then decided to just leave it alone. I kept my underwear off and wore my bathrobe around the house for the rest of the evening. Before I went to bed, I took a shower and used only water to rinse my genital area. It looked very clean and this time there was no more blood loss. There was no bleeding over night either.
I plan on babying this piercing as much as possible. No playing with it. Sea salt soaks once a day. No sex until it's fully healed. I guess that means no sex for a long time. When this is a month old, I will be starting on the next piercing! Oh well, a few months of celibacy will be worth the finished product. In my opinion, a hood piercing is the best piercing a female can get. I find it amplifies sensations to the clitoris. If you are someone who really enjoys clitoral orgasms, I think you will absolutely love a hood piercing.
