Salutatio Fellow Travelers!

I tend to be a rather "mysterious" individual, who finds great joy in making people wonder as to the "innermosts" of her personality. This was my one of my greatest motivations for deciding in favor of a genital piercing.
When I finally came to the conclusion that I not only wanted, but *needed* a genital piercing, the question became not of "what", but more precisely, "where"? As I'm sure many of you are aware, there are actually quite a few different placements under the blanket term "female genital piercing".
At first, I was visually attracted to the inner labia piercing. However, since I tend to be difficult to bring to orgasm, I decided something in closer proximity to my clit would be more "practical". Hence (insert drum role here!) the vertical hood piercing! It was decidedly perfect! The healing period is relatively fast, with little to no complications involved (assuming adherence to proper aftercare). Not to mention the supposed benefits of additional stimulation. (I say "supposed" because my piercing is but a week old, and I haven't had the pleasure of "testing it out" yet).
And that's how it came to pass! All was all set! My decision was solidly grounded and definite. When I woke up that Friday morning, I knew it was "the day", and had a difficult time concentrating on my morning tasks. The afternoon finally arrived. Every afternoon, I have an hour-long lunch break, and decided it was high time to "indulge" myself.
I must say, as this is my first genital piercing, I was rather nervous. I practiced breathing exercises on my way to the studio (They helped exponentially!). I parked, and strolled on in. Katrina was nothing short of FANTASTIC. She immediately made me feel comfortable, and chatted while we filled out the necessary paperwork. After all my questions were answered to the fullest possible extent, we ventured back into the piercing room.
The piercing room itself is familiar to me, as I am no stranger to piercing OTHER parts of my body! As usual, the place was immaculate. If you decided to, you would assume no risk by eating something off the floor. Of course, I say that only in jest, but truthfully -- everything is spotless. All needles are new and opened up in front of the "piercee". All jewelry is new, and also opened up in front of the "piercee" as well as autoclaved.
We chatted a little more as she set up "the chair", and the rest of her "gear". The gear consisted of the jewelry (a 14g cbr), needle, and receiving tube. It was time. The jeans came down (yes...I DID wear jeans). Katrina explained everything beforehand, as well as in-depth explanations of every step throughout the procedure. The procedure itself was simple and brief:
-The area is cleaned thoroughly.
-The receiving tube is placed under the "hood".
-The needle is pushed through the skin into the receiving tube.
-The jewelry is "threaded" through into the piercing.
I must warn you here, although it doesn't last long, the feeling of the actual "pierce" is particularly "intense". And I use the term "intense" intentionally here. Pain is not what I felt. Although I realize every person's perception of "pain" is different, this piercing was not especially painful. What I CAN tell you -- however you perceive "pain" -- is that whatever you're going to feel, you're not going to feel it for long (assuming you visit a reputable piercer at a reputable studio). The sensation itself lasted less than 10 seconds.
I was pierced and proud! The jeans were of no particular discomfort, but I do recommend a panty liner, as this piercing does bleed slightly for several hours afterward.
I did go back to school after my lunch break, and I was able to finish my day of teaching with comfort and ease (still wearing the jeans)!
The piercing is now a little over a week old, and is healing more quickly than I ever would have anticipated. To be completely honest with you, the healing period for this piercing is by far and away more comfortable than any ear piercing! I clean it twice a day, in the shower, with anti-bacterial soap. And that's it! Most of the time, I'm totally unaware of it (unless I want to be!), and best of all -- it's a naughty little secret only I, and a few privileged others, know about!
So here I sit, (pain free!) with an absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous vertical hood piercing, typing to all you fine people. My advice: if you're thinking about a vertical hood piercing, and you're delaying for fear of the pain...just go for it. It's so beautiful, and so surprisingly un-painful!
