I have been coming to BME for the last 3 years and have been intrigued by many of the modifications on here. I became increasingly curious about female genital piercings and decided that it would be a perfect match for me. Now, I'm quite fond of my little friend down there, so I wanted to get myself completely educated about it and make sure it was definitely something that I would want to have for a long time. Well, 2 years later, I finally decided that it was time.

I was more comfortable with having a female piercer to perform this task for me, so after doing some research, I found a place not too far from my house that had an experienced female piercer. A friend of mine has been to this place numerous times and she assured me that they were completely professional and extremely clean.

I called up my best friend and announced to her that, "I was going to be getting a vertical hood done and she had to be there." After the initial shock wore off, she agreed to go up with me. We made plans to go that Saturday since I would have a few days off before returning to work.

Saturday finally rolled around and I must say, I was not nervous at all. I think it was mostly because I did not believe I was about to get a piercing "down there." We went to the studio and I met with the piercer, Myla. It started to sink in and I became very nervous. I asked her some quick questions such as how much it would hurt, what the risks were, how fast healing was, etc. She told me that this piercing is very fast and simple to do. It would take only around 2 weeks to heal as long as I took care of it and that the risks for it were fairly low. I was concerned with veins and nerves, but she assured me that those would not be a problem with this piercing.

She took me back to the piercing room and had me sit in the chair while she got everything ready. I was instructed to pull my pants down (which actually wasn't as awkward as I expected) but she told me I could just take 1 pant leg off and leave the other on so I didn't have to take everything off. She cleaned the area and sprayed a small amount of bactine to kill any germs and all that good stuff. She then marked me and asked if the placing was ok...so far so good.

When she put the clamps on, they were quite painful, but not unbearable. I asked her if that was what the piercing would basically feel like. She told me that what I was feeling would be what the piercing would feel like. She then lined the needle up and asked if I was ready, I nodded for her to proceed.

With my eyes clamped shut and my nails digging into the chair (I probably left marks!) she told me to take a deep breath in and she would pierce on my exhale. I breathed in and !BAM! it was done. I'm not going to lie and act all tough, it was very painful. I would say I have a fairly high pain tolerance, but it was definitely a pain I wouldn't want to relive too many times in my life. Like I said earlier, it's not unbearable, but it is painful.

I gave a sigh of relief when she told me that I was all done. I did not bleed nor did I kick her like other girls tend to do...which she was quite pleased about! She told me a girl before me kicked out when she was doing the piercing and the needle shot right out and ended up cutting the girl. I was all excited because I didn't even flinch and I was afraid I'd jump through the roof.

She gave me a mirror to see my new little ornament. I was in love! It was so amazing to see it and to know that I finally got the courage to do it. I came out into the waiting area where my friend waited anxiously. I had the biggest smile on my face and it stayed there the remainder of the day.

Myla went over a few different ways to clean it. She told me that I could use sea salt and soak it at least twice a day or I could use soap, preferably Dial, and clean it that way at least twice a day. I have an unusually high healing ability with my piercings so I opted to use the soap.

To clean my piercing, I used bottled water. I recommend this because water from your faucet tends to be dirty and filled with all kinds of nasty stuff that could infect it or slow the healing process. I used Dial soap and first washed my hands and rinsed them (this is to make sure your hands are clean.) I then lathered more soap on my finger tips and rotated the piercing up and down about 10 times and then I would spin the jewelry to make sure everything inside got the soap. I then took my bottled water and rinsed it using the same process of rotating the jewelry and spinning it to make sure all of the soap was out. I did this 4 times a day for the first 3 days, but now I'm doing it 3 times a day.

I was expecting to be sore and to be walking kind of funky for a week, but this was not the case. I walked funny the day I pierced it, but I was fine after that. The pain wore off after about the third day, and a week later, I have no pain at all. Just make sure you don't touch it, unless you are cleaning it, and to be careful when you sit down (I learned not to sit down too fast or else that would piss it off!)

I want to stress again that everyone is different and that I heal very easily. While this piercing is a pretty easy piercing and a fast healer, you have to make sure you do everything you can to ensure it can heal properly. I have only used Dial soap as my means of cleaning it and I have not experienced any discharge, bleeding, crusties or anything else along those lines. It has been the most pleasant piercing I have received and if you happen to be in central Pennsylvania, I definitely recommend going to Keystone Tattoo to have it done. Myla is wonderful and she makes you sooooo much more comfortable.
